I visited Trois estate for a weekend with a group of friends, as soon as we arrived we were greeted with amazing views and smiles from all employees. The atmosphere of the property took my breath away, as you look up at the sky at night, you see an amazing star lit sky with enchanted rock only a mile away. The rooms we stayed in were very nicely furnished and had all of the necessities we needed to enjoy our stay. I highly recommend Trois estate for any one looking to get away and enjoy the beautiful Texas hill country and absolutely incredible food. This place will have my business forever!

Trois Estates is positioned directly across from the majestic Enchanted Rock which makes it an ideal place to stay and enjoy day trips hiking in and around the state park. Trois is ideally located remotely enough from the town of Fredericksburg to be quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to enjoy all that Fredericksburg has to offer. The estate is owned and run by Rebecca Trois who is truly invested in the care and happiness of all her guests. She makes you feel, almost immediately, as if you are part of her own cherished family. The property is designed in an old world fashion of adobe type buildings with antique wooden doors and lots of wrought iron. Our room was equipped with a kiva style fireplace which we enjoyed several nights. A stay here is a delightful and unique experience. I can't write enough good comments about Trois Estates. If you want different than a usual cookie cutter hotel stay, then you will love this place...it's more of an adventure. This was our second time staying on this property. We will be back.

My granddaughter was visiting and we had planned to go to Enchanted Rock so decided to treat ourselves to a night there. It is like stepping back in time to a gracious lifestyle filled with sensory delights. It is a feast for the eyes. It would be easy to imagine riding up to the place on your horse in colonial Mexico or Spain. Rebecca Trois is a delightful hostess and made us feel so welcome. The room was furnished with heavy Spanish furniture and even a saddle (which I loved being a horsewoman myself) The bed was so comfy and had beautiful brocade pillows and a spread. I love the old doors they used everywhere. There is a courtyard where everyone has a table and chairs to use and at night they have it nicely lit. We had a bottle of wine waiting for us. The next morning breakfast was brought to us which consisted of pancakes with caramelized bananas, eggs, sausage, hash browns, English muffins, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. I might have even left something out.

Rebecca's mom lives there too and my granddaughter had a good visit with her. There are friendly dogs and cats to love on while you're enjoying your wine in the courtyard. Another wonderful surprise was to find artist Judith Lightfeather there. She shared her art with us and she is amazing.

I wanted a nice place to stay with my granddaughter and she was over the moon with the experience. We will go back again and again and again. Thank you for making a wonderful memory for us, Rebecca.

We have been looking forward to a trip here for several years. We were very disappointed and within an hour of our arrival considered going back to town to find another place to stay.
The drive in set a wonderful expectation, but much of the property seemed almost abandoned. We were not greeted by any staff and had to hunt down someone to get our room key (it was not in our ‘welcome envelope). We were not aware the restaurant was closed and only serving breakfast. So we had to drive all the way back to town for dinner and snacks. There were no snacks or food of any kind on the property which is a good 20 minute drive from town. There was a bottle of wine and water in the fridge...but not a single glass or cup of any kind in our room.

Why wife refused to touch the duvet, both the pillows and the bed were lumpy and worn.
A musty smell, and the Mud dauber (wasp) nests on the bed posts only added to the ‘abandoned feel’ of our stay.

Breakfast consisted of unseasoned scrambled eggs, frozen hash browns, frozen sausage patties and a small plate of fruit. We never saw the fruit basket pictured on the website. The coffee was some of the worst (highly bitter) we’ve had in a while, so we had to get dressed and drive all the way to town for a decent breakfast and coffee.

The antique shoppes and the museum we were looking forward to were closed and didn’t appear to have been open in some time.
I remember reading how the doors for all the buildings had been imported and were unique...and they were, but they do not appear to have been well cared for and it was disappointing to see the state they were in.
This included our door which had a large gap and we had to use a pillow to stop the significant cold & noisy draft into our room.

We had to run the heater overnight and woke up to a pool of water in the center of our room.

The Chapel and the underground pool were AMAZING and the only real highlight of our stay. The view of enchanted rock in the distance was good, but not enough to overcome the areas of disappointment we experienced during our stay. There was simply a lack of things to turn our stay into an ‘experience’. No vineyards or history to make the stay memorable or inviting.

Considering the number of vineyards with B&Bs as well as the number of places in town...Trios Estate is not a place we would stay again

I visited The Trois Estates Bed and Breakfast with my mom before we hiked Enchanted Rock this week. The view from their viewing deck during both sunset and sunrise was relaxing filled with different comfy chairs. Our room had a fireplace for warm cozy evening wine. Everyone on the staff was friendly and the attention to detail with everything on the property made us feel like we were on a vacation tailored just for us. I will 100% be back to check out the other villas and spend a longer trip. 10/10!!!

If you are looking for something off the beaten path, the Trois Estate is it. Built in the late nineties, with amazing structural antiques from Europe, you get the sense of the dreams that went into it. We explored the grounds in wonder with some doors opening to places which looked abandoned, and others to amazing beauty. The chapel and grotto, and the views at sunrise and sunset are stunning. We stayed Sunday through Tuesday after Valentine's day so there were few guests, but the surprises of the owner who is a Chef, preparing breakfast and telling us the history of the place as well as two other guests, aging professional singers strumming their guitars were fond memories we will always carry with us.

After months of being locked up due to Covid19, I wanted a place where I could disconnect and revisit a time before masks and safe distancing. When you drive into to the property, you are immediately transferred into a village from an old Western movie! After getting settled and enjoying some personal liquid refreshments, I ventured out and walked the property. Rooms are decorated in unique themes, so each visit offers a new adventure. As you sit in the saloon, you can close your eyes and vision John Wayne walking in the door bigger than life! Next you visit the roof top and you can see forever in all directions! I was there during the day, but I can imagine a sunset with a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers and great conversation. The quietness was relaxing and peaceful! They only serve breakfast, so bring something for lunch/dinner because there is so much to see that you don't want to return to town! As I walked the various paths, I could feel the stress and tension fade away. The solitude was just what I needed!
I plan to return soon because I had no cell connection, which meant no calls, no emergency text messages, and no solving work problems. As I drove out Sunday and saw the cell phone come arrive and messages beeping, I realized I was back to masks. However, this time was different because my energy was renewed and I knew I could escape again when needed!

This place is in serious need of a total resort remodel! No joke, this place needs millions of dollars invested. All the pictures on the sites are very old and not current. All of the landscaping is overgrown and the water features are empty or total mosquito breeding grounds. The grotto is still functional, but that is it. The restaurant only serves pizzas (that are not very good, maybe DiGiourno or frozen??). The breakfast is a quick buffet of eggs, bacon and sausage. Only some of the rooms are open and they are also in bad shape. You can tell that at one time this place was pretty awesome. Come to find out, the owners got a nasty divorce and the place has gone to hell in a hand basket. I DO NOT recommend anybody going to this place, especially when they still want $200 a night!!! Oh yeah, there is probably a 100 stray cats living there as well.

First of all, I have waited a entire year to stay here. The photos are beautiful and close to Enchanted Rock. I was very excited to stay here for New Years weekend with family. We booked 3 rooms total. Drove 700 miles to stay there.
The photos are very professional and the beginning of the catfished experience. Buildings in disrepair with multiple buildings that look abandoned, trash on grounds, at least a dozen or more feral cats on premise with cat feces noticiable, and general feeling creepiness.
There was no one at check in. Just an envelope with last name and keys. Our first room had a padlock as a lock for the room which could easily be used to lock someone in the room from outside. The room was dim, shower small and dingy.
The second room deemed pet friendly had a very strong odor of mold, the couch was visibiably filthy and had a dumpster smell to it. I was only able to stay in that room for approximately 15 mins before I developed shortness of breath and my face became flushed. The toilet in this room did not flush unless the lid was removed and plug manipulated.
The 3rd room in the "lodge" appeared clean but door opened to public area where saloon/pool table was.
I was on the property for 45 minutes total. Never saw any staff to address these issues with. No cell coverage to call management. I saw one unidentified male who questioned me about what lodge room I had and asked if I had registered my dog. I assume he saw me through a camera bc this is the only time I encountered this person.
Being unable to walk my dog d/t all the feral cats on premise, unable to tolerate the room that caused me to have shortness of breath and unable to find anyone to address these issues, I left and reserved rooms at the Hilton. I was finally able to reach someone who told me management would call me the following morning. Several calls and 4 emails later, I finally received an email (unsigned) on Monday stating no refund would be given and that "there was no smell and rooms were in working order". I did not drive over 700 miles to leave my destination and pay more money to stay in a motel. I don't have existing medical problems that would have caused shortness of breath. The redness in my face was not relieved for almost an hour after I left the premises. My complaints when addressed 5 days later were dismissive at best. This place is a health hazard and has been reported to the Texas BBB.

DO Not Go here if you are expecting some luxury spa resort. This is a quirky, unique, artistic destination that allowed us privacy and relaxation. The review saying that it needs millions of dollars invested would unfortunately take away from its unique charm. So sure, there are some things that could be updated, but the rooms are clean, the linens wonderful and the views absolutely breathtaking. If you are good with glamping, then this is your place. We stayed on a Monday night so the restaurant was not open, so we simply picked up a charcuterie board in Fredericksburg, bought a couple of good bottles of wine and some water bottles and we were set. The ladies at the front desk immediately accommodated us with bringing ice and wine glasses to the room when requested. The views of Enchanted Rock, The Sunset and Stargazing surpassed our expectations. Breakfast was served and included and it was nothing spectacular, but certainly good enough to start our day. We look forward to returning with friends and taking it all in again, but would certainly return for a quick romantic getaway again. *nice perk was that we had no cell service in our room*
