Small but well located on Stewart Beach. It’s clean and quiet. Didn’t use the pool but looked reasonable size and clean. Takes circa 45 mins to walk to the historic district. Easy to manoeuvre around the site (even for those new to rving like us)
Well located RV park on Seawall. Biggest complaint, it is not just off the beach. It is several hundred yards to the water. Overpriced for the accommodations. There was a sprinkler system for the lawn, but the grass was brown and some grass burrs. Biggest gripe was the showers. You turn on the cold water and very hot water comes out. A real disappointment. Every 15 seconds you have to push a button to keep the water on! My wife killed a big roach in her shower and three days later it remained there. We were given gate codes to enter at night. One night 4 cop cars with lights blinking were inside. When inquired about gate being closed at nite we were told they don`t close the gate.
A nice smaller RV park with Full Hookups. Not all the sites are created equally, but most are pretty good. My site had room for my 28 footer, my truck, and another car, if I'd had one. I liked the sites furthest from the office, closer to the beach. There is nothing between the park and the beach, and its an easy walk there. I noticed some sites outside the fenced area, right off the main road way..? I would certainly avoid those! We particularly enjoyed the proximity of the park with all the attractions around Galveston. The Strand is nearby, of course the Beach and Pleasure Peer... many restaurants and bars. The staff was friendly and there is a nice pool to swim and lounge at. Based on the other RV parks I viewed in the area, I will be coming back to Sandpiper.
Quite community for being on the beach. Access to Stewart beach. Very clean, nice pool, nice staff. Paved parking for RV. Access to washer/dryer facility. Wi-Fi great. Access to several close restaurants.
We have stayed here twice and both times loved it. It is right on the beach and we can see the surf breaking from our window as I write this! The spots are level concrete pads, there are countless palm trees, the pool and hot tub area are nice and hanging out over the edge of the infinity pool is awesome. The location is perfect for us as we use Uber to get around and most times the Uber fees are $5-6. The only negative is the wireless is iffy and comes and goes. We ended up using our hot spot on our phones at times. We will definitely be coming back.
