I have been a Hilton Honors member for approximately 15 years. I experienced something in the hotel that you manage this week that I assure you I have not experienced before.
I entered your hotel on Wednesday evening around 6:30 and was standing at the front counter when I looked to my right and two young ladies were eating in the breakfast area.
One of them addressed me who said “do you need help?” I responded that I needed to check in. Upon giving my name to the two young ladies they could not find my reservation and asked me if I had a confirmation number. I walked back out to my vehicle to retrieve my phone that had the confirmation number in an email. When coming back in one of them ( later to identified as Alma) responded to me that evidently someone had already checked in under that reservation. She told me to “have a seat”. I asked her what did she say to me and she repeated it and said they would look into it. As I’m waiting in the lobby area 15 mins later she informed that she was going to put me in a suite.
That upgrade was appreciated.
Checked out the next morning and the young lady, Alma, was still there and checked me out.
Wearing a Tied Eye Destin FL colorful shirt,
no name tag, asked me if I need a receipt. She handed me the receipt that was not complete.
I returned for one that had the charges applied to my CC for expense purposes.
In summary I would suggest that Alma be encouraged to work on her posture, her communication skills, and equally important her attitude.

The hotel was clean, breakfast service was perfect with friendly staff. The hotel host was exceptionally conscientious regarding the comfort of the guests. I loved that he monitored the halls and surroundings when he could. We really appreciated that. Nice job!

Do not stay in this hotel! I have stayed in a lot of hotels but this was the worst one I have ever stayed in. The hotel lobby looked great but they spent no money on the room remodels. The door to our room was stuck open and would only close if you shoved it closed. The room was very cheaply done with chipping paint everywhere. The room felt dirty. The refrigerator was frozen so you could barely use it. The TV didn’t work properly and the customer service was terrible. Then to top it off they charged my account 3 times for the room totaling over $400. They keep promising they will refund my money but so far I have not seen it credited to my account. There is no way this hotel is the #1 place to stay in Huntsville. It would be the last hotel I would ever stay in.

I have higher expectations of hotels that have strong brands and tout cleanliness, to the degree where they put stickers on doors to claim they have been professionally cleaned. Except they are not, at least in our case. We opened the refrigerator door to find half finished beverages. Nasty.

Over the years I have stayed at this property several times while at events for Sam Houston State University. This will be my last time. It has turned into a nasty hotel. The floors are sticky and unclean, not vacuumed, and the room that I had smelled like a dog and apparently was covered with some sort of deodorizer because it got worse as the night progressed. The room was not clean. I truly believe that the bedspread had not been changed and smelled like dog. There is a Hotel 50 feet from this one consider it first even if it cost more. The breakfast was nonexistent at 7:30 in the morning. There were no eggs,no sausage, no service and just not the same visit as in the past.

Two night stay during a family visit to Sam Houston State University. The front desk personnel were excellent throughout the stay, always asking if we needed anything and if there was anything they could do to make our stay better. The rooms was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Definitely will stay there again.

I like this hotel. The staff is kind and caring. I've even stayed with 4 elderly people and the staff was so good to everyone and worked hard to get us rooms close together. I have stayed here often and it's always clean. The only complaint I've ever had is that I visited my daughter, who goes to school there, during one of the hurricanes and since so many go this direction from the coast they jack up the price by at least double each time. Which in my opinion is so very wrong! They sell out so it's not like they need the extra money. It's not just this hotel though. All of them did it. I was do desperate for a place I tried the Motel 6 which I'd NEVER say otherwise and even it was $120 per night. Which is about double theirs too. I won't pay that much for a hotel I'd not stay in otherwise. So, I stayed with my daughter. Wasn't comfortable but it was clean. lol

Today while trying to get a quick bite to eat I was denied a piece of fruit by the breakfast attendant. I entered at 9:59 to get a piece of fruit read the sign requiring a mask to enter then took one step away away to get a mask and when I turned around the lady shut the door on my face. Wow really that’s how you treat your hotel guest that helps pay your salary?

I was really surprised by the negative reviews I saw of this property. I stay primarily at Hilton properties and this exceeded my expectations of a Hampton. I booked last minute since I was not up for battling the houston traffic after a day of hiking. The price point was what I expected and I was able to check in within 10 minutes of booking through the app. They don’t have the digital key option (yet) but I was fortunate to find no line at the front desk and was greeted by Tonya, who assisted me with a friendly smile and offered me some waters and snacks. The room was quiet, clean and quite comfortable. I also was able to enjoy the pool for a bit before heading to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. Great stay and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a clean, safe and comfortable option while on the road.

No we did not. Room had no signs of them. We did do a deep clean after inspection was done.
