The positives of this hotel are its convenient location to the Greenway Plaza (my firm has an office location in this area so it is easily walkable) and the front desk staff are friendly, professional and polite. Check in and check out were fast and efficient. The negatives of this hotel are with the actual rooms. The hotel rooms are in desperate need of a renovation or a refresh. It feels like staying in a hotel from the 1990s. The walls in the hotel room and the bathroom were marked up / scuffed up. The ceiling in the toilet/shower area had obvious water damage that has yet to be repaired, most likely from a water leak in the bathroom in the hotel room on the floor above. Even the ceiling in the sink area of the bathroom was dirty and needed a wipe-down as there were hairs stuck in various spots all over the ceiling. Also, be aware that this hotel is very close to the interstate (I-69), so while it is convenient for accessing the highway, there isn't much soundproofing in the rooms so you'll hear the highway traffic noise throughout the day and night. Light sleepers will definitely need earplugs to help reduce the noise somewhat while you sleep.…
The Hilton at Greenway Plaza was clean, comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. The room was spacious and had all the amenities I desired. I would stay there again. My only difficulty was the parking at the entrance. It was very crowded when I was checking in. There is not much short term parking available.
I booked the hotel through smartertravel and everything got confirmed before my arrival. But when I got there, it took them 1 hour to check me in. That was not the worst part of it. The parking saga really made me sick. We paid the first night parking. But we were told later that we can just pay 26 dollars a day and that will be put on our room when we check out. We stayed 6 nights and when we checked out, they insisted to charge us 6 nights parking. But we already paid the first night. They told us we were not supposed to do that. The room barely functional and the receptionist were rude.
We had a great stay as always. The hotel is located centrally to freeways and Rice Village and River oaks s as bd the Galleria. The hotel is clean. Nice rooms. Excellent staff and service. Excellent food and bar. I highly recommend this hotel and choose to come back monthly. It is also a great value.
Hilton hotels seem to be on the downward slide . . .this Doubletree was old, tired and dated. Check-in was easy and the front desk staff friendly. The hallway smelled rank . . .my room did not thankfully. The room is definitely outdated. Pillows way too soft (obviously this is personal perference) One dresser even had a big chunk knocked out of one of the drawers. The room seemed clean and it was quiet since I faced the enormous courtyard. The water pressure in the shower was probably the only thing I really liked about this place. It was full on strong. Breakfast buffet (on a similar par with what you would find at a Hampton...) was $18. Opted out of that. Didn't use any amenities. Starbucks barista on the cranky side - - maybe she was having a bad day.
being a diamond member never got a thank you during check in. After going up to the room realized there is no water in the room so came back down to only get 2 bottles(small ones) although i had booked 3 rooms. Food bev credit was not applied have to call them.
We booked a block of rooms for my Dad's funeral. It was very cold with temperatures near freezing outside. We were freezing in our room. We called the desk and they said they will send an engineer up to get the heater working. No one ever came. The second night we called again. They said they would send up a blanket and contact an engineer. The flimsy light weight blanket had a hole in it!!!! No engineer ever showed up. Never again will we stay at this "hotel"
I stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past and this review is for this experience only. Starting with the valet guy who was quite rude and asking for the car keys before I was able to check in and grab my language. I don’t know if he had a bad day but I had to mention him couple times not to move my car because my luggage was still in the car. The hotel staff were friendly and they checked me in quite fast. They also offered me two cookies instead of one ;). However my bad experience started when I got into the room. When I looked at the bed, you can clearly see that the bed was made but the sheets were not washed. To make the matters worse, the sheet had nasty spots all over (see pictures for details). After that, i went downstairs and asked for another room. The hotel staff didn’t believe me that the room was so bad until i showed them actual pictures ( keep in mind that i have diamond status which means i stay a lot at hilton brand hotels). Finally they switched the room which had a clean sheets and the same type of view as previous room. However, when i went to take the shower, there were no soap in the bottle and the water was barely warm at the hot setting. In addition, this hotel does not believe in COVID-19 since none of the antibacterial devices were working or had anything in them. I mean, none of them ( I probably tried 12 of them) Amenities; so I went to the gym and it’s a quite a small gym compared to the size of the hotel. Six people were working out and it was not room for me and i had to come back later on in the day. I checked out the pool but the water was too cold since is an outside pool. In summary, this is the last time i will stay to this particular hotel due to above mentioned reasons. …
Fairly priced for a clean and well kept hotel. The staff for courteous and there were plenty of amenities. Unfortunately, the Starbucks was closed, but other than that, I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Houston.
Like I already stated… we were given the wrong room key, the comforter was dingy and old looking, the shower water was warm at best , and the elevator going down was broken on the day that we left. Very disappointing.
