I feel like we got a sneak peek of the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 movie - in that certain aspects of this hotel felt like a hotel from 1984 - as follows: * there was no outlet near the desk - where do I plug in my laptop? * there was no USB port in the room - even the most basic hotels have this in 2020 * there was no keycard reader in the elevator for security - anyone could walk in and get to any floor * the heating was cold - at 72 - at 74 - at 77 - and when I called the front desk they said it was broken and would be fixed in a couple of hours and they'll send a couple of blankets. The one blanket they sent was like a sheet, and the heating was still not working as of the next morning * The towels were not in the shower/toilet area - one has to open the shower 'room' door to get them - they should be in the shower area * I could not find a news channel in the list of channels On the positive side, it looks great when you enter, it is kept very clean, the gym was nice, and the hygiene measures were very good (the remote was wrapped and sealed). But, given all of the above, I can't believe that this is a Hilton...actually, I can't believe that this is any hotel in 2020...…
Recently stayed at Doubletree Greenway Plaza, while facilitating a meeting in Houston. Meetings, for me, mean long days and very little energy to take care of things like dinner afterwards. I was so pleased with the friendly room service I received from Benjamin every evening! My food was delivered FAST and always with a smile. What a nice way to end a very busy day. Thank you, Benjamin!
This is a newer Doubletree designed to cater to business travelers. The room was updated and clean. The location was not great to walk to restaurants. It appeared to be in the middle of an office park. Parking is in the underground garage.
We stayed here for our anniversary and it is not what I expect from a Hilton brand. First of all, the parking garage is very confusing. I accidentally walked out of the wrong door from the hotel with no signage indicating the door would lock and wandered around the parking garage for 20 min until I found my way back. I had to crawl under a concrete beam, that’s how lost I was. Everything was closed, which the app didn’t indicate at all. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. The small area with drinks for sale was basically sold out but the front desk did give me my honors bag with 2 waters. I usually have that waiting in the room but it’s ok. The ice machine on the 16th floor smelled like death. Elevators were filthy. Our entire stay there was trash and a half a taco in the elevator that never moved. There was visible snot on our shower curtain that we didn’t see until the morning of check out. The Houston magazine in our room was sticky, as was the remote. The pool was PACKED with people, couldn’t even see the water. Hallways were stifling hot and the pillows were flat. We ended up staying only 13 hours because of how uncomfortable the bed was. And then we got trapped in the parking garage because our exit ticket didn’t work. Had to call for help. What should have been a nice anniversary weekend turned into a “let’s go home so we can shower this hotel filth away” weekend. I stayed on points and only paid for parking but I wish I’d just paid for another room. …
Centrally located to places I needed during stay. Smell outside door not pleasant. Parking deck dripped chemicals that jacked my paint job up. Costly repair from my stay. Overall stay was very pleasant!
