Another good stay at the Sandpiper. Two years in a row, and we talked about next year. Only negatives is the trash accumulation is right in the open and is not slightly. The pool is great and the location to the beach is great. The gulf breeze is felt all day long.
Terrible site on Seawall Blvd not even inside the RV park. Not safe and noisy (street racing). Outside the RV park so no community. 90 a night and no refunds; we left a day early anyway! If they won’t guarantee a site inside the park DONT GO THERE!
Nicely maintained RV park. Helpful friendly staff. Nice looking infinity pool but was too cool to use. Had a hot tub also. Could easily walk for miles on the beach or along the sea wall, accessing restaurants. Great for bike riding too. Only negative was cloths dryers were very poor, causing delays. We would recommend and come again.
Love this place! Right at the beach but no sand to deal with! Sites are all pavement and the infinity pool overlooking the gulf is great for our entire family. We have been coming here for the past few years as a close to home getaway. We highly recommend it for all ages. The staff is always accommodating.
If you want beach views & access to the beach, this is your RV park but you'll sacrifice security & well maintained amenities. We stayed for one week & utilized the pool/bathrooms, both needing updating as well as repairs {exposed electrical connection boxes, cracked pool tiles}. The three gates leading into & out of the park either do not close completely or they are broke & do not close at all, allowing access to the general public {the park is adjacent to public beach parking & a dead-end street where people park illegally overnight on the beach}. We witnessed several "Looky Lou's" driving through the park from the beach, as well as non-guest accessing the park to use the bathroom/pool facilities {Regulars tell us this has been a problem for years & the gate remains broke & non-guest continue to use the facilities for free}. Armbands must be worn in the pool, however this is not enforced. This could easily be fixed by having a coded entry gate into the pool area for paying guests. The walking gate from the main road into the park should have a coded entry lock as well. A sign states it's locked in the evening, however we saw people walking through the gate late into the evening on multiple occasions. We met several guests who have been coming to the park for years & the agreed that the park has taken a drastical decline in the past two years & question if they will return. All the guests we met were friendly. The only positive is the large, paved sites with grass, however bugs are a constant issue so be prepared. The ladies at the desk were nice, however the male attendant was very rude & very abrasive. The road leading into the park has several very large potholes. Overall, the park is convenient to the downtown historic areas, the beach and many restaurants within walking distance, but the lack of real security & unwillingness for management to rectify ongoing issues makes this a "one & done" for us.…
This place is GREAT! The staff is very friendly and accommodating! The RV park is exceptionally clean and well kept. Their prices are great! They have a really nice pool that is kept sparkling clean and a nice fire pit area for making s’mores if you wish! We have stayed several times and will continue to stay!
I called them twice and both times the guy just hangs up without letting me ask other questions...they just hung up without asking me anything else. What total lack of customer awareness. so I'm going elsewhere...Stella M?
Wow! The owner is RUDE beyond imagination, condescending with strong tone of racism. Being a world traveler, this is by far the worst experience I ever had. Come here, if you don't know where supremacist exists.
You have to book at least a month in advance. The place is extremely noisy from the traffic on Seawall. But worse is the helicopter landing pad just a few hundred feet away. They take up tourists every 10 minutes or so all day long. It gets LOUD. Also no one seems to enforce all the written rules around the pool. There was some woman in the pool area with a yapping little mut. The signs says no dogs allowed in the pool area.I heard her tell her kids the manager said it was ok.Then the loud radios. There is a sign for that. Other than the noise and non stop yapping dog. It is decent.
We booked this RV park well in advance. We arrived early and noticed there were a number of back in sites vacant. The site we were assigned backed up to a concrete wall adjacent to a very busy road. It was nothing more than a concrete parking lot. I requested another site and the office attendant informed me all sites were taken which was not true. Many were still open. Management clearly states sites cannot be requested and will be assigned upon arrival. So if sites were empty when we arrived, why couldn’t she assign us one of the better vacant sites and the later arrivals this subpar site?? It was impossible to sleep with road noise and bright street lighting. She did tell me if I didn’t like the site she would refund my money and we could leave. What?? And go where at short notice? If you want to pay $135 for 2 nites in a concrete parking lot this is for you. If not there are many other excellent rv parks in west Galveston.…
