Longhorn Inn Motel

Longhorn Inn Motel

A most welcome stop for me after cycling my eBikeKit-assisted CruzBike 66miles/106kms all Eastbound on the super-safe should of I-20. Needing to recharge my eBatteries, this motel was PERFECT for me, especially in that I obtained a ground floor room with a ramp-sidewalk! I also liked the attached gift shop and the adjacent fuel station-eatery in front! Clean, comfortable, not expensive and available is definitely a winner!

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was cleaned, the best it could be. On the first night the shower curtain rod fell down, the mattress was in poor shape and the carpet is stained and smelled. The maid fixed the curtain rod so it would stay on the 2nd morning. The maid and the people were friendly. The motel needs some work by the owners.

Desparatey tired from driving all day, and found ths place behind a gas station/restaurant on the south side of the gas station. Was able to talk lady into a 50 dollar rate instead of the 60 she first offered. No taxes added, just a stock price. Bet if I had 40 cash, she'd have taken it.
I got a room in the back, (had to drive out to the street to get to the room), but I could back my truck up to easily unload the stuff from my trunk.
Room was clean, had two beds, tv, coffee maker, fridge and mini microwave, lotsa plug ins so i could get great internet on my modem card way out in the middle of nowhere.
Quaiint touches, like real tcolored towels - not the institutional white ones. also a full bar of the fancy green soap. everything worked. REAL nice bed coverings and bed pillow coverings, like in the fanciest rooms. Heater worked just fine and fast.
Allowed my two little doggies without a problem.
Very quiet, tv worked easily.
didn't try out anything from the gas station.
older blond lady clerk was helpful.
I would stay there again.
Clean, firm mattress,
It was night when I checked in, but the other pix by other reviewers makes me think this is the same place. I'd stay here again. Nice stop-off sleep spot between west texas and Dallas.
Right now i cannot adjust the overall experience ratings, which would all be above average or excellent.

They have no handicap rooms. Even the ground floor is up 2 steps. Awkward for elderly with walkers. No phone in room. No hairdryer in room and none available for use from office. Before I realized that, I showered and had wet hair that I had to do my best with before we went to a family reunion. Usually no one in office - they want you to ring a bell and wait. The sheets on our bed looked old. They were flowered and matched the comforter, but they looked like they had been around for a long time. One good thing is we all slept pretty good - the bed was more comfortable than I thought it would be.

I just had a great experience at the Longhorn Inn in Gordon TX. The night clerk was very friendly and personable. And for a single room at only $49.99 I thought it was going to be a one time stay, but the room was very clean, with big LED TV, and even granite counter tops in the bath. I'll definitely be staying again on my regular route on I-20. If anybody wants to know what exit, take exit 370, it's just behind the Exxon station.

Went in to use the restroom and buy some snack. In the restroom there's a sign on the mirror that says "if your going to use our restrooms please buy something to help support our store ". Really .... As I walked in I said hi, she would not acknowledge me whatsoever ,then my husband and boys came in ,she treated us all like we were spectacles ALL the items were dusty and the snacks my son got were OLD ,very old terrible tasting .i tried talking to her about the animal rescue and she was very smug to me . I advise if you want good snacks -go else where do not waste your time ! She should be grateful someone wakled in her dirty store and gave her money for her old snacks .she should sell the place and give someone else to clean it up !

For a mom and pop place this rocks. Furnishings a bit old but clean great ac and heat free coffee ice and manager on duty at all times. If driving west don't push on to Dallas, stop here and rest for the night then deal with the traffic and high prices somewhere else.

I stayed at the Longhorn Inn in Gordon, Texas for two nights and it only cost me $114.00! I didn't think any room was that inexpensive in 2012. The room was clean and comfortable although not the most modern place I have stayed. They have such a cute little store and it has locally made soap and candles. Of course I had to buy some of each.

Really a cute place. Very comfortable beds. Nice clean room. Was even comfortable enough to walk around in room with my shoes off. Bathroom clean. Noticed when we left that we had forgotten to lock the door when we went to bed and still felt comfortable. Defiantly stay here again.

I was in the early stages (day 10 of 3-months) of my “COVID19 East Coast (domestic) biketour”, and was extremely pleased to safely arrive at this fine overnight stop with ample Sunlight/mid-afternoon. It was gratifying to obtain a ground floor room (important as my eBikeKit-assisted CruzBike is incredibly HEAVY) made better by a ramp up to the walkway. (Unfortunately, the threshold for entering the room itself is a small step up.) Room 16 was excellent; one wall was largely vacant, with a handy outlet available for me to recharge both eBatteries, using my own heavy duty extension cord/triple-plug/rechargers as the connector. That was a wonderful aspect of this excellent motel, one that I now expect of EVERYPLACE as my “ageing out” means my weakened muscles need a bit more help from the eWheel.
I really enjoy non-name brand motels because the price is usually lower, service is as good as or better than the name-brand motels. The usual accoutrements were present: comfortable bed, mini-fridge, flat-screen TV, microwave, wrapped soap, shampoo/conditioner, plenty of hot/cold water, towels, and air-conditioning. This superb motel certainly has my coveted “¡Wheel of Approval!”
