The assistant at check in was pleasant, but beyond that, I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel. I transferred after the first night due to noise, lack of upkeep and general feeling of the hotel. The door next to mine was taped shut and mine had a huge dent across it, the shower was old and cracked (caulking, therefore mold) and the AC unit was under the window and so loud I couldn't sleep with it, so of course the room got warm. Also, I was on the 7th floor and the traffice was so loud outside my window, I slep with ear plugs and a pillow over my head and still couldn't sleep. The staff does try, but this hotel is what I would consider lower than a budget hotel.

The hotel is in bad shape. The rooms including the bathroom has quite a lot of wear & tear. The shower was not funcitoning properly. There is hardly a lobby where you can relax. The hotel is definitely not worth the price. I guess the only advantage of the hotel is its proximity to Galleria and lot of restaurants nearby.

The property is in terrible shape and the staff is well-aware. We have a large party at the property right now and we all are in total agreement that this place is a mess. Some rooms smell like dog urine, all of our rooms have sticky floors, everyone is complaining about A/C that does not work, phones that are dead, paint chipping from the shower floor (it appears they painted over the floor tiles of the showers - sooo weird), and paint flaking off the ceiling and ending up in the bed and on the floor just to name a few reasons this place is soooo horrible. The staff does not care and they are virtually non-existent. The security guard had to help us last night because the single night manager was busy dealing with another guest’s issue for like 30 minutes. In other words, the front desk was unmanned for a very long time. Good luck getting help with anything here. Breakfast items were even depleted by 8 am this morning and the staff was unapologetic. So, at least 8 of us have bailed and found accommodations elsewhere. Marriott - shame on you! You should close this place down until you can figure out what to do with this youth-hostel of a hotel.

We stayed for 4 days. The staff was very welcoming and pleasant. The hotel itself was quiet inside. You can hear a lot of the traffic noise. We were on the back side facing the school on the 9th floor. The room was clean and for the boutique size had a lot of books and crannies to put things. The mattress needs replacing, just very used. The toilet area was not well done (you can tell it was redone). When in the shower the water got out of the enclosure because the door did not meet the shower wall well at all (1/4" gap). Unfortunately, when we arrived back at the hotel around 630 our last night there an alarm was going off somewhere on the property. We did get a knock on our door at around 10:00 asking if we had been smoking (weed was insinuated) Wth. We don't and never have smoked. My husband is retired military and still works for the Fed Gov at a VA, I am a teacher....we certainly are not that dang dumb. Of course, the staff needs to check all complaints. When we opened the door we welcomed them in to see for themselves. The staff member was pleasant and apologetic. It was just the principle of it for us. Even though, overall we were fine with our stay.

Woke up to housekeeping knocking at 0830 am. Then she knocked on every door down the hall. Checkout is at noon right??? You can’t get out of Parking garage until front desk lets you out. So you sit and wait forever. Don’t recommend. Only stayed here because they were pet friendly.

Cannot say enough about the staff at Aloft during our stay. General Manager Derek was gracious and so very helpful to us upon our arrival. Also met a fantastic bartender in Ms. Blue and operations manager Mr. Nelson. Amazing people in a contemporary styled hotel in a great location!

This place and the city it resides in are a toilet. During our stay we got kicked out of the public seating area in the lobby because people apparently reserve this porta potty of a hotel for parties and then any guests unlucky enough to be here during one of these events is out of luck if they want to go to the bar or just relax and/or work. We relocated to another seating area but eventually had to leave there too when said party starting blasting obnoxious music at maximum volume. We retired to our room to find a toilet and a sink that did not work. We decided to try and watch television only to have to have the power go out. According to the front desk, the reason our plumbing didn’t work was due to the power and internet going out, because toilets are powered by the internet right? Once the tv came back on the tv could no longer access the cable channels and all we were left with was a tv that comically self fellated the gas station restroom of a hotel we are currently staying in. As a bonus, the room’s ceiling looks like it had its dry wall replaced by a blind school child wearing boxing gloves, and the office chair in our room looked as if someone had taken a liquid dump all over it. All in all this is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Houston is a disgusting toilet of a city and this hotel was the crap stained seat that rests on top of it.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at for the price I paid. On top of which, they have the audacity to charge $25 for parking for this garbage. I wanted to try something different but never again will I stay at an Aloft. Half the amenities weren’t available because the bar area was rented out for a party with DJ that was entirely too loud for the tiny hotel. No seating available for other guests. The rooms smelled horrible, the bed sheets were dirty, the power went out, the toilet wouldn’t flush and everyone at the front desk acted like this was normal. Sad thing is even after this review I’m certain no one at this facility will care.

Recently back in town and had a short 2 night stay here. The good: The location is ideal if you want to be near the shopping or dining options of The Galleria. The bad: Walls are thin, which if you are a light sleeper can be an issue. Water pressure was not great for my shower either morning.

There are SO many other hotels in the same price range that are MUCH nicer. Sheets smelled but not fresh! It’s very noisy -wish I saw those reviews before I booked. Staff is not attentive and there’s no restaurant. Garage is wide open to public not sure why we have to pay? Decor is hip but wearing out quickly. Waste of money but I did get a real early check in. Now I know it’s because they were barely booked. PR firm is great because the photo looks amazing.
