This hotel has a lot of work to do beginning from the front desk to the valet. I was not greeted upon checkin. Instead, I was asked for my driver license and credit card. I was placed in a small room with no closet doors. The room was hot. There are no SMART televisions in the rooms. The manager moved us, which was nice and I felt that she was trying to make up for the other lady’s unprofessionalism. I thought it would get better. The next morning valet brought my car to the front. Valet parked my car in a spot that leaked. Not only did my car get rained on, but it also got the sediments that dissolved in the rain water on my car. Therefore, my new black car had white calcium deposits mixed in rain water. Instead of owning up to the mistake or that the garage leaks, valet claimed it was rain. Well, because my car is black, I invested in a polyethylene wrap, that makes rain water fall off, so when it rains, there’s no big deal. However, the wrap doesn’t prevent huge calcium deposits and rain. My car NOW has to be washed, buffed, and waxed to remove all of the dried gunk from the overnight parking. I would recommend not using valet and stay at a property that understands the meaning and purpose of valet services. So instead of going and having a calm brunch after checkout, I spent time making an appointment to get my car detailed and paint corrected.

Very beautiful hotel within walking distance to the Theater District, Discovery Green and many parks and restaurants. They offer a very convenient free shuttle to take you to nearby places and they pick you up as well. The decor is modern yet they have preserved some of the old architecture and features which is very cool. The roof top pool is small but the view is spectacular. We only ate breakfast at the restaurant and the quality was good. The service is excellent, especially from the waiters and valet guys. The rooms are nice size and the beds are comfortable. The only problem was that I requested a quiet room but they put us right next to the ice machine so there was noise all night long. When I told the front desk at check out they graciously added points to my Marriott account to compensate. Overall a great stay and I highly recommend this hotel if you need to be downtown.

I’m from Cleveland, OH. I was very excited to travel to Houston and spend my birthday weekend at this hotel. It is beautiful, BUT some of the staff doesn’t match it’s beauty. The front desk staff was fine when we were down there, valet was polite and helpful, but there were a few instances where some of the staff was rude for absolutely no reason. There was a breakfast team member, a shorter lady who’s name I don’t remember who treated me like I was going to steal the breakfast food. Admittedly, I wasn’t familiar with the “dine-in” experience and only seeing a full breakfast spread like I usually see at other hotels I assumed when I ask for my plate to get what I want they ask for my room number to charge my room or I give them a card to pay for the buffet, and serve myself, didn’t know they actually serve you. When I asked her for a plate she was very rude. Asking me questions instead of simply explaining the dine-in experience. They could also have a sign that says, “seat yourself, someone will be right with you.” She treated me like I wasn’t going to pay and stalked me on my way out. I wanted to take a few pieces of fruit back to my room she immediately stopped me and said we cannot take any food upstairs. I’ve worked at the Westin in Cleveland and we treated everyone the same, with the utmost respect. To be this overbearing about a process is unnecessary. Simply explain the correct way to do things in a polite way and don’t ASSUME I’m up to no good. I also feel there were a few other instances where I just didn’t feel welcomed. I also feel like the actual work environment might play apart in the way I was treated, maybe i’m reaching. Unfortunately because of this I will not be booking here if I come to Houston again in the future.

Went to the Ed Sheeran concert at NRG stadium and this hotel was the perfect place to stay. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable!! The downtown area had tons of bars and restaurants to chose from and we tried several. We used the Metro (redline) to get to/from the stadium and it was extremely easy to navigate and they ran extra’s for the event. We had very little wait time and only cost $4.00 each compared to the one Uber ride to a restaurant that was $39.00 (🤪) The bell man/valet named Gyasi was freaking fantastic!! This guys was so freaking nice. All of them were nice honestly but he took care of us. I think they pick their family/group and are super respectful of the other and just take care of their guests. And that was how it felt!! If the opportunity arises, we will definitely seek out this Marriott location to return to. Just a great experience. Oh yea - they shuttled us to the St Arnold Brewery for the afternoon !!!

We stayed at this hotel for one night after attending a play. We valet parked, and had a great time, BUT the next morning we went to checkout and get our car only to find out that our back passenger window was busted out in overnight. The valet assured us they would take care of it. 4 days later their insurance denied the claim. THE HOTEL WOULD NOT REIMBURSE OUR STAY, NO OFFER TO PAY FOR DAMAGES, NOTHING. WE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET OUR WINDOW FIXED. WILL NEVER STAY AT YOUR HOTEL AGAIN.

I have to say that George at the valet was super. Robert in the morning at breakfast was fantastic, and so was Tish in the evening! We were there for 5 nights and they treated us like royalty. Personable and friendly. They were 5 star all the way! However we stayed in a room that had a large metal piece sticking out of the side of the bed. It cut my wife’s leg up and my son and the bit got me. Stuck out about 4-5 inches. We were there for the robotics convention and they told us that we would get vouchers for breakfast there but when we asked again they said no. However all the other people in our group had them. No big deal except it was $20 a plate for the buffet each morning. All in all everything else was great. The pool was fantastic on the rooftop and the place was convenient. If it weren’t for the hospitality of the people mentioned I would not have stuck around for breakfast or dinner. The shuttle with George was nice. He was nice to talk to and informative. He was super nice to all our group.

Overall a very nice stay. Northon (hope I spelled that right) at the desk is amazing. What great service. Lobby is beautiful, restaurant is nice, breakfast was slow service but probably because it was one server on the floor for everyone, I was on the 4th floor and the hallways/rooms seemed a bit outdated but still nice. Ice machine was on the 7th floor so slightly weird layout for that. In the room the phone next to the bed did not work and the light up make up mirror did not work. No stayover service but I didn't check to see if they were still in covid protocols and not providing that service. Valet was nice seemed swamped when we arrived. I only saw one guy and no offer from anyone to assist with luggage. I honestly didn't know they offered luggage assistance until I was at the front desk at check out inquiring if they even had bell services. Turns out the valet do the bells as well. Again, Northon was a gem. At both check in & check out. Whoever was working with him at check out was incredibly rude. My fiancee asked where the restroom was in the Lobby. She responded "2nd floor" without looking up from her screen. I had stored our luggage before breakfast after checking out. When we were done and I walked up to retrieve the luggage she said "can I help you?" Without looking up from her screen and I then informed her I wanted to pick up my luggage as well as gave her my claim tickets. She went in to the closest and immediately came back out to ask me if I wanted to look because their closet was full. I gave her my ticket so she could look and match the ticket for me... thought it was strange to do the job myself. I can't say I'd return.

The rooms, the breakfast, the staff and the bellmen all so good. Love the coffee and cookies in the lobby each morning and each night. Thank you for our lovely corner suite that looks over our son’s office building, Kirkland and Ellis law. Whitney, Sharon at the front desk Bobby and Rogerila in the restaurant made it extra special. Blessed Easter to all!

A nice, clean, well-appointed hotel. The studio rooms are large and decorated nicely. The bathrooms are large with two sinks and an oversized tub. The only issue was that the bathtub drained very slowly. In the time it took to take a short shower, there was 2 inches of water in the tub. The staff is generally very friendly and accommodating. The one exception was the valet staff. Even though we did not rent a car, we could tell the valet staff was an issue. They did not greet any incoming guests and sat around in a way that showed they were completely disengaged. Location is nice if you are planning to attend a sporting event. Short walk to Minute Maid Park. Two minute walk to the rail line that goes to NRG stadium. We were there for the Final Four and could attend all events without renting a car. We had an issue one day of four with the maid service. Our room was barely touched. New water bottles were left, old towels were taken, trash emptied, but bed was not made. Sheets were pulled up but not tucked in and it looked like someone had been laying on top of the covers all day. Sink, tub, and floors were not cleaned. As a Platinum Elite member, I opted for the free breakfast option. I checked no fewer than 5 times about this, as it seemed some staff were confused over this. The waiters kept asking me for a coupon, which I did not receive at check in. When I checked out, the front desk said they could not print out an invoice but they would email them to me later that day. Again, they said I was not charged for breakfast. 2 1/2 days later, no invoice by email. I pulled the invoice from the Marriott website and found that I was charged for breakfast every day. Breakfast was pretty much average for a Marriott property. Lunch/dinner was slightly above average. I do need to commend the restaurant staff for staying open late for the weekend. The basketball games ended late. I was surprised to find that we could get food after midnight. that was a pleasant surprise that helped avoid the lousy food at NRG Stadium.

We stayed here for a family wedding with most of our out of town guests. It was fabulous! Eddie and staff made sure we were fully accommodated and comfortable! They went above and beyond from making sure the ever changing reservations were accounted for to making sure our every need was met! Everything went smoothly!
