Convenient location to all the attractions and the beds are incredibly comfortable. My husband made reservations with a VRBO months ago for our anniversary trip. Unfortunately, the heater did not work so we had to cancel and find somewhere else to stay. It was Mardi Gras weekend so we were worried about finding affordable reservations at last minute. We prayed about it then had dinner to figure out what we were going to do. When the gentleman brought our food he asked if he could get us anything else. I asked if he knew of a place we could stay for the night. He said his wife works the front desk at the Holiday Inn Resort. He called her and she said she would be waiting for us. Michaela not only made us reservations for our entire stay but hooked us up with an amazing view that we were not expecting. She also sent us a surprise to our room of chocolate covered strawberries knowing it was our anniversary. We ate them on our balcony while enjoying the beautiful view and thanked God for our blessings.

The staff were very accommodating in getting us a last minute room and all of them were so friendly we felt like they knew us. They truly went above and beyond in making us feel welcome! The room and bathroom were large, the beds were very comfortable, the balcony was clean and had a great view and the television was huge. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff made sure it was well stocked and clean. It was cold and foggy when we arrived but the outdoor pool looked very inviting- sorry we didn’t get a chance to use it. The hotel is located right across from the beach, walking distance from several restaurants and minutes from the cruise port I plan on staying here whenever I’m in Galveston. Incredible new hotel with everything you want!

I had a last minute itch to go to Galveston for quick walk on the beach and went online to find a hotel on the seawall with a balcony facing the water. AND one that had availability for my short notice travel whims. My wife and I had walked past the Holiday Inn on previous trips to Galveston, but had never stayed there. What a pleasant stay! I arrived earlier than the 4PM checkin time, but the staff gave me a parking pass for my car and offered to call me when the room was available. After a nice long walk on the seawall my room was ready, earlier than 4PM. It was a high floor room with a balcony overlooking the beach, just like I'd requested. The room was tidy and clean, was not humid (humidity is a problem in Galveston) and was reasonably appointed. TV was a bit small at 32 inches, but the view is outside the balcony, so I never turned the TV on. There was a small fridge, handy for sodas, a small microwave and a coffee maker... the usual expectations well met. Internet was free and fast: 25MPS which is really fast for hotel internet. Bathroom was fine with a tub/shower combo and water pressure was completely adequate. Plenty of outlets for electronic gadgets that need charging. Mattress was a bit firm for my taste, but there were both soft and firm pillows available on the bed. There's no free breakfast, but there is a restaurant on site. I never had a chance to try out the restaurant, but the menu looked promising. Only one real head-scratcher. The elevators were very inconveniently placed, were situated outside near the backside of the rooms, and the floors around and inside the elevators were always wet... Galveston, right? It was a small oddity and not a major inconvenience. The hotel is VERY close to everything you want to see and do on the seawall. Access to a traffic light to cross the very busy seawall traffic is just a few steps away and I never felt the need to get into my car to go anywhere. I came for the seawall and found it right outside my hotel's door. Next time I go to Galveston this hotel will be on my short list.

My husband and I drove down to catch a cruise. This hotel was listed to leave your car and get shuttled to the cruise dock. Found it and booked it on the app. All the rooms face the ocean. Tip was to pick a room highest for the best view and I did. The beach is right across the street. The room had a balcony with a door to step out and take it all in. Unfortunately I got sick on the drive in Friday. My husband ran in to check us in. There was a huge coach bus bringing people in. My husband said he believed it was the manger escorted him seeing he wasn’t with the group and got him checked in right away. Parking is free and right there. Got to the room and laid down. It was perfect. My husband ran down to eat and he said the staff was very friendly. In the morning I felt a little better even though I got sick on the bed. The view out the window was gorgeous! On the way out I told the cleaning staff about the bed and they said no problem. We drove to visit our friend in the hospital and I decided to get checked out there. It was a appendicitis. I stayed and had surgery. My husband went to the hotel late and they still made him food even though it looked closed. I was cleared to still do the cruise. Yay! My husband told the staff of the situation and if we could check out late to get me from the hospital, pack and catch the ship. Again they were gracious. Next morning He got me back to the hotel and packed. The shuttle took just us over to the the cruise port. The front desk was so concerned with if I was ok. I didn’t even see them cause I waited outside. Our ship left a little late because of mechanical problems. As we were getting settled in, the man from the front desk called my husbands cell phone. He noticed the ship hadn’t left port and was wondering if i was ok. Wow! Talk about great hospitality!! What a great hotel and great staff!! Highly recommended!

Nice hotel. Comfortable and clean rooms. Great water pressure in the shower. The restaurant on site is good but pricey. I love the balconies here and the view of a rising full moon over the water from them is magnificent. The staff members have always been very courteous and helpful. I upgrade to a high floor when I can to get not only the view but also a quieter experience.
