Detailed Reviews
We stayed at this hotel because they offered a park & ride for our Journey Cruise. For their cheapest room, the shuttle service & after tax we paid almost $183.00. If we would of parked at the Galveston Port of parking it would of been about $150.00 for the two weeks of parking. Now this hotel uses Moody Gardens for their shuttle service because somehow these two companies are linked together. Here is the down fall to this deal. Since Moody Gardens Hotel is the shuttle service their guest come first & are high priority. So the shuttle picked us up first then went to Moody Gardens to pick up their people. After sitting their for 20 minutes the driver came back & said they didn't have anybody to pick up at that time so we went to the port. He told us the pick up times where 9:00 am, 10:30 am & 12:30 pm when we return & where to find them. So when we returned we found the driver & got loaded to be returned. Now since Moody Gardens in priority they got dropped off first. The driver called in all their valet numbers so their vehicles were waiting for them up front when we arrived. Then he went into the hotel to get their keys & then unloaded their luggage. This whole process took us a half hour of messing around & we didn't get dropped off until almost 10:00 am. If I was to ever do this again I'd just stay at Moody Gardens or park at the port which is much faster.

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to comment on your visit. We appreciate your feedback, and apologize for the shuttle issue. I will be sending your comments to Moody Gardens in hope that they will revisit there transportation policies. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back to Galveston Island.

My wife, a friend and I stayed at this Inn Aug 17th and 24th as the starting point and ending of a Carnival Cruise. The Inn is 6 miles from the Port of Galveston where the ship departs. In order to get to the Terminal our Van had to drive through all of Galveston which took almost 30 minutes due to the heavy traffic around the Port.
The Inn let us park our vehicle for the week for a nominal charge but does the provide a drive to the port.
The Inn itself is an older hotel but in relatively good condition. It has an outdoor pool and a small putt putt golf course. Part of the Inn was closed due to repairs.
The Inn has a main building with a lobby where a breakfast buffet is served.
We stayed in the addition which is a 4 story building on stilts. The cars are parked underneath. The building shows evidence of its age. There is a little scent of staleness that comes with an older hotel. However, the Inn is well kept and our room was clean and had all the amenities needed. The rooms are large so even with two queen beds we had lots of room. There was a fridge, microwave, a coffee maker and a table with 2 chairs.
The bathroom shows its age with old handles and shower head but everything worked properly and we had lots of hot water.
My wife used the pool and said it was nice. This is a larger pool than you normally see in newer hotels. She also played the putt putt course and liked it as well.
The breakfast buffet was adequate but the coffee was awful. The second night that we stayed we opted to eat out for breakfast.
Overall this is an older hotel in good condition with a friendly staff. It was much cheaper to leave our car at the Inn than to pay the fortune they want to park it at the Port. The room rate was also more reasonable than for the hotels on Seawall Blvd overlooking the ocean. If you are planning on a cruise you should consider staying at this Inn.

Nice older hotel. We stayed in the older section up front and were very pleased with the hotel. The desk clerk allowed us to check in early, so we put out bags up and headed for the ferry. My wife loves to go back and forth on the ferry so she can watch the dauphins play. The room was very large and even had a small breakfast nook. Breakfast was alright. Nothing fancy but fresh and ready. (Coffee was a bit rough but drinkable)

We spent a wonderful week in this hotel, our room was in the newest addition, our room was large and comfortable, full of light, hotel was clean and follow covid 19 protocols, so we need to request extra towels, trash bags and take out trash because not housekeeping personal is permitted in the room while guest are there.
Breakfast was grab an go ( cereal, pastries, kolaches, fruit, milk and yogurt, etc) coffee supplies for coffee maker needs to be requested in the reception.
Pool and restaurant were close in order to comply with covid19 protocols.
Mask use is required .It was very different summer vacation.
Ask about the covid19 protocols at your arrival, We where confused after one day of having housekeeping service and two days in a row of not housekeeping.

In March of 2021, my organization signed a contract for 25 rooms so we could take a group of kids to galv. When we got there, they didn’t have our rooms. Like, they actually said “we don’t know if we’ll have the rooms available at all”. A signed contract. And, they didn’t seem to care the impossible situation they put us in. I wish I could give negative stars.

Worst hotel ever stayed in! The website doesn’t show the current state of how the hotel really is. I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but holy crap!
Lighting poor in bathroom, mini fridge didn’t cool in room. Furniture, phone and lamps super outdated, stained and scratched all up! Pillows were old and lumpy, maybe from 1982. Hotel view from window was a giant rusted water tank. The grounds were in terrible shape. Didn’t even mention half the place had burned down and is fenced off. Couldn’t locate front office due to no signs! Had to ask another guest. Ice machine didn’t work. Breakfast that’s offered was late both days and something I wouldn’t even feed to my dogs. Stale isn’t even the word! Worst coffee! Shower head points to the wall can’t even adjust it and it feels like you’re showing with a fire hose! Broken bathroom tile that comes up when you step on it!
I could go on and on… extremely disappointed!

Hi. We have stayed here a couple of times while visiting Galveston. While it’s not our hotel of choice, it is a good hotel for the value. Moody Gardens hotel and resort is our favorite place to stay however sometimes it’s not in the budget and is at least twice the price of the Inn at the Waterpark. The rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Hotel staff are always nice. We stay in the west tower which is the newer of the rooms. If you want to be near Moody Gardens this is an affordable alternative. Oh and it has free Putt Putt golf!

We came to this hotel for a night stay before a cruise. I chose it for the low price and we have stayed here in the past. I was very disappointed in our stay. The lobby was a long wait to be waited on due to two guests with issues. Not all rooms have elevators so we asked for one with elevators which we got, but the parking garage smelled so bad of old trash. Then we get to the room and it smelled like mildew as soon as we walked in. The rooms are in need of a desperate make over . Breakfast was average . We will not be staying here again. I felt sick in the morning from sleeping in that musty room. My family asked me to never book it again.

We stayed in this hotel 5 times. Excellent 2 star hotel for families who want to stay close to water park and Moody Gardens, for people who like mini golf, nice pool, and continental breakfast. There is covered parking. 2 minutes driving to the beach. 10 minutes driving to a nice gym( $10 day use). Hotel is not new but well maintained.
5 stars from us.

Babe's Beach would be about an 8th of a mile, where as East Beach is approx. 4 miles.
We have discount tickets for Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens.
If you reserved the Cruise package the shuttle is included, if not there is a $15.00 per person charge for the shuttle.
I don't know...sorry.
It is a continental breakfast, with pancakes, fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, and juices.
