I have absolutely enjoyed my stay. Not only is the property unique, beautiful and cozy, but it is extremely peaceful too! The staff is very attentive when needed and unseen otherwise. I stayed in a River front cabin that had all the amenities and a beautiful view of the Guadalupe. I highly recommend staying here and will return soon!

I had the pleasure of staying at River Trail Cottages in early November. I am a very picky person and typically feel sorry for management after I scour the room I'm reserved. WELL, I was absolutely pleased with my cottage. It was perfect, it is larger than what is portrayed in the pictures and the view is spectacular. There are restaurants and a great little vintage antique consignment shop across the street. The rooms were very clean and updated, the balcony overlooks the river and is great for morning coffee.

We stayed 8/7/19 at the River Trails Cottages. This place is adorable and has the most amazing location along the river. Many of the cottages have lovely views of the river from their own private deck. There is a cement landing leading down to the rivers edge where you can soak your feet in the clear and shallow water. We saw a ton of wildlife including numerous deer right in the campgrounds. This is an immaculately clean park. The owner met us at the entrance and escorted to a shady spot for our camper. This is also a peaceful park with access to a bike trail across the bridge. Definitely a "do over" park. I could tell they have put a lot of love into the business.

For one of the stops of our New Mexico - Texas babymoon trip, I wanted to surprise my wife Paulina with a night in Fredericksburg, TX. As it turns out, it is quite hard (although not impossible) to book only one night during the weekend. We were driving from San Angelo, TX into Texas Hill Country on a Friday, so there were not a lot of options. Bearing in mind that most of the Hill Country area is beautiful, I decided to look elsewhere for a night, and visiting Fredericksburg the next day. I had had a burning desire since forever to stay the closest I could by a river, so Kerrville, TX snatched my attention. It seemed to be a much friendlier place to spend only one night, and it was only a half-hour drive to our german-y field trip the next day. Through Trip Advisor, I found River Trail Cottages...a place that had few reviews, but very enthusiastic and always 5-stared! Being my wife 7 months pregnant, we really needed a perfect combination of room comfort (no deep-in-the-forest cabins) and nature-friendly spaces that weren't a hassle in any way. RTC was the PERFECT place to spend the night! There are several types of "cabins" (which inside can be described even as "luxurious"), but I really recommend you pick a river view one. All of them have individual parking spaces, so the packing and unpacking is really a breeze. All main doors have a digital code lock (besides a traditional key lock), so there is no need to check in. All of the information was timely provided to us by mail before our arrival. And by the way, there is no need to check out, either! As long as you follow the written instructions found inside the room, you're good to go. Most of our time in RTC was spent 10 feet away from the Guadalupe River. We used one of their picnic tables and one of their grills, and cooked our afternoon away. We had beautiful weather, so it was a delightful experience. Just feet away from the picnic table (under tall trees) there is a concrete staircase which leads right into the river. On most of the river area we spent our day, depth is no more than one or two feet, so it is really inviting even for kids (just watch your step, since the river floor has rock ridges, sometimes covered in moss). During the night we spent some time in the cabin's balcony. It was a blissful experience, watching the distant light-covered hills, the sound of the river flowing downstream, the view of fireflies in the darkness and the comfy chairs and table. After a very relaxing and good night's sleep (excellent beds), we returned to the balcony again to have breakfast (not included with the cabin's rental). There are two small things that I found to be areas or opportunity for the place. The first of them is that the TV only has 15 channels. You could definitely argue that a heavenly place like this should not even have TVs! But we really love winding down with it. And with so few channel options to watch, it was definitely a "should we take out laptop our and search Netflix?" moment (wifi is great, by the way). Another thing is that there was only one grill by the river. There are several picnic tables...I guess there are more (grills) around that could be brought beside them. But if you really don't want to miss out on a BBQ day, you should definitely arrive EARLY (at check-in time, which is 3 PM). We didn't get a chance to know Blake (manager), but he was always ready for anything needed (contacted him by e-mail and phone). Not a problem, since we will be back soon and definitely will then! Bottom line: VISIT THIS PLACE ASAP! You will thank me for it!

I am so glad we chose River Trail Cottages for our daughter's destination wedding in Kerrville instead of a local hotel. The entire experience was personal, accommodating, laid back, and indicative of Hill Country hospitality. There are a variety of cabin sizes, RV hook ups, vintage RVs to choose from, and our guests filled almost all of them for the weekend. The young people were able to safely hang out around the fire pits late into the night, while those who wanted out of the heat hung on the many porches and in the air-conditioned Depot area which we used for community meals. Our family appreciated the history of the property, the fantastic views of the Guadalupe, and the totally re-done, uber clean cabin interiors and furnishings. Bridesmaids and groomsmen even blew off steam splashing in the perfect ankle-deep water as the river runs its course along this property. Manger, Blake, lives on the property, and I cannot say enough about how professional, responsive and friendly he was in anticipating and accommodating the needs of our many guests - both on the weekend itself and for the many months leading up to it. A fantastic alternative to local "big-box" hotels located just blocks from historic downtown and walking distance from local shopping and several restaurants - RTC is hands down one of the best choices in Kerrville for wedding/family reunions/ group gatherings...…..or even single cabin rentals
