Terrible experience We had two rooms, both smelled like cigarettes. I hadn't experienced this since the 1980's. Forget about any kind of service after 11:00 pm. Hotel staff disappears after that time, so no one will help you with anything either by phone or physically at the front desk. For a "luxury" hotel that charges these prices, I find that unacceptable. On our first night, right when I was realizing the kind of hotel we had chosen, I walked to the front desk at midnight no solve an issue with our room, only to find sn empty front desk and the front doors chained shut. Really???? Would not go back even for free. Avoid.

I usually do not review hotels (more a foody) but this hotel in the American landscape IMHO stands out from the decoration, a cross between Italian Palazzio and Disneyland [I am European, I cannot help it :-) ] but it is a successful mix in the end; Also the pool is so nice to escape Houston's heat. The staff is very very friendly, and it feels genuine. the rooms are very spacious, silent, and very clean. Walking distance quite a few really good restaurants of different ethnicities and steak houses. So if you want to treat yourself, a great option.

This is the most wonderful, with excellent quality of service and the attitude of all hotel staff to visitors!!!! Green corner in the heart of Houston:) I definitely stay here for every visit I visit, because for the price you pay, you get not only a great room with an amazing bed, delicious cosmetics and radiant cleanliness, but you get the warmest and most friendly attitude to yourself, a mind-blowing spa area with a swimming pool and Jacuzzi and very tasty cuisine I was extremely disappointed and upset about my departure and so short stay at this hotel, at other times I will definitely try to stay for a longer period of time and hope that all restrictions related to covid-19 will already be lifted, although this did not prevent me from enjoying accommodation in this grand hotel. Thanks to all the staff for the warmth of the meeting and the highest level of service! PS: I forgot my bathrobe in the spa area by the pool, I was in a hurry to the airport!

We ended up overall disappointed with our stay. My husband and I went here for our anniversary. They noted on our reservation that it was our anniversary so that they could "ensure we make it special." Upon arrival, our room had a bottle of prosecco and some desserts--a lovely surprise--that ended up being from my parents, not the hotel. Apparently they told my mom that they would gift the dessert, but then they charged her for both. They also charged us for both upon checkout. So, both my mother and I had to separately argue these charges with management. This most definitely is not a 5-star hotel for one main, painfully obvious reason: the staff is NOT willing to go above and beyond for you at any step of the way. Their "complimentary Maserati service" will ONLY transport you within walking distance of the hotel (3 miles). The desk told us "of course, let me go get him" and then the driver walked up and said "no, too far." I have never heard of a 5-star hotel blatantly refusing a service to a guest, especially over such a silly stipulation. Apparently it was simply too far for him to take us since it was 3.9 miles instead of 3.0 miles. Wow. Also, we checked the pool earlier in the evening to confirm what time it closed, and there were no hours posted. We even said "about time we stay at a proper hotel that doesn't suddenly remove amenities such as a pool just because of the time of day." Alas, when we tried to use it later in the evening, the pool was all locked up and we were not allowed in. Even when we requested access, explaining that there were no hours posted and we would like to enjoy a swim, we were again told "no". Again, I have never heard of a 5-star hotel saying no to a guest this much. We are paying enough that we should be granted these luxuries... we are not irresponsible children who are going to drown in the pool just because the sun is down. Also, upon reserving, I was convinced to spend extra on the room with a balcony because I told him how much we would enjoy sitting out there. Beware, if your balcony is facing South and you stay in the Spring, you will never get to enjoy it... the sun was shining directly on our balcony at all hours of the day. We also received the one balcony with no cushions on the chairs. I am glad others enjoyed the restaurant, but even that was an overpriced disappointment for us. For the record, our appetizers were delicious, as were our drinks from the bar. The service was wonderful until after they served us coffee, and then they forgot us. I had to stand up and look for someone to remind them we were still awaiting the check. My husband said his steak was a cheap cut, the mashed potatoes appeared to be made from a package, and my pasta bolognese tasted like chef boyardee. Essentially, we paid $750 for a hotel that was architecturally gorgeous but made you feel like you were at la quinta.
