From the time we checked in and were upgraded to a tower room until checkout we were treated exceptionally well. Every employee from the valet to the bell boy to bartenders and other staff all made us feel welcome. I don’t think there was a single time that when walking past an employee that they didn’t greet me with smile. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
Over the years we have stayed at the Hilton Galveston Island for a night or two before and after a cruise, as well as an extended stay of 3 or 4 days just to enjoy the pool, and other Galveston Island attractions. I admit that in the past the Hilton Galveston has been hit and miss. However, our last two stays (one was thanksgiving week 2017) and 2019 Fourth of July weekend were as close to perfect as they could be. We flew down to Galveston to see a concert on the 5th but thought we would stay and enjoy the pool and local restaurants. As usual our room was not ready early (they are always busy and clean as fast as they can, I witnessed the cleaning staff and they work very hard) so we changed into swim clothes and sat at the swim up bar for an hour. Troy was the bartender and made us feel very welcome and served us promptly and made great conversation. We later met Troy at the lobby bar, and he was still in great form for us as well as all other patrons that night. We used Hilton points for our stay which allowed us to splurge on a cabana for the three days we were there. When I called to get information, Ethan (we never saw Ethan during our stay) convinced me of the perks as the price is high. We had fruit, water, champagne and Juice every day. And I believe we could have asked for just about anything. All the things we ordered were promptly and professionally served by BARBARA. Yes, I put Barbara’s name in caps because she deserves a big shout. She made our trip. She is one of the hardest working people I have every encountered. She told us that our good fruit trays etc. were made possible by Chef Joe so thank you to him as well. Barbara was backed up by probably the best pool manager I have met and for sure the best I at the Hilton Galveston, Jose. Jose had it together and was constantly ensuring that ALL guests were taken care of properly and were happy. We will be back for a quick weekend to enjoy what seemed to be a much better managed hotel, pool and food services. One warning to all. Stay away from the smash burger and fries at the pool…… THEY ARE ADDICTIVE.…
The wife and I were so pleased with our stay at the Hilton Galveston. Cindy at the front desk was very helpful. I met the manager Jeremy when he noticed my Ohio shirt and we bonded over both being from the Valley. He was a great kid but an even better manager, told me and Peggy to let him know if we needed anything at all. On our second day there we had an amazing burger at the restaurant and we met Cybil who was so warm and welcoming. Peg said that any time we come back down to Galveston, this will be where we stay and I totally agree. Loved the staff, loved the burger, loved the trip!
We are a HiltonHonor diamond member and it was our first visit to Hilton Galveston Island Resort. The staff, from the registration desk to the Bell man, was very friendly and helpful. The property is nicely located next to the Galveston Convention Center and nearby restaurants and is very clean. It also has a Tesla EV charging station in the back though not advertised. Surprisingly, the foods at the restaurant are very good and we had breakfast and lunch there.
I’ve never met a better or friendlier staff at any resort. Valet, front desk, restaurant staff, and the manager were all amazing. It was Mardi Gras weekend which is crazy and they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!!!
