The Omni is tucked back off of the main highways and local streets, so it is quiet, and yet has good access to the freeways. it has a spacious lobby, with lots of glass overlooking the landscaped area and pool. The service was great. The rooms were beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. My only complaint was having to pay parking fees every time you went in or out of the garage.
We loved it. Our room was gorgeous. We had excellent service. They provided complimentary wine and snacks for my 75th birthday. Loved lounging by the pool . One pool is heated and there is a beautiful pond with a fountain and a real black swan. Such a pretty setting in Houston.
This hotel was ok, the room was nice but the fact that they charge you for parking yourself is ridiculous. It's only 10 dollars more for valet parking so you might as well pay to have your car brought to you and parked for you each time. I was told at check in that the charge for self parking would be validated by using my rook key to enter the parking garage and wouldn't be charged upon check in. Then today I find that my credit card was charged for incidentals that I had to put on file. I called to find out why and was told it was for self parking charges. I asked why when what I was told at check in is that it would be validated and I wouldn't be charged. They said that wasn't policy. I asked should I parachute in if I ever stayed there again, I have never been charged to self park at a hotel before. I have stayed at other hotels that have self parking in parking garages and since I was staying at the hotel the parking was validated and I wasn't charged the posted parking fee. I asked upon check in because the fees were posted. This parking fee to self park when no other options are available are a hidden fee to rip off thier guest. I reccomend only staying here if you fly in and take a taxi or Uber from the airport or want to pay for valet parking as it's only $10 more and your car is fetched and parked for you. Plus they tested the back up power during my stay forcing me and the rest of my group including children to take stairs to and from the seventh floor to the lobby to exit and enter the building since the elevator was out during this test on Monday March 28th. The same day that we had to have a member of our group at MD Anderson cancer center to under go a procedure and was barley able to walk upon return to the hotel. No mention of this test and power outage upon reserving the room so we could have booked elsewhere to avoid it, only upon check in past the point of cancelation of the reservation to avoid a fee. I have stayed at many Omni Hotels in Fort Worth TX, New Orleans French Quarter, New Orleans Buisness District, and New York locations. Never have I payed for parking or had a test interrupt my stay as this experience played out. Never will I stay at an Omni Hotel again, so I will be canceling my Omni Rewards membership too as I won't be using it any longer. This one experience mostly due the parking fee charges have made my mind up. I know times are tough and hotel chains need revenue streams, but hidden parking fees without any other options when paying yo stay at a hotel is beyond ridiculous and a rip off of the customers that have chosen to stay at your Location. I would rather stay at a dump of a hotel then be forced to pay for parking because Omni Hotels found a way to collect more money. …
Above and beyond customer experience provided by Toan!!! Friendly, informative, funny, fast and efficient. Toan was able to tell us different places to go. If I’m ever back in Houston I hope to be able to find him!!!
Beautiful hotel, amazing service, great location. We were evacuated from hurricane ida for almost two weeks here at the Omni and it was a wonderful experience. Everyone was so helpful and friendly and the hotel is beautiful. Love the resident swans and the gorgeous pool and the uptown location is great and close to everything! Will definitely be staying at Omni again after this wonderful experience!
The property is conveniently located in Uptown near the Galleria, but tucked away perfectly to avoid the city noise. Beautiful hotel and grounds. The staff was friendly and overall service was fantastic. They went above and beyond to make sure that the stay was exceptional. Kindly upgraded to a suite and the room was perfect. Everything was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this property.
We had a medium sized convention at the hotel. The location was on the second floor has the meeting rooms. Very clean. Well done. The rooms were very nice and clean. The only downside is just one restaurant choice on site. And the food was not that great.
Nice large hotel. Room is really good but it would be very nice if there was a bottle of water available for free. Coffee machine was fine. Pool area looked nice but it was too cold outside now. Located ok beer highway. Did not try breakfast as it was not included in my booking. Front desk very kind.
When we arrived at the hotel the staff made us feel rushed as we were checking in. We booked two adjoining rooms but when we got to the hotel we were told that adjoining rooms were not available. We ended up with one facing the parking garage and the other facing the pool. The room facing the pool was smaller and was the same price as the one facing the parking garage. When we got to our room we found that the mini bar was empty and locked. If we wanted to replace it with a mini fridge we would have to pay extra while the room facing the parking garage had a mini fridge, bidet, and large bathtub. I was told that the room facing the pool was a better room because it was facing the pool which didn't make any sense to us because it had less. Some of the staff was really nice and some of the staff just didn't really seem to care. At one point we called the front desk to report that our toilet wasn't flushing to which I was greeted with "Yes!?, oh my god!" then the person hung up on me. The rooms smelled musty and needed to be updated. We also had to call for house keeping to come and clean our room. When we went to check out there was no one available to help us with our luggage so we had to carry everything ourselves. I have stayed at Omni Resorts before and I am a member of the club. This hotel is okay but doesn't deliver the Omni Experience they we are used to. Next time we are going to try another hotel. …
If you want a clean, quiet and luxury hotel, Omni Houston hotel is your choice. Located on nice and uptown neighborhood. Vallet parking is the good choice for your convenience. The staffs are so friendly and I got an upgraded for the pool views room. Highly recommendation to make a reservation through the hotel for Gold membership then you have daily drink at the Birdie Bar complimentary. I will stay at Omni hotel whenever I travel. Thanks for your kindness.
