Our family used to stay at this motel every summer & used to enjoy sitting outside in the evening relaxing in or beside the pool not anymore the pool was almost empty & nasty green. No amenities at all now no continental breakfast, no coffee, no coffee maker in room. No phone, no alarm clock, just small microwave & mini fridge jalso small shampoo, lotion & 2 small soap for washing hands or to bathe. All there is a noise cold air conditioner, bed linen, towels & shower/tub at least it was clean. This place is going down hill needs a lot of painting & upgrades. The pool was the main reason we stayed here. Now we be renting house from someone else for these 3 day weekends

We were disappointed in the Inn. We use to stay here for horse shows about 4 years ago and it was a nice place to lay your head. Now the bed wasn't bad but the bathroom was dirty. The corners of the floor didn't look like they had been cleaned. There were a couple of dead small bugs in the corner. I think they were little roaches. The shower drained very slow. I stood in ankle deep water and it took about 30 minutes to drain. We will spend the extra 30.00 and stay another place the next time we visit Glen Rose.

I picked this based on the price and reviews (hadn’t seen the most recent one then) on Trip Advisor and on Expedia. To put what follows into context - I am not a very fussy person and for a short stay I find an average Motel 6 acceptable.
This is quite a big motel. It is located on two corners of a crossroads and I think there are 5 or 6 buildings with rooms in. There seemed to be enough car parking. There is a restaurant next to one car park which did a decent breakfast.
I knew this was going to be an older style motel and that the furnishings and fittings would be dated. Even so, I was disappointed with my room. On the plus side the room was spacious, there was a fridge and a microwave, the heating/cooling unit was effective and I really liked the shower which delivered loads of hot water. The pool area looked nice.
The sheets were clean and I found the bed ok – I slept pretty well.
The 2 people I met in the office were both helpful; I observed one of them really go out of her way to help a guest who was having vehicle problems.
There were several entries in the minus column. There were some wires sticking out of the wall which I think were probably meant to be attached to a smoke detector. One of the electrical outlets was missing the cover plate. The basin had lost several patches of enamel which had been painted over but the paint was coming off. The paint was peeling off the back of the bathroom door. There was a brownish stain of unknown origin on the lampshade by the bed – maybe it was chocolate ice cream. There were 2 remote controls presumably for the tv – one looked new but the other one looked old and very dirty (given that even your average remote is supposed to have more germs than a toilet bowl I decided to keep way). I had a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast one morning but it wasn’t very nice eating in the Reception area.
My reservation was for 2 nights. I was on a pre-paid rate through Expedia and it was too late to cancel the second night and get my money back by the time I arrived. So I decided it wasn’t so bad I couldn’t stick it out and concentrate on enjoying the shower and sleeping. All in all though it was a disappointment and I would not stay here again.

I paid just under $200 for this room in February of this year. I show up in October and the hotel has no record of my prepaid reservation and they proceed to charge me almost $400 and tell me to call hotels.com. The entire time I was nothing but nice and calm and patient. I'm having a conversation with hotels.com on my end because it's not fair I'm paying $600 for a room I already prepaid $200 for months ago. The hotels.com rep told me that the manager will not do any adjustment to the price on his end because of bad reviews already left. Brother.. I did not leave a single review disparaging your property. That changes right now. You are a horrible businessman and a liar. I come to Glen Rose every year for a Spartan race and this is not the first time I've stayed in this property.. but it is the last time I'll stay and I have a lot of friends who travel to this competition and I'm going to make sure they all know that you're screwing over a Spartan. It didn't have to be like this but you chose to lie about me. I was nothing but nice calm and civil to you as Erin, your employee, could verify. Hotels.com did the right thing and refunded me what they already charged me and they have nothing but my respect.

So again.. I left no negative reviews on your property and believe me there are a lot of negative aspects about your property but this experience is squarely upon your shoulders. You could have done the right thing and adjusted my rate and I would gladly have sung your praises.

Reserved a room for Christmas Eve and the room was reedy win we arrived . We were greeted by friendly staff and the transaction was fast and easy .We stayed in room 107 , the furniture was a bit dated but clean and in good condition. the room was very clean and smelled good. The free Wi-Fi and the small frig and microwave made the stay easy as we cold jump online and watch our NetFlix and have cold sodas and some snacks. The pillows were crisp and the bed was firm and comfortable. In the morning we invited to the continental breakfast and again found the staff friendly and helpful.Overall a great place to stay on a budget . Will recommend to anyone.

Wondering why this place isn't ranked higher on tripadvisor. We have stayed elsewhere in Glen Rose and paid over $120 per room. We stayed this time at the Glen Rose Inn and Suites over a busy weekend. Other hotels were full, but we were able to make reservations here quickly and easily over the phone. We love to support independent motels when we can. This visit did not disappoint.

Pros: Half the price of other rooms in town. Clean, well-kept pool. Comfy beds with sheets and blankets that did their job well. Lots of bathroom counter space. Mini fridge. Microwave. Soap and shampoo dispensers in shower tub and also small bottles of both. Flat screen tv. Newer carpet. Quiet, efficient AC/heater. Decent breakfast. Kind office folks. Parking in front of rooms. Peepholes in doors. Plenty of towels. Plenty of hot water. Kleenex in room. In-room phones. Black out curtains (they're short but do the job well).

Cons: No hair dryer in room. An extra roll of toilet paper would have prevented the mental panic over anticipated rationing of tp squares. Steep driveway from main road entrance.

If you can tolerate the above cons, you might be pleasantly surprised by this place. After reading some of the reviews here, I was very apprehensive. Now the family can't wait to return and save some money by staying here from now on. Room 106 with two queen beds was a great room for us. Close enough to office and with pool in sight. We will be back soon!

This motel did not honor the reservations we made, the bedspreads had cigarette burns in them, the shower handle wouldnt come all the way up, therefore water was running out of faucet to, no clocks in rooms, all blankets needed updated, chairs in rooms very unstable-- just not a good place to stay

I made a reservation by phone and when I got there they did not have my reservation or a room available! I asked them what I am supposed to do with a 4 yr old and they did not have an awnser for me. I had read previously that someone else had the same issue with them.
I went to La Quinta and they were booked but she called and found me a room. She said she had heard of this happening with other people at the Glen rose Inn.
I probably will not get my money back but I am going to try!

I had been riding in the heat all day and arrived in Glen Rose and promptly spotted this motel up on a hill, next to the highway. I was not disappointed. The rates were good and the room was clean. The clerk was very cordial and directed me to a nearby café, which turned out to be a good choice, and was within walking distance.
