After a 17 hour long flight and arriving early evening - all we wanted was to eat and sleep.

From the moment we stepped outside of the cab we we're welcomed by the concierge and helped with out bags with a big greeting and smile.

The check in was super smooth with Danny (I believe his name was) and another gentleman - Super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for the sweet potato fries recommendation!! We ordered them on room services and they were THE BEST we've ever had.

Room was nice and clean and SUPER quiet. Large comfortable bed.

I used the gym room (only cardio) and unfortunately didn't have a chance to use the gym close by which had weights and was complimentary - a brilliant touch.

Breakfast - excellent choice and super tasty.

If we are ever in Houston again, we wouldn't even look for anywhere else to stay as it truly was PERFECT.

The Lancaster hotel was hands down our best hotel stay ever. Thank you to the amazingly attentive staff and the owner of this building for creating such a perfect honeymoon experience for my new wife and I. Every little detail from the extremely clean rooms to the beautiful room finishings was perfectly tasteful and made us feel like royalty.

The in room espresso machine and the snacks were a very welcome surprise. Also, the room service was better than some restaurants I have had.

The Lancaster is a top-notch, luxury, historic hotel that is very accommodating to guests and is actually affordable. Our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and the bedding was so comfortable. I believe the Lancaster takes comfort very seriously. I would like to know where they purchase their sheets because I would buy some! We were told upon arrival that there would be champagne for the guests around 5:00 and that we could eat the snacks and beverages that were in the room with no charge. The restaurant in the hotel serves a wide variety of delicious food, drinks, and good wine. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere but the Lancaster when in Houston. We had missed our flight to Belize due to bad weather and had to book at Hotel room in Houston until the next day. While we were disappointed that we missed a day in Belize, we had a surprisingly wonderful time at the Lancaster.

General Manager, Tom Harwell, and his entire staff worked hard to welcome us at this conveniently located historic hotel. The free snacks and soft drinks in the room, the amazing breakfast and the comfortably appointed room added so much to our stay. Theaters, restaurants, and even a nice gym are all just steps away from this fine establishment. Somehow the room was quiet and dark at night due to an investment in great blackout curtains and double-paned windows.

This is a really great place to stay. Three of us stayed in a deluxe room with 2 queen beds. This must be the largest 2-queen room I have ever stayed in—the hotel says it is 500 sq.ft. The bathroom is also larger than is typical. The hotel provides and replenishes without charge a variety of soft drinks and snacks (e.g., Hershey's chocolate bar and Fig Newtons).

The real treat about staying at The Lancaster is the free breakfast. During the pandemic, the hotel offers the option of breakfast in your room, which we declined. Instead, we ate at one of the tables on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. You can order anything on the menu without charge—except for bottled water and espresso drinks, for which there is an extra charge. One morning I had the Lancaster Benedict, their version of eggs Benedict with a choice of smoked salmon or Canadian bacon. The other two mornings I had brioche French toast with a side order of turkey sausage. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent.

The staff at the front desk were always helpful.

My husband and I stayed in the Artists Suite for 4 nights in February 2020. Everything about this hotel is on point. Gorgeous artwork from local Texas artists fills the hotel. The service is impeccable with very friendly, helpful and responsive staff from the front desk to room service to the valet. The decor was beautiful, everything was sparkling clean and elegant. We love that the full breakfast buffet is free, in room snacks and drinks are free and wifi is free. The maid service is first rate. Everything about the hotel and our stay was as perfect as it could be. We will be staying here every trip to Houston! Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!

From the moment you walk in you can tell there is a different air and attitude compared with most hotels. They treated everyone I saw there with the same level of respect. It was as though you were important. Even if you aren’t.
The location is in the heart of downtown surrounded by office buildings. A great location for a quick business trip.
Parking is valet only. Not a problem if your company is paying.
So, the rooms are small but spotlessly clean. Linens are immaculate. The bathrooms on a submarine are bigger than this hotel’s. It should be noted this hotel is really, really old. It’s a classic. Fantastic shape and appearance. The turn down service is great, they welcome you to your room. Heads up, there are doorbells. My stay had a breakfast included which is nice if you are just headed to work after. I’m assuming nothing there is inexpensive, including the minibar which was part of my room rate. If you are looking for a cheap discount hotel, this is not for you. However, if you are looking to be treated like royalty you might like the Lancaster a lot. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome, if not special, at least for a little bit. Valet works well if you call ahead. There is a small bar/ restaurant in the lobby. Close access to all major freeways. Not much city noise in the room.

Impeccable service from the moment we arrived. The valet to the doorman, front desk and general manager (Tom Harwell) were outstanding in representing The Lancaster.

Welcoming glasses of Cava were served this being New Year's Eve, easy check in which we knew we arrived early so chose to have lunch on the restaurant. Our waiter, Keith was excellent as were the dishes. The tomato basil soup, tune tartare and short rib tacos were all delicious.

On to our room after lunch which was on 11th floor. Elegant and spacious with complimentary snacks and beverages.

Bulgari bath amenities, fluffy towels, robes, Frette linens on a very comfortable bed and quiet atmosphere all made for a perfect stay.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent with many choices.

A perfect ending to a not so perfect year and a perfect beginning to a new year.

We are already discussing our next stay even though we live 50 miles away,

I booked this hotel for a group that I was bringing to Houston for the opera. The Director of Sales was incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. Everyone in our group enjoyed their stay and raved about The Lancaster. Not only is the hotel conveniently located to numerous performing arts venues in Houston, but their service and amenities are top-notch. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and willing to assist in any way possible. The rooms were lovely with modern amenities and a historic boutique feel but you could tell the hotel had been recently renovated (in a wonderful way). They provide free snacks and beverages in your room that are re-stocked every day. Usually that means a bottle of water and one small snack, but they had a drawer full of a wide range of snacks and a fridge full of beverages. It was something you don't often see in hotels and was a lovely perk! I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere that expertly combines luxury with a personal touch.

Thank you Lancaster Hotel for your generous hospitality on our wedding night! It made for a wonderful ending to such a memorable day. Check in was a breeze in the beautiful lobby and the sweet touches like champagne and strawberries to our room were so thoughtful. The late check in upgrade was SO thoughtful and well received. Hi there. Depending on your personal circumstances Minute Maid is an easy walk to/from the Hotel. We went to a Ball Game there so, can speak from personal experience. After the game a lot of the streets were closed off so getting an Uber/cab might be difficult. Good luck!!
