Stayed here for one night during a layover and expectations were exceeded. We were upgraded to a larger room based on platinum status and enjoyed a exquisite breakfast in the morning. Our room was comfortable and spacious - bed was one of the best! Service was top notch. I needed some over the counter medicine before our evening flight and the concierge promptly assisted me and had someone run over to a local pharmacy to pick it up. Area around the hotel is nothing amazing, but this hotel is worth staying at if you can. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at the St. Regis Bal Harbour recently, so will not be going out of our way to stay at this chain in the future. Wish this brand was more consistent across the country and world (we've stayed at 4 of their hotels in 3 different countries).

My brother lives at The Ivy just down the street and didn't have enough room to accommodate our entire family for Christmas, so lucky us.... he reserved a room at The St. Regis. I had never heard of this specific hotel chain, but trusted his judgement :) he was spot on.
We originally were introduced to their Superior Guest Room with a King Bed and were very impressed. But then we were upgraded to the Astor St Regis Suite and were blown away. Very lavish and and classy.... to say the least. The butler service was amazing!
The hotel itself is also beautiful. From an impressive entrance, to a beautiful lobby area, to the comfortable common areas.... I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely professional and helpful as well. Thank you for making our Holiday stay so wonderful!

We had a comfortable stay at the St Regis, the room was large and clean and every staff member we interacted with was wonderfully helpful and friendly. The town car (that we took to the Galleria) was a nice touch, and the gym was clean, modern and well equipped. The hotel lobby is beautifully furnished and very modern and clean.

Our only gripe was with our room itself, whilst being large and clean, we felt it lacked what we would expect from a hotel at this price point. The shower pressure was poor, however the amenities were plentiful and a great quality. The bed was comfortable, but felt like you needed a ladder to get in to it (my wife, 5’5”, had to take a running jump!). Turn down service was advertised but we did not receive it, nor were there slippers or dressing gowns in the room. The room itself also felt tired, and in the need of a facelift.

Overall we had a great stay, we just feel the room could do with as much love as the rest of the property.

This is a beautiful, traditional hotel and I’ve enjoyed many stays here. But it is beginning to show age and starting to feel a bit run down. Staff was nice as always, and beds are super comfortable. However, we requested adjoining rooms but weren’t given them, even though it was obvious both of our rooms were capable of adjoining had we just been placed side by side. The hotel was obviously not full, so I’m not sure what happened there.

I understand certain restrictions apply due to COVID, but wish we had been warned ahead of time that there was no room service and the on-site restaurant was only open limited hours so we could have brought our own snacks or planned ahead. We were traveling with children and this made meal time difficult as there were no good options close by within walking distance, no place to purchase snacks, and the one meal we ate at the on-site restaurant was ridiculously overpriced and mediocre at best (although the service was fantastic, the food just wasn’t very good.)

I went to store leftovers in our room fridge since there were no snacks available anywhere and the fridge was filthy (see photo). The rest of the room seemed clean, but this was a bit disturbing during a time when extreme cleaning precautions should be taken. The furniture is visibly worn and needs to be replaced or refinished.

All in all still a pretty hotel, but for the astronomical price it desperately needs an update. There are much better options in Houston.

This has been my go-to hotel for years while traveling to Houston for business. Stayed twice this month after taking a break because of the pandemic. The hotel is looking very tired. Because of restaurant construction, the bar is now the restaurant during the day and bar at night. The restaurant is terribly understaffed. The rooms are clean but not have been swept of nice amenities due to Covid leaving them very cold and sterile and exposing wear on the furniture. The outside of the windows are VERY dirty as they have been for years but on a relaxing, personal trip they are somehow much more noticeable. Please clean the windows! Billing reconciliation takes about a week with multiple charges and credits to on your card until they all resolve—inexcusable. Valet parking is $40 per day with no option to self-park so multiple people are in your car during a pandemic.
Very bad customer experience. Not up to St Regis standards! Time to find a new hotel in Houston. Sad.....

Stayed here for 3 nights the first time in years on a recent 3 night trip back to Houston. The front desk staff were great, friendly and efficient but the hotel itself is in desperate need of updating.

The room (Astor Suite) was noticeably dated and dark, very small bathroom counters, tiny shower and lacking in plugs for electronics in the living room.

We went to get a drink at the Remington after dinner (on a Saturday and also a Sunday) and it was just sad... no one was in there except for us, we just got wine and a cheese plate was decent enough but there were a few almonds thrown on it which were completely inedible and stale. The waiter was wonderful and so friendly but the place just felt sad, dated and forgotten.

The staff are great, the location is fantastic, but if it wants to compete or even keep up, it just needs some money re-invested into it to update it and modernize it.

I was in town on business and stayed one night at the Regis. The front desk staff was awesome, I was a weary traveler. Room service sent up a perfectly gorgeous amenity plate with champagne, fruit, and a chocolate designed state of Texas. Yummy! The bed was super comfortable and it was very quiet, wonderful night. Also, the location is perfect for tourists that want to walk around a great area.

The front desk was super friendly. The hotel is dated, rooms are nice and clean however look a bit tired. Depending on the location of the room, it can be quiet. Dinner was nothing great, breakfast a bit better.

We arrived early at the hotel, so we understood that our room was not ready. We went out for lunch and came back and waited in the bar. The desk clerk and the concierge kept checking with us and apologizing that our room was not ready even though it was only 2pm. They ended up accommodating us beautifully. Tina in the restaurant deserves extra kudos for a job well done. The hotel is gorgeous and so peaceful, I didn't want to leave it to go out and tour Houston.

Recently I stayed 2 nights at the Houston St. Regis. This property is one of two hotels I normally book when going to Houston.
The St. Regis staff once again was on point providing excellent customer service from the Valet, Front Desk and Restaurant. I was so pleased to see that James was still working the breakfast shift in the Remington Restaurant. His level of service is top notch while not being intrusive or over bearing.
Check in was easy thanks to Brad. My gold status enabled a room upgrade for me, which was most appreciated.
The Remington Bar can get very crowded and VERY loud on a weekend. Our attempt to have an after dinner drink was not successful due to the size of the crowd and noise. The bar does have a seating area behind the bar where a wall does diminish the noise level somewhat. The challenge is getting service as line of sight to the bar staff is a bit difficult.
I will continue to use the Houston St. Regis as one of my hotels of choice and once again highly recommend their property. The location can’t be beat.

There are other self parking options beyond valet and there appeared to be street parking too. I am not sure what the price is for these options.
