Austin Street Cottage and Guest Suites offer the quaintness of a B&B but let you enjoy the privacy you deserve. This 1100 s/f batten board cottage has two bedrooms with king size beds, a full kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom and laundry room. You will enjoy the inviting front porch and only one block from the downtown a very nice stroll. The beautiful courtyard gardens create an intimate getaway and are filled with birds of all kinds; this is truly home away from home. You can also enjoy one of two cottages, the Romantic Haven or the Rustic Retreat; both are very charming and very comfortable and each has a kitchenette, living room, bedroom equipped with king size beds and private baths with claw-foot tubs, private parking. Each cottage overlooks the courtyard gardens. I believe you will find this is the best place to stay in Jefferson!

Detailed Reviews
The charm of a B&B with more privacy -- the small cottages are comfortable, clean and well-equipped, and located within walking distance of the historical district. The hostess is friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Definitely the place to stay in Jefferson.

This sweet woman has thought of every amenity! My sister -in-law and I went for Mardi Gras and we were in walking distance of restaurants and downtown. The house was built in 1910 and had so much charm! The small kitchen had a coffee maker and an assortment of teas.
Just perfect!. There were 3 TVs. One in each bedroom and one in the living room. Perfect if 2 couples were sharing it and someone wanted to go to bed before everyone else. She stopped by and checked on us daily but it really felt like a friend stopping by. The beds slept well and had plenty of pillows. Also plenty of hot water and towels. (None of those signs telling you to conserve towels because they are too cheap to provide them!) Just a little slice of paradise!

Room Tip:Â We stayed in the main cottage and didn't see inside the other rooms as they were booked.

We stayed in The Rustic Cottage. It has a king bed, day bed, small kitchen and small table. It was just what we were looking for. This B&B is not perfect, a few little things could have been better. Overall, I gave it 5 stars because we really enjoyed our stay.

The location of this cottage is perfect but it is in need of some TLC. I don’t like to write bad reviews but I booked this place based on decent reviews. It looks like it was very cute at one time several years ago but is not maintained. There is no breakfast and parking is difficult if both units are booked.

The rates are not what are posted. They are higher.
There is no breakfast but the rate is the same.
The exterior lighting does not work, very dark to walk.
Steps are rotten.
Bed is sagging.
Furniture is shabby, missing handles etc.
Exterior is trashy, broken limbs, dirty ass trays, very unkept.
Bathroom sink was rusty.
Flower beds unkept.
Broken glass panes In doorway.
I expressed my concerns to the management, and never got a response.

The Austin Street Cottage's are located on a pretty tree lined street within walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. The lovely grounds are so inviting and the cottage (Rustic Retreat) was perfectly appointed with all the comforts of home. Highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I wanted to take a little getaway and check out this town. She had been there before but did not get to take everything in that trip. We stayed at the Austin Street Cottages and found our unit to be very cozy and comfortable and adequate for our needs. The owner was very nice. She came to check that we got in and all was to our liking and assured us that she was close by if we needed anything. We brought our own snacks and drinks, but there was a little basket of snacks on the table for us too.
The town of Jefferson is very old, quaint and interesting. A lot of history there and antique shops, a few galleries and really great restaurants! We never had a bad meal. Everyone in the town, especially the shopkeepers, were very friendly and helpful, giving us advice on where to go and taking time to visit with us. We felt very comfortable with them... the small town feel! Took a lot of pictures. Enjoyed the live band at dinner on Friday. I just wish we had had one more day to check things out because there were places we weren't able to get to and we never got down to the river area. The flea market was a bit of a disappointment. That was the only negative. It just wasn't as huge as we thought it would be, but very nice people. We did the ghost tour too and it was fun, but of course, we experienced nothing this time.
We would go back. If you want a relaxing and comfortable getaway, this is it!

Our cottage had a private bath with stained glass windows and a old claw foot tub. Also it had a living room, bedroom, dinning room and kitchen. Private feel in a cozy setting. We liked it, and loved Jefferson.

Clean comfortable quiet place to stay. Walking distance to downtown Jefferson. Hostess very informative. Nice courtyard to just hangout. The only drawback to me was that it's a bed and breakfast but the breakfast is a coupon for $5 off breakfast at a local restaurant. I didn't expect hostess to cook for me but a complete meal would have been nice. The cottages have a small refrigerator and a microwave. There's also a few snacks provided. No housekeeping provided but I didn't expect or want. Awesome deep pedestal tub for soaking but bring your own bubble bath! Soap an shampoo provided. Has a blowdryer and a clothes iron. I'd stay again.

This cottage was wonderful! It was cozy, private and had everything we needed. It is also conveniently located very close to town. I loved the feel of the cottage as it reminded me of my grandparents home. The owners were friendly and easy to contact. The check in was slightly confusing as there were no instructions on the website or the confirmation email.
