Hi. We have stayed here a couple of times while visiting Galveston. While it’s not our hotel of choice, it is a good hotel for the value. Moody Gardens hotel and resort is our favorite place to stay however sometimes it’s not in the budget and is at least twice the price of the Inn at the Waterpark. The rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Hotel staff are always nice. We stay in the west tower which is the newer of the rooms. If you want to be near Moody Gardens this is an affordable alternative. Oh and it has free Putt Putt golf!

Very good 2 star hotel for the price. Nice pool, mini golf, decent basic breakfast, good rooms, convinient parking, fast check in and out, right by Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn, 2 minutes driving to the beach. Galveston is excellent for kids and adults.

We came to this hotel for a night stay before a cruise. I chose it for the low price and we have stayed here in the past. I was very disappointed in our stay. The lobby was a long wait to be waited on due to two guests with issues. Not all rooms have elevators so we asked for one with elevators which we got, but the parking garage smelled so bad of old trash. Then we get to the room and it smelled like mildew as soon as we walked in. The rooms are in need of a desperate make over . Breakfast was average . We will not be staying here again. I felt sick in the morning from sleeping in that musty room. My family asked me to never book it again.

Nice older hotel. We stayed in the older section up front and were very pleased with the hotel. The desk clerk allowed us to check in early, so we put out bags up and headed for the ferry. My wife loves to go back and forth on the ferry so she can watch the dauphins play. The room was very large and even had a small breakfast nook. Breakfast was alright. Nothing fancy but fresh and ready. (Coffee was a bit rough but drinkable)

Stayed here about 3 years ago without any complaints. This time, the girl at the front desk wasn't very happy for some reason. She gave us our keys and told us our room was "in the back" (last time we were told top floor / turn corner/ turn corner.. etc) so we searched for our room. My husband literally got out of the car, walked up the stairs and walked around until he found it. He said the whole floor was shaking when he walked on it and didn't feel very safe. We finally found our room and unpacked. (We planned to stay for 4 nights) When we came back from dinner there was a man standing in the middle of the parking lot. When we drove around him he just stared at us. Didn't know if he was a guest or what. We noticed a few roaches in the stairwell. Ok.. I'm sure the room will be fine.. sat down on the bed for the 1st time and a spider was crawling up towards me. Ok.. delt with it and tried to relax. We had a king size bed and the pillows were not much bigger than my hand and very lumpy. Laid down to sleep and saw a roach crawling on the wall.. ok.. wasn't sure if I was going to be able to stay here. There was a hole in the floor in front of our bed. Covered by the carpet. But my foot still sank. We were exhausted from our 4 hour drive so we stayed the whole night. Yes we stayed. Not slept. Couldn't sleep on the "throw pillows" and I was on the look out for "pests" all night. 1st thing the next morning we called the front desk to tell them we were not staying another night. We didn't even give them a hard time about the night we did stay. Just didn't want to be charged for the nights we were not going to be staying. I was going to take a shower before we left but I turned the water on and it was brown!! Nope! We left without showering. We found a much nicer hotel across the street from the beach for almost the same price!! And come to find out a week later we were charged for all 4 nights. Again, we had no complaints a few years back. But we won't be returning a 3rd time.

In March of 2021, my organization signed a contract for 25 rooms so we could take a group of kids to galv. When we got there, they didn’t have our rooms. Like, they actually said “we don’t know if we’ll have the rooms available at all”. A signed contract. And, they didn’t seem to care the impossible situation they put us in. I wish I could give negative stars.

We spent a wonderful week in this hotel, our room was in the newest addition, our room was large and comfortable, full of light, hotel was clean and follow covid 19 protocols, so we need to request extra towels, trash bags and take out trash because not housekeeping personal is permitted in the room while guest are there. Breakfast was grab an go ( cereal, pastries, kolaches, fruit, milk and yogurt, etc) coffee supplies for coffee maker needs to be requested in the reception. Pool and restaurant were close in order to comply with covid19 protocols. Mask use is required .It was very different summer vacation. Ask about the covid19 protocols at your arrival, We where confused after one day of having housekeeping service and two days in a row of not housekeeping.

We stayed at this hotel because they offered a park & ride for our Journey Cruise. For their cheapest room, the shuttle service & after tax we paid almost $183.00. If we would of parked at the Galveston Port of parking it would of been about $150.00 for the two weeks of parking. Now this hotel uses Moody Gardens for their shuttle service because somehow these two companies are linked together. Here is the down fall to this deal. Since Moody Gardens Hotel is the shuttle service their guest come first & are high priority. So the shuttle picked us up first then went to Moody Gardens to pick up their people. After sitting their for 20 minutes the driver came back & said they didn't have anybody to pick up at that time so we went to the port. He told us the pick up times where 9:00 am, 10:30 am & 12:30 pm when we return & where to find them. So when we returned we found the driver & got loaded to be returned. Now since Moody Gardens in priority they got dropped off first. The driver called in all their valet numbers so their vehicles were waiting for them up front when we arrived. Then he went into the hotel to get their keys & then unloaded their luggage. This whole process took us a half hour of messing around & we didn't get dropped off until almost 10:00 am. If I was to ever do this again I'd just stay at Moody Gardens or park at the port which is much faster.

Marcus, desk clerk, was great. Rooms are fine & large. Breakfast selections are very limited. Good cruise shuttle to pier. If you book thru hotel, it's included. If not, it's $16 or $17 each person round trip. I'd stay there again before a cruise.

After 100 miles on my bike, I want somewhere close to the finish line, good value, hot shower and a clean bed, and the Inn at The Waterpark has all of that. Stayed there perhaps four times, and it does exactly what I need. Friendly staff, too.
