Stay: 4/18/22 - 4/21/22 Property is maintained fairly well, except for some important details that show shortcuts were taken in the remodel. (Fixtures, switches, outlets, etc. That are tired and are glaringly ugly). There are motion sensors on the thermostat so if you don’t move a lot while sleeping you may wake up hot or cold. No maid service on multiple day services unless YOU ask. You won’t be asked. 2 towels for a 3 night stay wouldn’t work. When I asked for more towels on the 3rd day, I had to ask multiple times before they showed up 3 hours later. My last issue is probably more about Marriott status. I have a diamond Ambassador membership with IHG and am staying in a few places where there are not IHG hotels available conveniently so I thought I would build up a Marriott Bonvoy membership as well due staying up to 100 nights a year in hotels. So, currently I only have gold status with Marriott and they aren’t doing very well with attracting me to stay more. I asked for a 2pm checkout because of a late afternoon flight, and they would not accommodate. I know there upper tiers have guaranteed late checkouts, but if they strike out on the 3rd property I will stay at, I’m going to switch to Hilton and maintain the Diamond IHG status. After 2 Marriott properties this month, compared to countless IHG stays, IHG is way more consistent on the quality of stays.…
Booked this hotel specifically to go to the airport early am. We had a flight such that 5am shuttle was way too early, 6am a bit too late. We would have just taken the 5am if we had too, but the check in agent told us that the drivers could more than likely take us at 530a. So we called at 5am as instructed to be told that no one could take us at 530a and had to pay for an Uber instead from our airport hotel. Defeated the whole purpose of staying here. The agent we spoke to at 5am asked if we were part of some type of corporate meeting group as if we could have possibly been provided with the ride to the airport if we were.
Business trip, two nights, close to DFW Airport, very nice shuttle driver, nice front desk staff, has a bar (Whiskey Tango) and plenty of seating area, lots of rooms for conferences, hotel is clean, first morning didn't have any warm/hot water for shower - told the front desk and they had someone repair it, but took two more showers and the water was only luke warm at best, some of the wall outlets are loose and won't hold a charger plug, rooms are nice but some wear and tear which I'm sure is from the constant use, has a fitness room
I picked this hotel since it had a restaurant and bar and was close to airport. The restaurant and bar did not disappoint! Marcos and Freddy were great! Our meal was delicious and my lemon drops were delicious! I have already booked this house for my next trip. Rooms are nice also!
Wonderful experience.....We were enthusiastically greeted (and entertained while signed into our room.) by Tim. Thanx Tim for the warm, friendly welcome! I am a Marriott member and he offered us an upgrade to the top floor that actually had two connecting rooms. One looked like a meeting room...it was very big...with a couch bed, a big table and kitchen area, the other was about a third the size with a king bed. We were very comfortable. I could turn off the ac in my room and my son could keep his on...we slept well. We each had a bathroom with the best shower head, We even enjoyed a night swim in the pool. All was very clean and we had a great experience. We highly recommend The Sheraton DFW Airport Hotel!!
AC didn’t work properly. Engineering came to investigate and couldn’t help the situation. AC set on 60. Air was blowing 69.. WTF. No one offered for us to change rooms. Bar staff said we couldn't take our sodas into bar area when we wanted to order food to go. I had to sit in the lobby area while my husband order dinner. Terrible customer service Don't waste your $$ We are elite platinum members. Marriott needs to revaluate this property
I did not see the area in the daylight so have no clue about views. I arrived on a flight that required an overnight connection. Because I needed sleep I took an Uber up from the airport with a very nice man quickly checking me in. The room was clean, though a slight smell of a cigar, but that bathroom--wow, I could almost see my reflection in the floor tiles---it was the cleanest I have ever seen a hotel bathroom. The wifi worked great though I only used it for ten minutes. A complimentary bottle of water was also in the room--a nice touch and the bed was so comfortable. When my alarm went off at 4:30 am, I wanted to stay in bed. Check out was easy and this time I took the shuttle service to the airport. The bus was filled to capacity plus others were standing. Thankfully, everyone was wearing a mask and I was directly behind the driver who was also wearing a mask. I would definitely stay for an overnight again if I have a connection through Dallas like this trip did.…
Bad weather at DFW forced cancellations including my connecting flight, thus stranding me at the airport. Since I had lifetime status with the Starwood chain even before the merger with Marriott, I decided on this property to spend the night. There were a lot of stranded souls, so I wasn't surprised the place was a bit crowded, but I was processed promptly and efficiently and on my way to the room, which was spacious and welcoming. The club room was closed so I went down to have a nightcap, and received prompt service in the bar. There seemed to be somewhat constrained service, whether from the renovations or from COVID distancing I don't know, but all worked out. The next morning I went to the breakfast area and again found the service to be much more limited than what I had expected for a Sheraton, but they did offer a hot breakfast (no buffet, individual order). The omelet I ordered was cooked to perfection and I had no complaint there. Probably because of the flight cancellations the day before, there was quite a group waiting for the airport shuttle, which filled up and departed with many of us still waiting. The hotel promptly had another shuttle come by but it had only a few seats open, so the hotel brought out a larger bus and got the rest of us to the airport in plenty of time to catch our flights. Fortunately DFW is an easy airport to get around in once you're through security so I had some time to get to my gate. I was pleased overall with my stay at the Sheraton. It wasn't quite the service I would expect in "normal" times, but it was satisfactory and the room and bed were extremely comfortable. I admired the professionalism of the staff in accommodating the unexpected influx due to the flight cancellations and getting us all off to the airport without problems. They certainly knew what they were doing!…
Everyrhing was in renovation, the service at the bar (eventhough Marcos was doing an amazing job) was slow to say the least, completly understaffed, Rooms airconditioning didn't work, queus for everything like if it was Disney. I hated the experience.
I travel often with my job. Whisky Tango is a place you feel right at home when you walk in. Great service. Great food and Freddie makes me feel like family every time I stay. The wings are always a great choice.
