We really enjoyed our stay at Walnut Canyon Cabins! Carl & Rhonda were so nice when we checked in and gave us all the info we needed. The cabin (Siesta) was charming and what struck me was how CLEAN it was inside and out! Considering you're out in the country I expected some cobwebs at least on the patio furniture, but no! The bed was comfortable (sleep number mattress) and the sheets were really soft and nice. Amazing views from the deck!! Everything was provided in the kitchen to make a nice breakfast. We'll be back!
We just love the quiet get-away. The cabins have everything you need including a delicious breakfast each morning. Feeding and watching the deer is so peaceful and calming. We've stayed in the Tree House and the Milky Way and would recommend either of them. It's far enough away from the chaos and rush of city life, but also close to Fredericksburg's downtown and wineries if you want to get out and see the sights. There are some great restaurants in the area, but you can also bring groceries and cook/grill at the cabin and never have to leave! We will definitely be returning.
Perfect! Stayed three nights in the Siesta cabin and it was awesome. Originally booked another cabin, but wanted to stay another night so the owners accommodated us by moving us. Cabins were clean and well stocked. They left eggs, biscuits, and ham for breakfast! There are cows in the pen you can feed treats to, chickens pecking around, Deer you can feed right off the back deck, had 9 come in at one time and had a pig and piglets come and eat. There is even a deck on the roof for star gazing. Location was perfect being right down the street from Old Tunnel State Park and only a few minutes from Fredericksburg and Luckenbach. The owners were away but the neighbor came by to look after the place and feed the animals, he was a good dude. Not sure we will ever be back to Texas, but if we do we will surely stay he again!…
This place is a hidden gem!!! Carl made our stay amazing- he was very welcoming. The fresh farm eggs were incredible! It’s quiet and peaceful! It’s not too far from town, so you can grab a bottle of wine and sit on the back patio and feed the deer. We will be back!
My wife and I recently spent 3 very enjoyable days staying in the Hideaway Cabin at Walnut Canyon Cabins. After the hustle and bustle and extreme heat of San Antonio, even with its unique Riverwalk, the cabin and Texas Hill Country provided the low-key respite we needed. On each of our 3 evenings we sat on the cabin balcony feeding the numerous wandering deer that showed up to eat the cracked corn provided by the Walnut Canyon owners. The hills below reminded us very much of vistas in the Tuscan area of Italy. Preparing our breakfast with the provided eggs, excellent Canadian bacon from Opa’s in Fredricksburg, fresh berries, coffee, and biscuits worked out very well. We can highly recommend Walnut Canyon Cabins to all searching for lodging in the area.
I do not know where to start. Seriously. This is our THIRD time staying at the Walnut Canyon Cabins, and we are already planning our fourth. Carl and Rhonda are some of the most down to earth, profession, enjoyable, freaking awesome people to be around, and their cabins most certainly follow the trend! We have stayed in three of their cabins so far, and it is seriously hard to say which one is our favorite .... but we do know that Carl and Rhonda are some of our favorite people! We go down to Fredericksburg frequently, and when we go, we are staying at the Walnut Canyon Cabins without a doubt. Shoot, if we go anywhere within a couple hours of Fredericksburg we're going to stay there too hahaha! Starting with the cabins, every single time we've walked in, they have been immaculate! They are all exceptionally clean, very well laid out, and they are all very welcoming!! All amenities are there, from toiletries (such as soap, shampoo, robes, towels, and PREMIUM TOILET PAPER!!), to cookware with seasoning and all pots, pans, skillets, trays, sprays and everything, to the bedroom, where the beds, sheets, and pillows are actually comfortable!! The restrooms are spotless, the floors are clean enough to eat off of, for a clean freak, I have found no faults! The property is absolutely amazing! Everything is well set, there are chickens and cows you can feed should you wish (should also note, there is no cow smell to be sniffed!!) and it makes for a very relaxed environment. For breakfast, or whichever meal you prefer, they provide fresh eggs, smoked meat, fruits, biscuits, local coffee, and even jellies and honey! Coupled with the well stocked kitchen, you're able to prepare everything as you prefer. The views from all cabins are exceptional, and it really lets you relax and breathe! Rhonda and Carl also provide a large bag full of deer corn that you can throw off the back porch, and there will be deer all over the place. We counted up to 10 last night! They will almost walk right up to the porch, and don't even seen to be frightened by movement, so you can also have little kiddos running around without worrying about them scaring them off. We are certain we are leaving some stuff out, just go ahead and book a stay, and see what it's about. Thank you again Carl and Rhonda, we can't tell you how much we enjoy your property with y'all, Karl and Jordan…
We stayed here for three nights in April, 2022 along with our three grown children and three grandchildren. We fed cows, found eggs, saw an armadillo and enjoyed sitting on our rooftop in the morning and evening. Karl and Rhonda are wonderful and it was delightful just staying there! One word of advice however, book through them, not through a booking site like Booking.com or something!!!
The complimentary farm fresh eggs and local breakfast supplies were absolutely wonderful! The view was spectacular and the deer came right up to the back deck! The isolated area makes for peaceful mornings! We enjoyed our stay very much!
Cozy and private. Clean cabin, slept well. Spent two nights with my wife and 7 month old son. He loved the large open area. We stayed in Milky Way which has a king bad. Hot tub around back was very nice. Way out in the country makes the Hill Country experience a blast.
Kids wanted to see some stars, and I happened to come across The Siesta cabin. My Family of 4 were well suited and well taken care of in this cabin. The southern hospitality and friendliness from Carl and Rhonda made the stay so much more inviting and enjoyable. From the fresh eggs and other breakfast items prepared, to the movie selections catered to my kid's age range. It made the stay relaxing and a place we will long to return to, to escape the noise and hustle of the city. The whole property is gorgeous, with some friendly farm friends. The pictures do no justice, for how amazing and cozy this cabin is. The views from the top are awe inspiring, anytime of day. Caught a sunrise, a sunset, and the STARS!!!! Great stay for a quiet couples getaway, or taking the family off the grid. Thank You Again Carl and Rhonda!!!…
