Amazing staff from desk helper to security every one always smiling and ready to help with what's needed. Rooms were comfy and clean I will definitely be coming back and visiting. Security guard was always on duty observing everything and helping with everything
Hotel room was excellent. except for a palm tree blocking the view from the window. Should've been trimmed. also a stain on the ceiling above one of the beds. It looked like some one smudged it with a shoe. There was a hot breakfast along with waffles and cereals.
My co-worker and I checked in at the Hampton Inn on Sunday night (6/2/19) for a five-night business trip. Check-in was pleasant and the staff was relatively friendly. The next morning, I woke up with skin irritation and two small bumps. I figured that these were mosquito bites. I mentioned it in passing to my co-worker and proceeded on with my day. The following morning, I woke up with five additional bumps. I have severely sensitive skin and figured that I was allergic to the laundry detergent used on my sheets. I paid it no mind and continued on my work day. Midway through my workday my skin started burning. The bumps on my skin were red, swollen and became puffy. I couldn't continue on with my work day because I was in so much pain. My coworker drove me to urgent care. I described my symptoms to the doctor and showed him my bumps. He told me they were bed bug bites. I couldn't believe it. I asked him if it could be anything else, like an allergic reaction? He told me he was positive that the bumps were from bed bugs and that the additional swelling and irritation was a reaction to the bite. I informed him that I am staying at a hotel. He told me that bed bugs are normally transmitted in hotel rooms. He gave me instructions on preventing transportation of the beg bugs home and wrote me two prescriptions. I stayed up to 1:30 am laundering my clothes. Keep in mind I had to be up at 6 am the next morning. The next morning I went to speak with the manager, Brandon. The first thing he said was “can you show me the bug?” I said “no, but I can show you all my bites” We went back and forth for a while and he said he would go upstairs and perform an inspection. He came down after five minutes and said he didn’t see anything. He said that if I were bitten, there would be a blood spot on the sheets. I showed him the picture on my phone I took the night before. He was flabbergasted and said, “When did you take this, last night at 8:47 pm?” reporting out the time stamp on my phone. I said, “Yes, before I moved to the new room.” He accused me of doctoring the photo. I told I knew exactly where the blood spot is. I said, “let’s go upstairs, I can show you.” He refused. He insinuated that the bed bugs came from me. He was accusatory, defiant, aggressive, condescending, and very rude. The conversation wasn’t going anywhere and my coworker decided we should check out and find a new hotel. We went to the Hilton Garden Inn. Guess what? I have no new bites.…
