Upon arrival, the valet greeted us and registration offered water and champagne. The hotel lobby, restaurant, bar and rooms are impeccable. Highly recommend the Penthouse suites! Kate and colleagues are engaging and knowledgeable about all things restaurant and cocktails. Whether business or an evening of theater, you will enjoy your stay. Top tier hotel and we will return with friends!
One of the best hotels I have ever patronized. Spent a week in Houston for a Conference and pleasure. Great location, classy setting, well appointed rooms, luxury bedding and incredibly friendly and accommodating staff! They all welcome you with a smile and a glass of Champagne! Special mention to Laura in the Front Desk who went out of her way to assist us with tours, places to go and anything else we may have needed to spend a pleasant stay. The bar and restaurant are cozy and hit the spot. If you want to stay in a boutique hotel in which they pamper you like royalty, this is your spot!
We were celebrating a birthday a birthday and was pleasantly surprised to have express complimentary sparkling wine and plenty of treats in our room. Everyone from the valet attendant to the bartender were super friendly. Especially Jesus, the guy who checked is in. Will definitely be coming back!
I spent 3 nights at the Lancaster with my 4-year old daughter and absolutely LOVED it. For the price, this hotel offers so much. Not only is the private art collection gorgeous and fascinating, the staff was one of the kindest and most gracious group of people I’ve interacted with. Their restaurant, Cultivated, is fantastic and the room service was lovely. Other perks: complimentary breakfast on their mezzanine (food was tasty, salmon and lox, eggs, bacon/sausage, pastries and fresh fruit, etc) and all their snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in the rooms are complimentary and replenished daily. They have a cardio workout room but they also have a partnership with an INSANE gym nearby so you can have access to state of the art equipment. The rooms are well decorated, clean and once again, VERY COOL ART by all-Texas based artists. There were so many travel issues with our trip the Lancaster was the ONE bright positive thing that happened and we are forever grateful for the beautiful hotel, the ease of the whole experience and the amazing staff. I particularly love boutique hotels and I love that this hotel is smaller and more unique then others. There are so many theaters and cool things within walking distance, the Houston aquarium is literally three blocks away and the location was perfect for us! We will definitely be back to the Lancaster.…
I usually would stay at a bigger brand hotel, but I've found my new go-to in Houston. The staff was exceptional - I had a terrific experience from the minute I walked in to the check-out. Everyone was attentive - the hotel is renovated, has a neat art experience, great bar and restaurant, and terrific breakfast buffet. And the location downtown was easy. I really enjoyed staying in a classic hotel with a personality.
I got married on Memorial Day Weekend and my wedding party and guests stayed at The Lancaster Hotel!! It was the best hotel stay I ever had! All of our guests were greeted with champagne and their welcome bags were all placed in their rooms neatly. We stayed in their 2 bedroom suite and anything we needed the staff so graciously accommodated. At one point, we needed wire cutters and we heard the walkie talks say "The bride needs wire cutters please send them ASAP!" That is how far they were willing to make everything right. My now husband and I are excited to spend anniversaries here and relive the amazing memories we got to make! If you are looking for a luxury hotel at a good price, look no further!
Lovely cozy dining. Great service! Absolute must have: Bread pudding dessert! Be sure to make reservations. Dress code: formal dining. My menu choices were: Fried Calamari and Five Onion soup followed by entree of pan seared Salmon and the ultimate bread pudding experience for dessert.
We loved this hotel. The decor, the comfort, the food, and the service was superior to most hotels we have stayed at in the past. What made this experience extra special was the friendly, helpful staff. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to accommodate any requests. I regret not getting the names of all the people who made this stay so positive, because everyone was so kind and welcoming. But a special thank you to Juan, Jesus, jesse, and Laura at the desk. All were so friendly and helpful. Thank you to all the food service and servers (David, Allan). We ate many meals at the hotel because the food and service was wonderful. The complementary buffet breakfast was perfect. The doormen, housekeepers, just everyone was so kind, making this trip a great experience. Also, if you are in town for anything in the theater district, this hotel is centrally located to all the theaters.…
We have traveled the world and stayed in many 5-star hotels, but this beautiful boutique hotel blew us away! From check-in with Jesus and Laura who welcomed us with a glass of cold sparkling wine, to our beautiful, well-stocked room, to a wonderful dinner at Cultivated F+B, to the delicious breakfast, everything was well thought out and made us feel welcome. Everyone we encountered made sure that we were well taken care of. We have already recommended The Lancaster to friends who are traveling to Houston, and we look forward to staying again whenever life brings us back to the Houston area. Thank you for an amazing experience!
We have been fortunate to travel a great deal and hotel stays include Taj, Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons. The service at this hotel is in that league. The welcome is warm, friendly, and professional from the front desk (Juan) to the bell staff, doormen, car valets, housekeeping, Most importantly, the General Manager, Mr. Tom Harwell, is actually out and about, talking with staff, guests and checking things like the complimentary breakfast buffet. This breakfast amenity was excellent and included bagels/lox, scrambled eggs, pancakes/wafles, yogurt, fresh cut fruit cups covered with plastic wrap, individually wrapped danish, hot coffee. Then in the room the refrigerator is stocked with complimentary beverages and snacks. The rooms are tastefully decorated and thoughtfully laid out. You felt at home, as if you are a guest, not a paying customer. Bathroom was immaculate with excellent lighting. Frette sheets and towels. If you are in Houston, stay here and experience what an excellent hotel is like.…
