I surprised my retired AF veteran husband with a stay at the Hanger Hotel for his birthday. We were lucky enough to see 2 military chanute helicopters take off about an hour after we arrived. He was thrilled! We went to the diner before checking in, as we were a little early

There are three things that you need to know about this hotel. One, The intent is to create the image of a WWII era US Army Air Corp Officer's club/hotel. On this point, they did well. It's literally next to the runway at the small Fredericksburg airport. The phones, decor

We have stayed at the Hanger in the past and have always found it clean, tastfully appointed and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. The cafe is open on the weekend, so if you want convient breakfast midweek, you will have to look elsewhere.

Are there coffee makers in the rooms?
No, there aren't. That very likely would not fit into room concept. Room design is consequent 1940s style. Which is one of the reason why I find the hotel outstanding. There are 2 free bottles of water with "Hangar Hotel"-label in the room. Kept a bottle as a souvenir.
