We tried to use this hotel while in town for a medical emergency but were refused service. It was too much work for them to complete a credit card authorization form to pay for the stay. Even mentioning we were IHG members we were told that didn’t matter, and when asked if they’d rather miss out on money for a several night stay the answer from the manager was a rude and dismissive yes. A few miles away is a Wyndham hotel whose staff was more than helpful in processing the authorization form to set up payment and provide a place to rest. It’s unfortunate that people who are already in stressful situations would encounter such poor customer service.

As we have policies in place to protect our guest’s personal and confidential information it appears as though this situation fell into that category. A copy of the card holders Valid Driver’s License, copy of the credit card front and back and a completed authorization form with our letter head must be presented to adhere to our policy. Although this policy is strict and must be followed it is put in place to protect our guest’s personal and confidential information. I booked two rooms for us during the 2019 Houston Rodeo. We checked in about 3:00 and they had one room ready. I was told the room next to mine was being serviced. I said that was fine, we would all go into my room and change for the rodeo and move things over later. We got back to the hotel after 10:00 and they put my family several rooms down the hall from me. So irritated, but they didn't even apologize. Breakfast was still being served when I went down at 9:15, but when I went back to get some fruit and milk, I was told "we are closed. Breakfast is over." I said, "I just need some syrup." She scowled and pointed to them. Then she proceeded to repeatedly tell other people to "leave; breakfast is over!" She nor the hotel seemed to care that people were a bit slow on Friday morning. They just wanted us OUT!!

For the past year I've been a patient at MD Anderson and have found this particular Holiday Inn to be a great home away from home. The people who work here remember me and ask how I'm doing - and were helpful when I couldn't do some things for myself (like lift luggage, etc.). The place is clean, reasonable and easy access to the Texas Medical Center. They even offer a shuttle.

Our truck was broken into along with nine others during our stay there for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo even though there were “security” guards on duty. Supposedly the security guards were on break when this happened. No one ever informed us that our vehicle had been broken into, our truck was left wide open all night, the manager seemed unconcerned and had nothing to say except for that they have top notch security. On top of the already pricey hotel stay we were out $250.00 to have our passenger window replaced and more than half a day of our vacation ruined. Holiday Inn offered us no help, compensation, or concern. The police officer said this happens at this hotel all the time. I will never stay there again and do not recommend it. There are so many people that stay there while loved ones are having medical treatment. How awful it would be to be going through health issues and have to put up with something like that as well.
