Oakdale Park, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, has been providing recreational opportunities for families since 1925. For your enjoyment and convenience, we offer cabins, RV & tent sites, meeting rooms, a playground, picnic sites, recreational equipment, a stage, a large pool, bath houses, a coin laundry, a park store & propane. Beginning with a Chili & BBQ Cookoff, from February through December there’s almost always something happening. Since 1972, Oakdale has been home to a Spring (1st Sat. in April) & a Fall (1st Sat. in Oct.) Bluegrass Jamboree; since 1982, it's been home to the Lone Star State Dulcimer Festival (Mother’s Day weekend); and, since 1987, it's been home to a Woodcarving Show. The Paluxy River Bluegrass Assoc has been hosting 3rd Saturday jam sessions & free stage shows. Many families have been holding reunions here for decades. Whether it be a weekend retreat, family reunion, RV rally or special event, start a tradition and make Oakdale its home!

My daughter and 17 month old arrived early Mon the 15 th At 2:11 and tried to check in. They were not allowed to check in till three due to police of having housekeeping time to clean which is understandable when you’re completely booked but, we had arrived earlier Sunday and noticed there was no one in the cabins. Also there was no one in the cabins all Day Monday. I would assume the cabin would be clean and there shouldn’t be an issue with them checking in 40 minutes early. Just make sure you arrive after check in time not before. If you are staying in trailer site be aware that the trailer sites are very very close. They hardly have any space in between them and the roadways are narrow. The sites are kept clean but only have small grassy area. The pool is very nice and check in staff was courteous. Especially the lady who checked us in on Sunday but We definitely will not be coming back here. Really can not recommend it but FYI they do allow RV s to check in early. Two RVs across from we’re able to check in an hour before check in time.

My family and I stayed here for a couple of nights in one of the little cabins. We loved it! We usually stay at a hotel down the road but I'm so glad we found this place. We will be repeat guests. I love that there are towels and soaps in the cabins. Very convenient. Floors needed to be swept when we got there so I'm glad there is a broom and dustpan available.

The central attraction for this campground is the large pool , big enough it requires not 1 but 3 Lifeguards . The playground for kids is really large as well . There is a large grass area & stage for the BlueGrass festival ( which I think is twice a year ). The “ Deluxe” side of the campground has more shade & bigger lot sizes . We had a 30/50 pull thru however , even with shade full sun during the day . There is a Snowcone Shack directly across the street which does quite a bit of business. Also across from the campground is the “Big Rocks Park “ , which is exactly what the name describes, a bunch of big rocks . It is connected to the river so there are a lot of families having a good time in there . There are few choices nearby but read the reviews first ( it narrows the choices ) . Downtown is small however , the people are really nice . Food choices are limited but if you venture 15 minutes out , down a County ( country ) road you can try Loco Coyote. Interesting venue w/ great catfish. I heard the ribs & grilled shrimp are tasty as well but not impressed with the cheesy corn . There are a few dinosaur fossil attractions but we skipped those , & the river is near for water types. All-in-all nice campground, great pool, & quaint town .

We visit the Texas Dulcimer Festival, hosted at Oakdale RV Park & were astonished at the beauty of the property. Gracious oak trees shaded the property, there were plentiful RV spaces & cute little cabins for rent, as well as, larger o e with jacuzzis! Situated across the road from Big Rocks on the Paluxy River, Oakdale teases you into getting your water fun on...not only in the Paluxy, but in the Olympic size pool center piece of the park. We only spent the afternoon there, but we will be booking our own Glen Rose adventure at Oakdale!

We have been here a month due to work. Two days ago a family has rented a cabin behind us. All night long they have been outside the cabin partying with music and children riding motorized toys. We have been kept awake all night long and my husband got no sleep before getting up at 4 am to go to work. I still haven't been to bed. When I called the police nobody answered since its Christmas. I was bragging about how nice this rv park was until now. Next outage we will go somewhere where these all night outside parties wont happen. We have a lot of friends that travel for these outages and we will spread the word.

Response from Scenic05615767255, Manager at Oakdale Park
Responded Mar 26, 2019
Karen, We apologize for the disturbance. The park does attempt to adhere to local city ordinances, and a 10:00PM quiet time is in effect at Oakdale Park. If you do decide to return to Oakdale Park and experience issues after-hours, the Park does have an on-call number posted on the front door that can be called in situations like these. Thank you, Colton
