Very accommodating, friendly, helpful owner and crew; super clean rooms, comfy beds, awesome a/c and fans kept the room nice and cool, and I slept soundly during the thunderstorms; delicious breakfasts with farm fresh fruits and eggs, bacon, sausage, pastry; Parmesan crusted eggs so delicious; unlimited coffee; I was able to get work done on my laptop in the comfortable breakfast room and lounge. Lovely views and sitting areas by the river, even in the rains, and high river, I still could walk out there on paved stone path and take cover under beautiful big canopy of trees. The crew here rebuilt an older conference lounge in the back lot during the stay at home pandemic orders, and now the whole town plus guests can enjoy a wonderful tavern too. Right on town square near a sweet rhythms book store and delightful, scrumptious Sugar Bistros and boutique stores. Even in between the rains, I enjoyed Paluxy Heritage Park and Big Rocks Park within a minute drive, and got to come back to my own personal view and relaxation with friendly folks and two gentle dogs to greet me. Can’t wait to hit this sweet Inn on the River when I come through again.

Need a calming place to get away from the same cooped up COVID view? We did too. What a perfect weekend getaway for our family of 3. We set out on a spontaneous trip for a change of scenery. With only Dino Valley & Fossil Rim in mind, little did we know our stay at the Inn would be some of our most memorable time during our weekend. Our 10 year old did not get a pool & unlimited cable; but oh so much more! He got down time with some lovely people who allowed him freedom to play piano in the lobby & enjoy perusing the game closet (even taking in a friendly game of poker with Pam, the Innkeeper) Ryman, the furry doorman greeted us each time we came through the doors in the most relaxed way, a delightful presence and never a nuisance. We delighted in drinks in the tavern, meandered through the large beautiful oaks & sat by the river in the Adirondack chairs, sipping Southern cocktails.

The suite we stayed in offered comfortable beds, soothing A/C, private bath, & in lieu of TV, we stumbled upon the journals of prior guests, which we enjoyed reading to one another before bed. Search for the stories of couples who returned year after year to celebrate their anniversary. It only added to the loving atmosphere of this place.

This isn’t a 5 star hotel, don’t expect that. It’s like coming home...it’s nurturing, warm, quiet. Walk in with expectations of turning off the constant hum of work & city life. We were happy to be able to socially distance and yet, get connected with other guests. A stay that offers connection if you like it and peace if you need to be alone. Pam, is working hard to restore & revive the Inn. Don’t hesitate, go & enjoy conversation, connection & her yummy concoctions. That spontaneous Lemon Fluff was a huge hit! We will return for sure.

My husband and I visited the restaurant at Inn on the River ("Snyder's Tavern"). For our anniversary. The meal was amazing! We both greatly enjoyed our entrees. The vegetables were locally sourced and the peach caprese salad starter was amazing! The owner Pam was engaging and we also enjoyed our walk around the beautiful grounds after dinner. Out of town guests can stay overnight and enjoy breakfast as well. We highly recommend this place!

Food available in evening was over microwaved and cold when served. Evening dining room/bar had no selection of wines, nor any selection of the local area wines. Bartender very unfriendly and no knowledge of local area wines, or even what he had. Most bottles had been opened for several days.

Breakfast OK but not up to B&B quality that is available just a few miles away.

Rooms had blinding lights from porch area and breakfast room that stayed lit all night and made it difficult to sleep. Only thin venetian blinds on the windows.

View sitting at the river great and grounds to the river great. Owner very nice.
For the price and quality of service, we won't be back.

A year ago we had a reservation at the Inn. We arrived in the early afternoon and enjoyed the lovely grounds and river just a stones throw from the downtown square in Glen Rose. We'd spent a great day at the state park and were looking forward to dinner and spending time with our feet in the river. Pam had greeted us and given us the low down on the Inn and some ideas for a pandemic take out dinner. This was June 2020. Well as I was getting comfy in the river, I got a call an urgent reason to get home. No time for dinner or the river. I told Pam what was up and she said to me, "you know you are going to be liable for the room charge." Yes, I said, no problem this was unavoidable. Some days later, after some back and forth Pam said that if we came back another time they might be able to give us our room at a reduced rate of maybe even totally on the house. And that is what happened. This May we spent Thursday night at the Inn and enjoyed the grounds once gain and dinner in the new Tavern, very enjoyable and we had a great time. So kudo's to Pam and the rest of the staff for allowing us a free room after having to leave suddenly a year earlier. I will be back. What a great place to spend some time if you need a place to unwind.

We had such a wonderful time relaxing along the river watching the ducks. Pam and her staff were attentive to our needs and really showed their passion for the historic location. Highly recommend this spot for couples or even families with kids.

We had a lovely stay at the Inn On The River. The room was quaint and comfortable and the owner was very hospitable and accommodating. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the Inn and the area, which made our stay even more interesting. Breakfast was tailored to our preferences and was both healthy and delicious. The location was walking distance to some shopping areas and historical sites and a short driving distance to Dinosaur Valley State Park and other local parks and attractions. I highly recommend staying here!

We discovered Glen Rose and the Inn while searching for places to stay near Dinosaur Valley State Park, which is just 5 miles away. The Inn is exactly as advertised. Nothing fancy but clean quiet and its location on the river couldn't be better. Our room was lovely and the bed comfortable. We enjoyed being greeted by the Inn's dogs, who we found well behaved and gentle. Evenings sitting at the rivers edge were fantastic. We took an easy day trip into Fort Worth on our second day and were happy to come back to the peacefulness of Glen Rose. All in all, I'd say a great stay.

We live in Arlington and drove out for an overnight stay. The trip took about an hour. I'd been to Inn On The River years ago and wanted to visit again. The Inn looked even better than it did on my first visit. Our cozy comfortable room faced the river and back porch, we spent some time sitting in the big chairs by the river bank then had a nightcap at Snyder's Tavern. Pam's breakfast was delightful and very good, the staff was helpful, and we enjoyed petting the two dogs that are on the property.

Inn on the River and Glen Rose, TX are real hidden jewels that I came across during this crazy pandemic. I needed somewhere to go that I felt comfortable going for a mini vacation and for some RnR and reflection. The large room with the private entrance was very comfortable and Glen Rose has a lot of beautiful terrain and state parks to admire. Pam is a fantastic host and owner who really knows what she's doing. Breakfast was the best! I would recommend this BnB very highly.
