I have to visit the SHSU campus every year for training and always stay at this hotel. It's very convenient as our training is located in the LEMIT building next door. I don't even have to venture outside, as there is a bridge connecting the buildings. There's a cafe on the second floor which serves breakfast and lunch. The rooms...

It's convenient and the rates are a little better than the Hampton Inn. The staff is friendly at checkin and everything was ready. The hotel is a bit dated, but the bathrooms look like they have been renovated. The bed was comfortable with ample pillows. The downside is the room smells a bit musty and the air conditioning just has...

My fellow employees regularly travel to Sam Houston State for training and they've always stated how much they hated it. This was my first stay there and I spent 3 straight weeks. I have to say that the University Hotel is just finishing a major face lift and I had no major complaints about it all. The rooms themselves have...

Despite making this reservation o/a 7 Mar 2016; upon arrival the 2 bedroom suite we thought was reserved was taken. Only option was a standard hotel room. Luckily we were able to arrange other accommodations for our daughter. Despite the letdown, the rooms are okay; very quiet; not a lot of hell raisers around the adjacent criminal justice center! That...

This hotel is nice enough. It is a little dated, but the rooms are nice - they have been remodeled in the past 5 years, as I understand it. Love the bathroom - especially the sinks. I felt, however, that it was sort of like a fancy dormitory, not unusual for a university hotel, I guess. Even the lobby area...

The hotel was host to the acoustic music retreat. The staff were did everything possible to make sure the guests had a pleasant stay. The hotel was in the process of renovations and managed to keep the construction sites clear so guest could move about with no problems. The complimentary breakfast was rather uninspiring, but probably would have been better...

The room was clean, the service was friendly, and a breakfast buffet and free wifi were part of the room rate. Room come equip with safes and coffee machines. Parking is free. We stayed for two nights while visiting our daughter at Sam. This place is nothing fancy, but better than I anticipated. It's quiet and the beds are comfortable. Most importantly, it's clean. The maid service was skimpy, but for two nights it was fine. We will definitely stay again.

Since the early 80s I have been a regular customer of this hotel having taken classes and attended conferences at Sam Houston State University. It has come a long way since my first visit. Most recently, the staff has renovated the hotel. Without compromising the historic aspect of the hotel, it provides very comfortable accommodations at a more than reasonable...

Location is all I can say about this hotel. Since it is on the campus it is very convenient so you can be close to your child while visiting. The students working were also very nice and helpful. But I cant say much else about this hotel, as it needs LOTS of updates. The stairways smell like dirty socks, and...
