Great location. Clean room. Nothing fancy but more than adequate for our one night stay. Lots of shopping and restaurants in the area. Felt safe. Quick and easy check in process. Would recommend for a short visit.
Staff was great and attentive, house keeping was on top of any potential issues. The room was comfortable and clean. The pool area was well designed and parking was easy and a few steps from the hotel entrance.
I decided to book a staycation over Valentine's Day weekend. As a Black Tier Select Guest, I was contacted by Tish, who is the Loyalty Ambassador for the hotel. She was phenomenal in getting everything set up and accommodated my requests prior to my arrival. Upon arrival for check-in, it was fast since my room key was on the key board, thus not requiring me to have to stand in a line or wait to talk to a front desk agent. I had a high floor room with a great view of the downtown Dallas skyline in the distance. The amenities of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of wine that were brought to my room due to my Black Tier Select Guest status were delicious. It was a great stay, and I look forward to my next staycation visit.
I recently stayed at the Omni Hotel in Irving, TX and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The first room we were assigned to had a serious mold issue in the bathroom - the caulking was clearly moldy and there also appeared to be mold on the vents (I found out later that this is a regular complaint). To make matters worse, both myself and my partner woke up in the middle of the night with severe congestion and breathing difficulties. We brought this mold issue to the attention of the hotel staff and were moved to a different room, but unfortunately, it had the same mold issue-- something I didn't notice until we got back from the day and got to the room that evening. I suppose I should've inspected when we dropped our bags in the new room, but didn't (my fault, I suppose). As a result, when we got back late that evening, we ended up leaving (without staying the night) and found another place to stay. Aside from the mold issue, there were also other issues with the cleanliness of the room. The bathroom light fixtures were covered in dust and it was clear that the room hadn't seen a deep clean in many months (if not years). For the high price we paid, I expected much better standards of cleanliness and maintenance. The lobby might be updated (fresh, modern), but the elevators are simply time machines that take you to a room that was probably nice in 1980 I am extremely disappointed with the experience at the Omni Hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone. The mold issue is a serious health concern and the hotel staff should have done more to address it. It was a very unsatisfying stay.…
Krystal and Rafael at the front desk, in particular, are exceptional. They are genuinely interested in the well-being of guests, proactively offer assistance and ares simply delightful. We know because we ended up staying over a week due to flight cancelations and had lots of requests! But, really, the entire staff seem well trained, courteous and competent. The rooms are nicely appointed, comfortable and quiet. The locations proved ideal for my marathon training since lake Carolyn, which the property is on, has a trail that is a lovely run. All around very positive experience! We'll return for sure.
The lobby area feels fresh and modern, but things changed rapidly from the moment you step out of the elevator on your floor. Feels like a 1986 Marriott - outdated, tired, and in desperate need of a complete overhaul - old carpets, shower standing in a faded avocado colored bath tub etc etc. The 1986 vibe was further reinforced by having to pay for wifi (which you need to connect your device to the TV by chromecast). The only way you can avoid paying is by registering for their rewards program - goodbye to another 15 minutes of my life. I was forced to use my own device as the cable TV was not working 2 of the 3 nights I was there.
I originally booked the Omni Mandalay months in advance because it used to be a top notch hotel. I had to make a change to my reservation, at which point they increased my reservation from $1,200 for 3 nights to over $1,600 for 3 nights. They hotel employee did not disclose the rate change to me, nor did she send me the email I requested to document the changes. I happened to look at my reservation before the trip and was ultimately forced to cancel my original reservation and downgrade my room (only to pay an additional $100 for everything). I would have stayed somewhere else but we were traveling with friends and did not want to make them change as well. Additionally, the vents in our room were moldy and it is obvious the hotel has not been well maintained. There are places where wood trim is coming off the walls and toilet paper holder/towel racks are coming apart. For $400 a night, I would have expected the WiFi to be free, but it is not. Room service (which is always overpriced) was poor quality....plastic utensils and mediocre food. There are many more options at this price in the Dallas area that are a better use of your travel dollars! When I discussed the room rate and other issues with one of their managers, his only response was that "rates originally booked are not guaranteed once changes are made." In other words, they are okay with handling their business without transparency and in a manner that leaves the customer feeling completely taken advantage of and unappreciated for choosing to do business with their hotel. Don't make the mistake of staying at the Omni Mandalay in Las Colinas!…
Everything about this hotel left me impressed. Starting with a special request I made to Trisha. After I received my reservation, I was greeted with an email from Trisha asking if I needed anything else. I made a special request (I would rather not disclose here to protect Trisha ;)) and she made it happen with hesitation. Once I arrived, everyone on staff made my stay enjoyable. The front desk always had a smile and jumped at the opportunity to help. The food was far above average for a hotel. And the property was wonderful with more amenities than I could use during my stay.
First , the rooms are very spacious. Two, the staff are really kind. Jamie, in particular, is a stand out. He took such great care of us and we are very grateful. He is funny and very personable. I’m very impressed with this hitely
Staff & management are laughable. Except for one kind woman behind the front desk, the staff does not care. One particular male staff member behind the front desk was particularly rude. The hotel was practically empty, so one would think that staff & management would treat guests better.
