This place smelled nasty. It looked the the carpets in the halls hadn’t been cleaned in years. Had to have someone come to fix the TV and to get the heat working when we got to the room. Sconces with no shades, doors missing from the dresser, and drawers that wouldn’t even close. Coming back in after going out all you could smell was pot. Do not recommend this for the price.
We had a great stay as always. The hotel is located centrally to freeways and Rice Village and River oaks s as bd the Galleria. The hotel is clean. Nice rooms. Excellent staff and service. Excellent food and bar. I highly recommend this hotel and choose to come back monthly. It is also a great value.
This is definitely an "older" property and not one of the Hilton's best. However, it was clean and comfortable. The hallways smelled of age and cigarettes with stains on the carpets. The room was comfortable but needs a major refresh. I did appreciate how the shower always had hot water regardless of the time of day. The snack pantry needed a refresh and they were slow on the upgrade for a Diamond member, however, I was given a corner King which was an upgrade from the originally booked room type. Overall, was not a bad experience, especially for the price. The location is very convenient as well, especially considering how bad Houston traffic can be.
Close to downtown. Even in traffic Uber takes less than 20 minutes. Benjamin in the restaurant is amazing. Clearly loves his occupation and as busy as it gets, he never misses a beat. The food is excellent. Burgers, french dip, flatbread, and especially the salmon. Not sure who the dinner chef is he's amazing at.his job and always smiling. Desk staff are friendly, no matter the time of day, the lobby has comfortable seating, and the gym actually has a full set of dumbbells and a cable machine, not just treadmills and steppers. That's refreshing. I've been here 6 times and it's only March, so I feel qualified to review this excellent establishment.
I recently stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton Greenway Plaza in Houston Texas and had a negative experience. Unfortunately, my child unknowingly ordered a few movies without my authorization while simply playing with the remote. This resulted in a charge of $80 to my room. I was surprised to learn that there were no safeguards in place to prevent unauthorized charges, and that my credit card could be easily racked up without my knowledge or consent. When I approached the hotel staff about the situation, I was disappointed to find that they were unwilling to listen to reason or investigate the matter further. It seemed as though their policy was inflexible and lacked empathy for customers who had experienced accidental charges. As a consumer, I expect businesses to have reasonable policies in place and to be willing to work with customers in situations like this. Unfortunately, my experience at Doubletree by Hilton Greenway Plaza left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I would caution other guests to be aware of the lack of safeguards for rented movies and the inflexibility of the staff in addressing these issues.…
Hotel was nice and the stay was good. But my biggest issue was being overcharged not once but twice separately. My stay was paid through hopper and a day after we checked out of the hotel I get a charge for $180 from the hotel in which I called and they stated it was their mistake and I would be reimbursed 3-5 business days. The next day I get another charge for another $180 so I call again because I at best have $360 up in the air for 3-5 business days. Once again the two different individuals I spoke to said it was their fault for a second time and I would be reimbursed 3-5 business days. You would think they would of felt bad or obligated to at minimum free me from the parking fees from my visit, but they still charged me. Lol. Luckily both times I caught the charge soon enough to not get overdraft fees but they seemed they could care less the inconvenience my money being tied up for 3-5 business days was for me. Like I don’t have bills to pay. I had seen a review previously about being overcharged as well and just figured it was an outlier but sure enough it happened to me as well. So overall I would recommend taking your money and business elsewhere…
This hotel was great and the staff were awesome! Bree, Gladys, Sam and David are the BEST! Bree provided us with adjacent rooms and a beautiful view. Gladys allowed us to check in a bit early as I was not feeling well when we arrived. Sam and David were very nice and accommodating! I’ll probably stay here every time I’m in Houston and just hope the same staff is there. ❤️
I have stayed at Super 8 motels in tiny towns that were cleaner than this hotel. It’s a filthy, rundown dump that is in major need of an update. Blood (?) stains on the walls and other stains on the ceiling. We were in town only for a few hours and thankfully arrived late in the evening and checked out first thing in the morning. Had our stay been longer we absolutely would have found accommodations elsewhere. Also, the parking garage is difficult to navigate and is dimly lit (and stinks to high heaven).
Hotel was ok, rooms were nice, atmosphere was nice. But I can never recommend this or go back due to the fact they blatantly charged me twice for one night. I prebooked the room through expedia, then twhen i arrived the front desk attendant pulled up the reservation and decided to charge my card an extra 200 dollars. It has been a nightmare trying to contact them and any sort of imaginary billing department, its been almost a week with no resolution in sight. These front desk clerks are thieves, i have the card statements with proof but when I did reach the front desk they said they have nothing in their system that shows the second charge. Visitors beware
Benjamin, AKA Big Ben, was so engaging at the restaurant/bar. He really went above and beyond to make our visit pleasurable. He was so personal able, and really wanted to get to know his customers. He recognized us on the second night, and it was as if we were old friends. When you travel a lot, that warm smile, makes a difference.
