I booked the hotel as it is within walking distance of the convention center in downtown Houston. The suites are basically furnished while the bed was comfortable. The "living room" of the suite had no windows and a pillow on the sofa was torn and the sofa had stains. The hotel has a policy of "housekeeping on demand", but, unfortunately, while I asked for housekeeping twice (on different days) nobody showed up. Overall, for the price charged by a Hilton-branded hotel, the experience was disappointing.
We had a great stay here. The accommodations and staff were wonderful. And location is perfect for the convention center (2 blocks) and Minute Maid Park (6 blocks). And so many wonderful restaurants in walking distance. A wonderful place to stay inn the downtown area!
If you need a place to stay while you go to an Astro game the Embassy Suites is in the perfect location. Nice easy walk to Minute Maid Park with lots of places to eat near by. The free breakfast that comes with the room at Embassy Suites was fantastic!! Made to order delicious omelets and a hot food line that is served to you is delicious. Rooms were clean and quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. The complimentary Happy Hour is a plus too!!
Nice hotel, very friendly staff, great breakfast. Ac in bedroom did not work very well, microwave was in French and took forever to figure out, room could have been cleaner. A little pricey but most likely due to the stadium tour concert. I would stay here again though
Our family got stranded in Houston due to flight cancellations. Tina was extremely helpful. She helped us get an early check in and late check out with a smile on her face. She could not have been nicer! I will definitely stay here again in the future! Thanks again Tina!
The room was clean and the AC did work very well. However, the light in the bathroom did not work, and when called to alert the front desk, nothing was done. The bathroom was completely dark and had no light. The room was 509 and the light was actually hanging down from the ceiling! No offer was made to move rooms. Engineering was gone for the day and was not able to come and fix the issue. Throughout the night there was construction noise I could hear which prevented sleep. I had a meeting there for 2 days and on the first day, the banquet captain did not come and introduce herself at all during the function. I only met her at the end of the day when I was still in the meeting room doing work before my team's evening function. I also was disappointed that the sodas that were used in the room were the value, super small size. I am billed on composition $3 per drink which I understand but it should have been normal size. It seems to me, that by serving small cans and charging the price the hotel is maximizing profits and serving unacceptable portions. The planning process for the meeting did not start off positive for the sales manager was not responding or sending me the complete information. The Director of Sales did take over after I sent an e-mail expressing my disappointment with the process. I planned a meeting in Dallas and received meeting planner points, again nothing was offered or reviewed with me. Also, when I planned the meeting in Dallas, the other property sent a note and 3 beers to the room for the appreciation of the booking. I know this is not guaranteed, but when a guest is shown appreciation even a small gesture ( guests) remember this and does impact our decision to return or not. My meeting was not large or expensive but I do have quarterly meetings and in order for me to give this hotel, another opportunity service and experience need to be improved. There are several other hotels in the downtown market.…
Great place to stay. Complimentary breakfasts at hotels are usually substandard, not here. Made to order omelettes and pancakes. Staff was professional and courteous. Loved the privacy of the room and the comfort of the room.
The rooms are horridly dated, the carpet is very dirty. The service and calling for help is poor. Asked for towels and it took 2 hours. Staff said it was dispatch’s fault. The only good thing is the breakfast. The breakfast staff is timely and attentive
I recently visited Houston for business travel in which I took my family( husband and two children) along. We arrived earlier than expected, therefore, requested and paid $25 for an early check in. The first room (17th) floor was terrible! It was dusty and dirty. There was a very questionable stain on the pull out couch and writing on the walls. The bathroom shower door appeared to have not been cleaned and there were still soaps from a previous stay. The carpet was also in very bad condition and had multiple stains. I asked to be moved and was offered the room right next door. This room also had stains on the pull out couch and even worse stain on the carpet from what appeared to be a blue drink or slurpee. Both rooms had very odd skunk like smells. The third (3rd floor) and final room we were offered was average but appeared to be cleaner than the other two. Carpet contained multiple stains and rooms are very dated and old with damaged furniture. There were no sheets for the pull out bed, only a old itchy blanket. When I asked for sheets I was brought three fitted sheets. We often took the stairs as the elevators took very long. There was trash and trays of food left for days. When we addressed it, we were told staff are allowed to eat there. Does that mean trash can be left as well? Front desk staff were not very friendly and forcibly empathetic. We will not return!…
We stayed here for the NRA annual meeting of members. The hotel was very convenient to the downtown convention center and allowed us to walk to the show every morning. There are plenty of restaurants very close by so dining is easy and enjoyable. I took a couple of walks near the hotel in the early morning just to get a little exercise, very nice area. The highlight was checking in and dealing with hotel staff. They were all so helpful and polite. Great representatives of the hotel. The area outside the hotel was very loud, we could hear music up until about 11 pm. Then it quieted down. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this hotel
