Nice lobby, nice efficient staff & nice clean room. Unique & very fast elevators. Unfortunately, due to Covid, the hotel bar wasn’t in operation. The decor has a really cool vibe. We were a little turned around trying to locate the valet parking but a call to the lady working the desk gave us the directions we needed.
We spent New Year's Eve here 2020 for our 30th wedding anniversary. We booked a "junior suite". Not very posh at all. The room was not as pictured at all. It was larger than most regular hotel rooms, but the drapes were sad and cheap, the furniture was sad, banged-up and stained. The cold water faucet malfunctioned on the tub, causing it to leak all over the floor. The bathroom door handle fell apart in my hands the first time I closed the door. One robe in the closet, not two. (?) And the toilet ran unless you remembered to jiggle the handle. So I really cannot recommend it.
My wife and I spent five days at the ICON during the height of the pandemic (December 2020). Although the restaurant and bar were closed and daily maid service wasn't provided, we still had a great visit and would stay there again. We were able to walk to open restaurants each night. The staff were pleasant and professional. I look forward to a future stay when the restaurant and bar are open. It sure looked like it would be a fun place after the pandemic.
Wonderful Place full of history and charm. Wonderful people, John at the front desk was absolutely wonderful and the Valet/Bellman Esickial was more than accommodating and friendly. So very nice to be able to relax and enjoy our surroundings. Very Clean and secure!
The hotel is nice and the decorations make it look very fancy but the rooms are not that good. We had some trouble starting the jets in the tub and the shower did not get hot enough. The doors had dings and deep scratches and this sliding window inside the room was missing a knob. The rooms were clean enough but outdated, we had this old TV that takes forever to load the channels list and wasn’t even 4K and we paid $200+ per night to stay there. The staff were great though and even upgraded us for free as it was our wedding night. Available 24/7 and very respectful and helpful.
