I have been lucky enough to visit Sage Hill many times and it is always a top-notch experience. As many things are now, this visit was different! Because we have a high risk family member at home, we noted that when booking. The staff went out of their way to stay gloved, masked and socially distant. We appreciated it so very much as we needed a get away, but safety was of utmost importance to us. While we missed the dining room, our meals were still delicious and our experience was wonderful and safe!

We stayed 3 nights. The positive things: Good location and set in nature, lovely accommodations, nice pool area, relaxing retreat feel, good wifi. Appreciated that they provided free cold bottled water in various places. Also had sunscreen and bug spray available for free. The 2 complaints: noise and food You definitely hear your neighbors. We could hear stomping above us and every toilet flush as well. Also, we could hear entire conversations from our neighbors next to us (they were speaking at regular volume) - I even heard one whole side of a phone call. The food was the HUGE disappointment, especially given how many people raved about it in reviews. Perhaps the problems were because of Covid-19 and how things changed because of it. Food was delivered to our rooms - dinners were usually luke-warm at best, under-seasoned, and the meat was dry. The continental breakfast was average - no real complaints about it (croissant, bagel, yogurt, fruit cup, muffin, juice). All of the food was forgettable, and we didn't even finish our dinners because they weren't that good. We ate takeout from two local restaurants and both were much better quality and taste. Maybe the poor meals were due to Covid-19 restrictions - so just make sure to consider that if things are still being modified.

Hello GiantSis, Thank you for your stay here at Sage Hill Inn. We are sad to hear that you were unable to enjoy our food. We strive to make sure all of our guest have a relaxing and enjoyable time while visiting our small Hill Country Inn. We are currently trying to provide our guest with enjoyable food in their rooms instead of dining in the restaurant in order to ensure the safety of our guest. At the end of the day though we want to provide excellent service and we have missed that with your food during your stay. Please feel free to give me a call so we can make it right for you. Thank you so much!

Not only is Sage Hill Inn very luxurious in its amenities - you'll also get one of the best meals of your life. The chef is an absolute genius at using the bounty from the inn's ample garden (make sure to stroll through it) and the service is first-class. Prices may look high but they cover the cost of both dinner and breakfast, both of which you will find memorable. To top it all, the inn has several hiking trails through the lovely landscape. This is definitely a place to visit, and return to, in the heart of the Hill Country of Texas, close to Austin.

Thank you for the kind review. Every season the chef and the gardener work hand in hand in deciding what to grow for our restaurant. We love having the ability to grow what works perfect for the season of the year. Thank you for your stay and we hope to see you join us again at Sage Hill Inn & Spa!

Went for my second visit here on a solo retreat. First let’s talk bathtubs. I am a taller person and it breaks my big heart that my body can’t get comfortable in 80% of bathtubs. The Sage Hill Inn understands bathtubs. In fact the whole bathroom feels like it’s own luxury spa. Next, nature. Things here are beautiful. The land is well cared for and something about the way the trails are laid out makes nature feel accessible and welcoming; even to those of us who are afraid of snakes, scorpions, and wasps. It is a very lovely place to feel a part of it all. And if you love gardens... oh, boy. Finally, and maybe most importantly, the caring staff has thought through every detail and truly makes you feel welcome. I feel like I am a guest at someone’s home when I am here. In comparison to my first trip (a babymoon in 2018), this solo retreat was equally enjoyable even though now the inn is practicing social distancing as much as possible. Breakfast was maybe a little less thrilling because of that, but certainly not bad. The quarantine situation meant I had lots of privacy on this trip and that was exactly what I needed. Thanks, y’all, for helping me spoil and care for myself in these very overwhelming times.

Such a peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing property. They are doing their best to figure out how to best serve people in the midst of the pandemic. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the nature trails, the pool, the rocking chairs, and the beautiful garden and flowers. Short drive to eat lunch if you didnt want to eat at the property. The sunsets were amazing!
