To Whom It May Concern, My team and I recently stayed at your Westin Dallas Fort Worth Airport property. We are here in Dallas to fly to China after an extensive COVID testing requirement. The staff of the hotel were not wearing mask. Even when I came to speak to them they did not put a mask on while speaking through the pixie glass safety divider. Additionally, two staff members by the lobby elevators were together without a mask. I waited to enter this area in hopes he would put a mask on. It wasn’t until I said something that they did. Needless to say, it was shocking to see this going on and we promptly check out and moved to a different hotel. Upon check out, I was asked why. I told the front desk staff member we were uncomfortable with the lack of COVID precautions. At this time she still did not have a mask. She checked us and charged us my and my teams rooms. This was very disappointing and will definitely be in my mind for all future business travel with Marriott/Westin.

This is a nice hotel. About 2 miles from the airport. The hotel shuttle is available on demand so you don’t have to wait long at the airport. There’s a gas station across the street if you want cheaper snacks and drinks. The room has a nice lounge area separate from the bedroom. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were flat. Basic tub/shower combo in the bathroom. I actually thought the shower was broken because the knob kept turning and wouldn’t turn on but you actually have to pull and twist to make it work. The hotel employees were very friendly.

I checked into the hotel after a long, grueling 9 hours on the road and was disappointed to find that the bar, club lounge and restaurant were all closed due to those idiotic Covid restrictions. I voiced my displeasure and was pleasantly surprised by a knock on my door by Patricia, who checked me in, bringing me a tray of goodies! I can not thank her and her MOD enough for going above and beyond. The hotel manager should also be praised for knowing enough to hire people who have ‘client service’ in their blood! Hats off to you Patricia for putting a smile on my face! And thanks to hotel management for making your staff feel empowered to take care of guests. In normal times this type of thing is greatly appreciated; in these current difficult times it restores one’s faith in humanity! Thank you all!

8/15/2020 This Westin hotel pool, and bar, restaurant were closed due to Covid. However a great many guest sat in the lobby without a mask in the evening although there were sighs saying masks must be worn. There were also children from basketball teams running through the lobby and hallways until midnight. Two elevators were out of service and it took 25 minutes to go down 3 flights of stairs using the other 2 elevators that were crammed with so many people you could not get on .There are no stairs that end on the 1st floor. The stairs stop at an alarmed exit door. Except for a Denny's the closest place to eat is about 3 miles away.

Cavalier attitude about wearing a mask is very concerning. The female who checked me in the evening of 8/14 had her mask under her chin. Not a good example when requiring guests to wear masks. Her male team member did have his on. Acknowledgement of Titanium status would have been nice, but was glad to be rushed through check-in since she felt health and safety mandates did not apply to her. Out of service elevators just make guests want to crowd into the two that are working.
