Detailed Reviews
My wife and I needed a furnished apartment to stay in during my radiation treatments at MD Anderson. We could not physically go look at the available apartments due to the Covid situation, so we had to select based on photos provided by the property and a face-time session of one unit. We moved in around mid-July to a unit that was assigned to us. It was absolutely filthy. Grease on the walls around the stove, all surfaces dirty, bathtub gross, door shelf guards missing from the refrigerator, rust inside the microwave (how it that possible?) etc. We reported our displeasure to the manager who did replace the microwave and resolved a few other things and had someone insert door shelf guards in the refrigerator; however, the guards were not very secure and I had to use duck tape to fix them. My wife and I spent hours scrubbing the place to make it liveable. We then told the manager that we simply could not live in that apartment, and we were considering moving. The manager offered us another apartment right down the hall. We were able to look at it and it was somewhat better than the apartment we were in. We did not really have the time or energy to look for another place and then move in there, so we took the other apartment at The Reside. Again, we had to do lots of cleaning on our own to include the balcony chairs that were filthy. We talked to several other people who had similar experiences. Bottom line: location to the medical center is perfect, but would not recommend it to anyone for the reasons stated in this review. The apartment manager, who we think is relatively new, did try to fix our issues, but the place needs a major overhaul.

This was an absolutely terrible stay. Firstly, the actual location looks absolutely nothing like the photos - quite the opposite actually. In a very secluded and odd area. Inside the unit was very scary and intimidating with dark lighting - not at all like the bright and sunny photos. I was only in the location for an hour and had to leave for a family emergency. I asked for a refund but it was declined and I wasn’t even able to get a refund for the 2nd night when I wasn’t even there! When I emailed, they actually told me to come stay again sometime!

My mother is a cancer patient at MD Anderson and had to have surgery on September 6. We stayed at an expensive downtown hotel which was amazing...but the commute was difficult with traffic and it was a traditional hotel room with dining options downstairs costing us an average of $25 per person, per meal with $40 per day parking. A friend of mine found this alternative for me after surgery, and it was PERFECT. Mom needed to stay in Houston for a few days once she was released, and my friend booked the condo for us for three nights. It had two bedrooms, two baths, laundry and a full kitchen/dining, so it gave us a sense of "home." The kitchen has a Keurig and there's plenty of dishes, so preparing a home cooked meal is easy! They even supplied the soaps and detergents. The laundry was very handy because we ended up staying twice as long as we'd anticipated and I needed to do laundry! It helped us to see how Mom would do outside the hospital before we returned home out of state. Mom didn't get released as planned with a few complications, so a text to Angela, the manager, and my stay was automatically extended at a great rate - I didn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops. The condo was very clean and we had everything we needed. It is gated all the way around with entry gates with codes for security. Once Mom was out, I was concered about the six steps up to the sidewalk, but there is a flat entrance around by the cluster boxes for mail delivery so we were able to walk right in without the steps! Angela found out our situation and made sure we had a lower level condo and truly took care of EVERYTHING. Kroger and CVS Pharmacy are literally right across the street. Parking is free. It was also very quiet. I was able to get some much needed rest, and prior to Mom's checkout from the hospital, I went ahead and stayed the night at the condo and got us situated. Angela checked in to make sure everything was ok. Beds were comfortable, too! The patio was nice and we felt safe and secure. The Uber was only $6.50 each way to the hospital, which was cheaper than driving and having to fight the traffic, and hunting for a rare parking space. This will be our go to spot for the future and we're so thankful for this property. The rates were very affordable - such a nice break for families that are already struggling with expenses to get care at MD Anderson. Thank you, Reside and Angela. You were truly a Godsend when we needed you most and are happy to recommend you to everyone!

I just finished an 8 day stay here while my significant other was hospitalized. I was grateful for the ease and uncomplicated stay as I was focused on my loved one and her needs. I was sent instructions for check in which worked perfectly as I checked in late at night. Everything was described before hand housekeeping routine... My visit went as expected with some friendly interactions that helped brighten a difficult trip. It was a calm and relaxing place. My room was clean, the pool calming and great signs posted so I didn’t have to ask. I was also able to walk to the grocery and other stores. Lekeshia did a great job and was pleasant and joyful. A great stay for a difficult reason. Thank you.

Amazing hands down the best home away from home. Luxury furnished, great service and most of all safe! Our family has been having a few rough months. But Angela the manager has always managed to accommodate our family, she has truly gone above and beyond to help our family out and put smiles on my daughter face. She is very understanding, compassionate, and willing to help out in any way. Always answers any questions promptly; very respectful. Great reasonable prices. No parking fees! I will definitely be staying here every-time my dad has his appointment. Thank you Angela! ❤️ We will see you soon God Bless!

My family was in Houston due to my mom having surgery at MDA. After arriving from a long flight, and a long uber ride, I was unable to enter the complex through the gate. I did receive one email in which Angela gave me the apartment # and key code, but no gate code. When I called to ask her how I can get in, she very rudely told me that the directions to enter were inclosed in the first email she sent. I said I did not receive an earlier email. She became argumentative insisting I had. I told her that I was at the gate now with an angry uber driver can you just please give me the code to get in. Again she insisted, "well I'm sure it's there if you just go through your email. Finally she let me in. FOR THE RECORD, I did not receive the email she was so unprofessionally trying to debate me on. (And yes, I did check my spam email.)
When my mom was finally released from the hospital she was ordered to stay in bed for a few days. We took her back to the apartment to recuperate. While there we discovered that not one of our tv's worked. My sister called Angela to ask if she could send somebody to help fix our tvs. Angela rudely replied "As you know we are not a full service hotel, I will see when maintenance can take a look."
With what my family was going through with my mom, there was NO need for such unprofessionalism and rudeness from Angela. She is the reason we will never recommend this place. And I cant believe she is not more empathetic to hurting families in need.

Beside the great staff (Angela and Chris), if you're looking for short-term, fully furnished (without having to lease your own furniture) home away from home; The reside is a great fit. As mentioned in the previous reviews, close to everything and importantly the Med Center with/ complimentary shuttle. We were there for a month and it was a relief to get out of the constant hotel traffic, noise, rotten coffee syndrome. Sit on a balcony, relax and take a deep breath from the hospital. Great people/great place.

Convenient location - close to med center, NRG, Galleria, and easy to jump on the 610 loop to get anywhere. Grocery store right across the street. Everything you need to stay for awhile, just like home! Being a female traveling alone, the secure, gated parking area made me feel safe. Did not use the fitness center, but it was right there. Great short term (or longer) housing option. I even brought my dog with me!
