Detailed Reviews
Our recent experience at Inn on Lake Granbury was wonderful! From the moment we arrived until our departure, we were relaxed and comfortable and felt at home. It afforded us a peaceful, serene retreat. I believe that the owners genuinely care about their guests experience and that this is the cornerstone of what makes staying at this inn so appealing. They foster an environment that focuses on ensuring that each guest has the best experience possible during their stay. Jim and Cathy are gracious and thoughtful hosts who, along with their staff, provide exemplary service.
The inn offers beautiful scenery. It is a prime lakefront property perched above Lake Granbury. There is gorgeous landscaping throughout the property including a vast array of beautiful, well placed trees, plants, and flowers. The grounds are immaculate.
We observed superb, thoughtful touches throughout the facility, including high quality furnishings and tasteful decor. We stayed in the Belle Starr room in the main house. The premium king size bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was ideal for us. It included a large jetted bathtub and a separate shower. The woodwork and stonework in our room and in the main house are stunning. Examples include built in bookcases in the parlor and travertine floors in the bathroom.
We enjoyed short, relaxing walks to historic Granbury Square, including to a German restaurant (recommended by Jim) for dinner one night. We swam in the inviting saltwater pool in an oasis-like setting with a nice variety of lush trees, plants, and flowers. We enjoyed swinging on the wooden swing that is set among majestic live oak trees overlooking Lake Granbury as well as relaxing on the recliners on the dock.
Breakfast was excellent each day. Each meal included scrambled eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit plus a savory side dish and something sweet. Tasty appetizers were delivered to our room each evening. Jim provided us with our preferred refreshments during our stay.

Inn on the lake in Granbury provided an excellent stay for us as it was comfortable, clean, and full of great amenities! Breakfast was very tasty and the owner was on site and very attentive to making sure we had a great experience. Overall a beautiful place to stay and so comfortable!
The location they to the lake gives them an amazing view of it on a hill with a swing.
The bathrooms with the premium showers and two-person tubs were also very beautiful and relaxing to use.
Definitely will be coming back in the future when visiting Granbury with a high recommendation to anyone looking for a place to stay in this town.

We just returned from an overnight stay at the Inn. The owners/operators of this mini resort really pay attention to details. The rooms were very clean, comfortable bed, awesome bathroom, and lots of mood lighting options and beautiful views off our balcony in the Lake Loft Suite. Jim and his wife were very accommodating to all of our food allergies for breakfast. The early evening appetizers and moscato lakeside were a perfect touch. All the grounds are taken care of very well and the landscape design is beautiful. The pool area feels very tropical and we spent the majority of our stay there. It has plenty of benches and shady spots. They have an amazing swing right by the lake with a beautiful, breezy and shaded view of Lake Granbury. I would highly recommend this property and we will be back. This property has provided above and beyond the typical B & B. Including but not limited to: in room ice machine, steam shower, coffee with fixings, in room stereo system. BUT, hands down the best part is that it was adults only...loved that the most.

We booked two rooms at this beautiful bed & breakfast resort on Lake Granbury for my wifes 40th Birthday. The Inn has lots off awsome options to add special, reasonably priced details which I took full advantage of to make the stay extra special for my wife & mother in-law. The view from the Comanche Peak room's balcony was so great! The pool is really amazing and the sun dock on the lake is a really great place to relax among the rest of the cozy spots on the grounds. We really felt comfortable and spoiled by the owners with all the attention to detail they put into our stay. Our rooms were 1st class among the rest of the pristine grounds. If you want a small town but 5 star getaway experience I would highly recommend staying here!

We so enjoy the attentive and exacting service Jim and Kathy hold standard at the Inn. We had a package with our stay and enjoyed dinner reservations, expedited checkin, in-room massage, a beautiful spa basket, delicious breakfast, and a quiet stay. I had a day off to enjoy my birthday but my husband was able to work remotely from our location. I so enjoyed the steam shower and played my favorite music on the surround system, then put on a face mask and binged 90s movies and champagne in front of the fire. Later we took a quiet stroll by the lake and enjoyed the Biergarten experience on the square. There was a cute boutique nearby to check out, and a lovely bistro for healthy lunch! Jim and Kathy arranged for a wine service with canapés at sunset which was such a hospitable touch. We observed safety protocols being followed which was a great comfort on an overnight stay. Cant wait to return and visit this lovely serene spot again!

My husband and I were meeting friends in Granbury for a weekend getaway. The plan was to stay at the Inn on Lake Granbury. Upon arrival we discovered due to a mix up in reservations, my husband and I only had one night (Saturday) reserved instead of two. Cathy, the innkeeper, did make several calls to try to find us a room for Friday night as her inn was completely booked with no room for us. There were other people checking in, and of course she needed to help them. However, it seemed clear she was frustrated in trying to help us. We ultimately found a lovely room at a place she hadn’t called. Cathy did say she would ask housekeeping to clean the room we were to be in first on Saturday morning so we could check in as soon as possible. We appreciated that, and it was helpful since we were moving between locations. We contemplated just staying at the other place both nights so we wouldn’t have to move, but Cathy let us know her cancellation policy was in force, meaning we’d be penalized further than just inconvenience if we went that route.
The grounds of the Inn are lovely and well manicured. It rained the entire weekend, so we weren’t able to spend time outdoors, but no doubt that would be enjoyable in better weather. Our room was on the ground floor of the main house and had its own private entrance, adding convenience. However, the bed was less than comfortable to us. It was technically two twin beds put together to convert to a king bed. I’m 5’ 8”, and even with my head at the very top of the bed, my feet hung off the end and touched the (cold) iron foot board. My husband is over 6’ tall was quite uncomfortable in the strangely short bed.
There was a nightlight in the bathroom that was a sort of flashlight, and it was quite bright and shone right at my head. I couldn’t sleep until I got up and unplugged it. Then the bathroom was very dark for the middle of the night trips, which was unsettling in an unfamiliar setting.
Our room opened out into a common room where breakfast was served and snacks were kept. While it was a lovely area, the ice maker was literally up against our door, so we were awakened by other guests using it both early and late.
Overall it was a decent stay, but we expected better for the rates the Inn charged. We love Granbury and will be visiting again soon. We’ll return to the other place we stayed on Friday night. It was a good bit less expensive and many times more comfortable with absolutely delightful innkeepers.

Response from , Owner at Inn on Lake Granbury
Responded May 5, 2021
This reservation and stay was intended by this couple to be a 2 night weekend getaway. Unfortunately. it was made online only for Saturday night, even though the guest thought it had been made online for Friday and Saturday nights. The confirmation email the couple brought with them confirmed it was for 1 night - Saturday night. Once this couple realized this at check-in, we tried for 20 minutes to help find a place for them to stay for Friday night. We searched multiple local options and made a reservation online for them at a nice property for Friday night. We also called the other property to give them a heads up this couple would be coming to stay. The next day the husband thanked us for finding them a place to stay for Friday night, which we appreciated. Since their friends were staying here in the Cottage for 2 nights, we delivered appetizers and wine to the Cottage both Friday and Saturday in the late afternoon so this couple and their friends could enjoy it and spend time together. With regard to their room, when the stay was booked in February, there were other available room choices at different price points that have king beds and larger spaces with jetted tubs, and separate showers. The room that was chosen and booked is the only one at our Inn with twin beds that can be made into a king. We do this in this room to allow couples to have 1 bed or allow other guests to have two separate beds. It is popular with ladies traveling together. (Twin beds are made slightly shorter than king beds). All of our other rooms, suites and houses have king beds. If a guest chooses not to use the nightlight, the bathroom lights can be dimmed if low lighting is needed for night time use. Our full breakfast is either delivered to guests or served in our breakfast room at two top tables. We are disappointed this couple won't be coming back. We do our best to please all of our guests. We are very thankful for all of our guests who enjoy their stay, review us so favorably (thank you!) and really like the Inn's lakefront location, comfort, service and amenities. We wish this couple the best. We are glad too they made a lasting connection with the property owners they stayed with on Friday night, and will come back to Granbury.

Small inn on Granbury Lake, our Lake View Suite was very private, nice lake views, great breakfast and evening wine/snacks included. I think all the suites have stairs. Ours had refrigerator, ice maker, really nice tub and shower with steam. Blue tooth speakers in bedroom and bathroom. Grounds are pretty and relaxing, swing and hammock looking over the lake. 3 blocks - Walking distance to town square with shops and restaurants.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn on Lake Granbury in January 2023 to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful weekend and really enjoyed the Inn!
We stayed in the Lakeview Suite. At check-in, we were shown around our room and given some instructions (for using the TV, etc.) which was very helpful. The room was beautiful, smelled really good, and had a nice view of the lake. We especially appreciated the mini fridge with complimentary soda and water, the large shower with rainfall showerhead and side jets and wand and steam feature, the Bluetooth speakers in the ceiling, the Roku for the TV, and the fireplaces in the room and bathroom. It's an awesome room!
The property is very nice. We enjoyed sitting on the Adirondack chairs and swing and taking in the gorgeous views of the lake. We really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub under the moon and stars. We liked that it's located away from the main pool area and closer to the lake. There's also a hammock, small dock, and fire pit, but we didn't use those during our stay.
A really nice perk is that the Inn offers complimentary wine and appetizers every night at 5:30pm delivered right to your room. We really enjoyed this treat!
We were also pleased that the Inn owner texted us to ask us how we were doing during our stay and to let us know that we could text or call if we needed anything. I love the ability to send a quick text instead of having to call or visit the front desk.
We would absolutely recommend the Inn on Lake Granbury. We hope to be able to return for another stay soon!

My son and his bride were married at the Inn at Lake Granbury last Monday 10/19/20 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the grounds of this lovely property. The proprietors, Cathy and Jim, were amazing in delivering absolutely everything that was needed to make this event a great success. This included the wedding setting with flowers, decorations and archway under a beautiful tree right near the lake, music for the wedding, a wonderful seated reception dinner, all flowers, wedding cake, and music played from a playlist the bride arranged for both the wedding and reception. I could not have imagined a more perfect wedding for my son and his bride. While we live in Plano, TX, I am so glad we found the Inn at Lake Granbury because Cathy and Jim provided an extraordinary, intimate and beautiful celebration for our family wedding. Extremely affordable as well. We were very pleased with the fact the price of all of the wedding and reception was very reasonable and a great value, being much lower than larger wedding venues. The cost of a deposit at a large wedding venue was the same as the entire cost of the wedding and reception for our son and his bride at the Inn at Lake Granbury. We are extremely happy clients!
The room accommodations were first class with wonderful comfy beds and impeccably clean rooms. The breakfast each morning was excellent! We will definitely be returning for more visits in the future.

A friend had recommended this place. I booked three weeks in advance. We could only do one day due to busy schedules. We did not know what to expect due to this being our first time at a facility like this. This place is beyond amazing. This facility is tranquil, quiet, peaceful, private, clean, and beautiful. The location is perfect, it is a 2-minute walk from the square. The breakfast was delicious, perfectly cooked eggs, bacon, hashborwn casserole and a fruit cobbler. At 5 oclock they brought complimentary wine and snacks that were very good. This place really makes you feel like you are special. I highly recommend this Inn for anyone wanting a quiet getaway. Our room was in the main house and it was very clean. Our bedroom had great blackout blinds as well as curtains. It is very well decorated. The bathroom was amazing, the jet tub is highly recommended. As well as the shower. Our bed was so comfortable, my husband and I both slept amazing and felt very refreshed when we woke up. They go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. We used the jacuzzi outside as well as the swimming pool. It was very nice because there didn't seem to be many people around so we felt very comfortable and private. The views are breathtaking my favorite place was on the tree swing overlooking the lake. We will definitely be recommending the Inn on Lake Granbury to everyone we know. We ourselves will be revisiting soon.

We do not have an elevator. The stairs are wide wit handrails on both sides if needed.
not sure when we were in town we were able to eat on patios and go to the Antique stores on Highway coming in
Yes, we are.
Yes, you can rent Kayaks at the Lake Granbury Marina which is a short drive from the Inn.
Hi Connie! If you like wine they have several wineries that do wine tours. They also have a beer tour if someone in the party likes beer!
The downtown square has lots of diverse shops and opera house has different things that come in and perform. On their main web page for the town, you can dig and get the calendar for who is performing.
There is a ghost tour, didn't get to do that this time, but will do it next month!
There is a public city beach not to far of a drive and on that web page, you can find out about all the things you can rent, do, etc!
Hope this helps.
