Detailed Reviews
I have been visiting this site for nearly a year now and have stayed multiple times over multiple weeks and weekends. The staff are always friendly and helpful when I have a need for something. The rest rooms and shower facilities are always clean and the water is piping hot. The community areas are large, clean and welcoming. The 2 pools are used very often by lots of campers but will be closed on a weekday to allow for proper shocking and cleaning. The surrounding wooded areas and lake front allow time to walk and relax around the property. There is laundry facilities but I haven't used those so can't comment. I will definitely be back

We stayed in the new section and it was very nice. Bathhouse was very clean. The park is very large. Huge lake. Very friendly check in and very helpful. We recommend staying here if in the area. The restaurant at the marina has good food and if you want an alcoholic drink you have to become a member for $5. This is a dry area so bring your own booze.

We enjoyed our stay. I liked hiking the Trotter Trail and walking down to the lake picnic areas. We missed the perfect weather days for going swimming but did soak in the jacuzzi. The outdoor pool shower needed to be cleaned out as it was filled with leaves. overall though the park is clean and friendly. The lodge building has a great assortment of books and areas for having conversations with friends.

The new area is very nice. Front desk women were very unfriendly and crabby. Our site was very big and nice . The laundry area was clean and you can use quarters still. Was very inexpensive to wash and dry two loads of laundry. The older part of the campground could use some road repair.

This place was awesome, beautiful, and so many amenities. You can tell they take pride in their park and the cleanliness shows. If you are from texas you know buccees are famous for their restrooms...but they have nothing on this place....i would pay a day pass just to use their shower and restooms. The only thing I can think of to improve is to make sure on the website or when people call is to let people know you can't access fishing without car or golfcart

When we booked the stay at TT Texoma, we thought that we were booking a site with full hookups. I went back again to look, and the reservation process seemed deceptive about that. There were not many sites left to choose from when we got there, and several were really unlevel. Streets are in disrepair as noted in other reviews. We loved the pickleball, pool, and putt putt, and the bathrooms were nice...I would rather shower in my own camper though, so the full hookup would have been much preferred. Overall, it's a nice location with great amenities, but we felt like it was really overpriced for the campsites that we ended up with. There were also no fire rings available nor a picnic table on site--both of which we felt should have been standard to ALL sites. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

Very disappointed with the stay. Cabins were run down and they made you put a $100 deposit for clean up and then had a list of what they expected you to do before you left. Sweep, mop, and clean bathrooms and kitchen. Cabins were not very clean to start with and the lights on the porch could not turn on. Today is a week and still haven't gotten our deposit back and good luck calling in. RV sites very close together and grass hadn't been mowed.

I can only give this site a rating of 3, even though the staff are really nice and try their best. But the roads are sooooooo bad. You really need a Hummer or tank to be comfortable. And the park is really an old camp ground, it seems, and most of the sites are really uneven. You're in the wilderness...My point is, there are very few sites that are suitable for large motorhomes. We did end up in a good spot after some back and forth with staff (we have a 44 foot diesel pusher). And I can't complain at all about the site we ended up in. But, there are not many of those. And with a first come, first serve policy, you might be out of luck. The activity center was vey nice though. The main pool that we had planned on enjoying was closed, and the smaller pool was closed for a few days as well, but opened up while we were there. It seemed to be maintained okay. The environment was nice with long trails and access to the lake. So, if the outdoors is what you're looking for, this should please you.

If you are looking for a fishing cabin with the guys than this is probably fine, but your wife would not want to stay there. The cabin we received did not match the pictures online. The cabins are old, not insulated, glad it did not get above 86 degrees or I don't think the 2 window units would be able to keep up. They ran all weekend. The doors did not close properly, stove was not level, dead bugs in a pot. shower hot water knob had to be pushed in a turned to engage. No bathroom vent fan. They need to completely remodel them, insulate them. Lower the price and advertise an appropriate number of people who can sleep comfortably.

I don't understand how my kids and well kids in general are regarded as a nuisance. My 14 year old was told he cannot ride his bike on the concrete, sidewalks or even the grass. Where is he supposed to ride his bike at? This is a kid that is yes and no sir/ma'am, so I get confused on how us non annual people are supposed to feel welcome here if the staff do nothing but complain about us! Mean while on Saturday nights everyone that lives there has a big party and all of their golf carts are driven on the grass, sidewalks and concrete. My kids aren't allowed to go into the activity center unless they are 14? 14? So the well mannered 11 year old cant go sit down and read a book without mom or dad being in there? The pools close before the sun even sets.
I get that most of the staff eats dinner at 5pm and goes to bed at 8pm. Not making that up, that was the reasons one of the nights on why it gets shut down at 8pm, so the staff can go to bed at that time. Meanwhile we are on vacation and would like to enjoy it as much as possible.
My wife and I have decided that we are going to try another park or two, if they are the same way, we will no longer be staying at thousand trails because its more like a senior citizen home then a vacation RV park.

I'm not sure the cost for nonmembers of Thousand Trails, but nonmembers can Camp there if there are vacancies.
I think it would be better to use the boat at the marina. It is only a couple of miles from the campground.
