Our family used to stay at this motel every summer & used to enjoy sitting outside in the evening relaxing in or beside the pool not anymore the pool was almost empty & nasty green. No amenities at all now no continental breakfast, no coffee, no coffee maker in room. No phone, no alarm clock, just small microwave & mini fridge jalso small shampoo, lotion & 2 small soap for washing hands or to bathe. All there is a noise cold air conditioner, bed linen, towels & shower/tub at least it was clean. This place is going down hill needs a lot of painting & upgrades. The pool was the main reason we stayed here. Now we be renting house from someone else for these 3 day weekends

We were disappointed in the Inn. We use to stay here for horse shows about 4 years ago and it was a nice place to lay your head. Now the bed wasn't bad but the bathroom was dirty. The corners of the floor didn't look like they had been cleaned. There were a couple of dead small bugs in the corner. I think they were little roaches. The shower drained very slow. I stood in ankle deep water and it took about 30 minutes to drain. We will spend the extra 30.00 and stay another place the next time we visit Glen Rose.

To start, the furniture was mismatched, dinged up, and some was broken. There was a decorative lamp... not plugged in, because there was nowhere to plug it. There were only three available outlets in the entire room, and they were not in convenient places. The bed was so hard it made my back hurt, and I don't have back problems. There was a bright light right outside our window, and it shone so brightly through the top of the curtains, I could have almost read a book at night. The tiny towels were soft, but stained. On to breakfast... ha! There were three cold cereals, and a pot for making coffee... none actually made. Milk and juice jugs were available in a mini fridge. The topmost bowl had a dead bug in it. There were no spoons. A few minutes after we entered the tiny lobby, the guy arrived to add some rock-hard mini donuts to a shelf. 5 powdered sugar and 1 chocolate frosted. These are the kind that come in a little plastic tube... what happened to the others?? Pretty sure his kids ate them. Oh, and the pool... It was foggy... the water itself. I didn't think much of it, until I tried to dry out my kids' suits, since we were leaving the next day. I used a towel, to help sop up the moisture. The towel smelled like I'd poured bleach on it! There was a 5-gallon bucket of calcium hypochlorite next to the pool. Unsecured. They clearly don't know how to safely take care of a pool. I would never stay here again. I would spend the extra money for any of the other hotels. I would eat sandwiches and ramen, to make up the difference. It is not a good place.

The owners were friendly. The upstairs two bedrooms were clean, the downstairs living room dining room and kitchen needed a serious cleaning (including the sofas and chairs). Management had the stove top scrubbed clean for me. I scrubbed the countertops and drawers. House keeping was bare bones basics, no cleaning, only took out garbage and refreshed the towels, toilet paper, and changed the bed sheets twice during the 7 week stay. I was glad I was able to cook without a problem, only ate out three times during my stay.

I'll start by stating I've had my share of stays in under 2 stars accommodations, and I am vary fair about my expectations when booking budget hotels. How this one has a current rating of 2.5 is beyond me. Summary: If you just need a one night stop this will do the trick. If shelling out 30-40 extra bucks will not throw your budget off you will be glad to have paid them to stay at a better place. Pros: Good location, walking distance diner, very quiet considering it faces a main street, very strong wifi, good size TVs, microwave and mini fridge in rooms. Cons: A. Terrible, terrible service, examples: 1) I asked a day ahead to check if they had washer/dryers available to guests, as I urgently needed to wash a load (guess when you call a hotel and the answer is "Hello?" it is never a good sign), they said yes. When I show up and ask for them they state that I can't wash them myself, they would take care of it and that it has a cost of $15. Maybe partly my fault as I didn't ask the cost and if the machines are coin operated or whatnot, but they should have said it when I asked. Major blunder for my trip. 2) It includes breakfast but on a Saturday morning don't expect anything to be out before 8. They do have coffee machines in their rooms. I asked for a bag of tea on a Friday evening. I know, I know it is not part of the standard offer. The lady at the front desk just kept repeating "for breakfast only". I mean, really, it was a bag of tea, and I would have paid for it. Really, it was just a bag of tea. Little gestures can go so far. 3) I am not a native English speaker myself, but they really have to improve their communications skills there. B. Bugs, bugs everywhere, dead and alive. This one I am not sure I can pin on them because the area is very rural, they cant possibly control all bugs there, but I did find a dead fly in the uncovered styro cups they provide in the room. C. Pool/Facilities: In a very 70's layout the greenish pool is in the middle of the parking lot and does not offer an inch of shade. Rooms are moderately clean. If you are fuzzy about long hairs in the tub, strong smells and that kind of stuff, it will be off putting to you.

The only reason I stayed here was because every place else was booked. I did get a good price. The sheets were clean, good hot shower, which is all I really needed. But every time I turned on the lights, I'd see HUGE roaches. Once even on my bed. I slept with the AC on cold so I could cover my head. If you stay here, bring your roach spray. The owners will not do anything for you. The "breakfast" was a few hostess donuts and some frozen pastries. Best best: stay ANYWHERE else!

This was the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed in! Avoid at all costs! The room smelled awful. There were holes in the wall every where. The shower curtain was covered in mold. Our tv cable box had been stolen and it took an entire day for someone to bring us another one so we could use the tv. When we checked in, they had lost our reservation, which should have been our first sign to stay at the LaQuinta down the street! Never again will I stay at this nightmare hotel.

Recently booked a room through Priceline and was guaranteed. Upon arrival they did not have a room and only stated they didn't have a number to call me. My number was on my itinerary so figured it was a lie. my wife and I had tickets to "The Promise" and were unable to attend due to there were no rooms anywhere. The closest was over 30 miles away. Priceline did refund the room plus 20% but that did little to recoup our ticket costs or our trouble. If this is the only vacancy you can find in Glen Rose, move along to the next town. You won't have a pleasant experience.

We've now stayed on both sides of the street (motel is in two separate areas, with a street in between) and the side with the office and pool might be kept cleaner than the other side. We made reservations 3-4 weeks in advance but couldn't request a room by the pool, we were told. That's fine, but we also were given a room with one bed instead of two. Again, not a deal breaker but might be for families with more than just two traveling. The room we had this last trip was located behind the Big Cup Eatery. Thankfully it was pretty quiet there. The AC worked very well and had no offensive odor. The room seemed that it hadn't been in use for some time. Dead bugs in corners of the room. A few small spiders we had to kill, too. But it was the splotches of dark colored sticky stuff that really turned us off to the place. On the wall high above the toilet, on the wall above the shower, on the back of the door were what we hoped were not blood stains. The toilet was old, but it didn't need to come with a urine smell, as if the commode had been sitting with contents inside from the last user. Our curtains over the front (only) window wouldn't close. One part hung down and gaped, so we used hair clips to secure it. Wifi was also very spotty. Couldn't get it to connect after losing the connection until several frustrating minutes later. We were also surprised to see no mattress pad whatsoever, only the sheet on top of the mattress. We love independent motels and would rather support them than the chains. If you can get a room close to the pool, you might be fine. Our last stay across from the pool was great. But there is no guarantee where you'll be placed and that's just a crapshoot we don't want to take again.
