Stayed here for Thanksgiving. The hotel is beautiful and located near a bunch of fun bars in downtown. However, I was not overly impressed with this place, which is disappointing considering it was a 4 star. We stayed in one of their 4 executive suites, room 1202, and were very disappointed by the housekeeping services, but more so with the fact that we could hear the hum of the elevator all day and all night long. It seriously was very bad. I used ear plugs, headphones, and even resorted to downloading a white noise app at like 3 am, but could still hear it. It got less annoying around midnight when people stopped using it. But it picked right up at 6 am on the dot. No sleep. Horrible. Housekeeping took our towels the first night but failed to replace them. When I called down…
My wife and I enjoyed breakfast in the hotel restaurant and received excellent service from Driss and Rigo. They were attentive to our special requests and made sure we were taken care of, despite us showing up at the end of the time breakfast is served. Greatly appreciated the excellent service.
I've stayed at many 3 star hotels that offered better service. upon checkin we asked what are some of the restaurants around the hotel. the front desk said to look at the book in the room. The room furniture looked worn out. The tub faucet didnt work. we had to get our own luggage and take it to the room The towels are of a 2 star hotel. the robes are of some cheap material. very disappointing.
Some friends and i were in Houston for a wedding and all stayed at the Hotel ICON in downtown. Never having been to Houston, we though a downtown location with restaurants and bars would be good and we were not disappointed. On Friday night there was a ton of activity on main street with lots of bars and restaurants and people out. It was much sleepier on Sunday. The hotel itself is in an old bank and is beautiful building. The lobby area is stunning with its big safe and dramatic lights. We enjoyed the bartender as we had a drink at the bar to get started and then we went to settle into our rooms, Our room was spacious and had modern decorations, The smell reminded me of old European hotels and it took me a minute to place it as mildew, it was a pretty strong smell. The beds…
It is a very nice hotel in downtown Houston. It was perfect for my stay as I could walk to my meeting and food and drink spots at night. I loved the atmosphere of the hotel historic meets trendy. I would totally stay there again.
