Country Inn Cottes has won the hearts of many guests with its clean and inviting rooms, though a few find them a tad snug. Its cozy country decor and fireplaces contribute to the establishment's rustic charm, a detail often celebrated by visitors. The cottages, complete with appealing porches and amenities such as hot tubs, are generally appreciated, although some guests suggest enhancements in certain areas. The service at Country Inn Cottages garners positive remarks for its attentiveness, despite occasional feedback indicating potential for improvement. Overall, the hotel offers a commendable value proposition, marred slightly by infrequent billing issues.

We landed here honestly because of the price and the good ratings on Trip Advisor. We were happy with our stay. We stayed in the motel just outside of town, but they also offer cottages in a different part of town as well, but those were booked up. The motel was clean and comfortable again for a very good price. This is an old motor lodge type place, where you pull up to your room. The place is dressed up in a Texas look and is very nice. Also, nice folks that own and operate it, and are very friendly. They offer a few packaged type items and coffee at 8:00 for a continental breakfast, but we opted to try the Sunset Cafe which was a great choice! I would land here again no question about it. Town is an easy mile or so trip, a small store for snacks etc is across the street from the motel too.

The Lodge and Country Inn & Cottages were the perfect setting for my daughter's wedding weekend! Our guests enjoyed all the amenities and rustic charm of the cottages. The Homestead House and patio area were the perfect place for our family and friends to gather for drinks, lawn games and hanging out. The deer, elk, and cows were welcomed special guests and everyone enjoyed feeding them. The cottages were impeccably clean and comfy. The bride and groom wanted a "family-reunion style" wedding weekend and this Texas Hill Country ranch provided that an so much more. Janette and her team were so helpful and assisted all our guests in choosing the perfect cottage for their families. Planning a destination wedding from out of town is always challenging but the folks at The Lodge and Country Inn & Cottages made it so easy. The meal vouchers were great and we enjoyed using them at Andy's Cafe and The Old German Bakery to provide breakfast for all our guests. It is absolutely true what they say "come as strangers, leave as friends". We are looking forward to staying again as a family to celebrate many anniversaries with the happy couple.

I have stayed at several very nice B&Bs in F'burg, each with its own charm. The cabins here are very nice. There are new cabins built in the style of old F'burg and there is also the original homestead from the 1800s. The deer and elk really add to the experience. It was wonderful to put corn out just feet in front of the porch and have deer come to eat right in front of us. However, what truly elevates this place above others is Erin Frantzen. She is awesome and exactly what a hostess/manager should strive to be. She made us feel as though we were the only guests and she was there just for us....Texas hospitality at its finest!!!

Stayed in cottage # 2. Friends stayed in cottage #5. Five was very large with a full kitchen. Our cottage was small with a small refrigerator and microwave. We drove around the entire property and I would suggest you stay in the newer cabins in the back. The front cabins (I think numbered 1-6) are old and have old furniture. Newer cabins in the back looked much nicer. Pool is small. Hot tub was right outside our door but unfortunately weather did not cooperate. It is pretty cool having the miniature horses walking the grounds. As well as deer at sunset. The elk are penned in but usually sit next to the fence for treats. Cottages are about 10 minutes from town. Very quiet area. Weren't able to use the firepits either due to weather. Cottage was clean. Vouchers were given for breakfast at 6 different restaurants in town. They were accepted without any issues.

Basic, drive up to your doorway motel. Check-in was simple and straightforward. Lots of music was blaring from the parking lot when we arrived, but after closing our door it wasn’t noticed. Our room (119) was close to the highway, the highway traffic could be heard.

The room was clean, but furniture included wooden chairs with no padding. The only place to relax was on the bed. Flooring was wood laminate and in good condition.

The bed was a king-size and was comfortable. The fitted sheet was not deep pockets and kept working loose.

The bathroom was very small, the shower was dark. The water controls in the shower work in opposite directions and it was difficult to regulate water temperature. The shower rod kept falling down.

When the air was on it was quite loud.

The blinds would not close sufficiently to offer privacy. Thankfully there were also curtains in the room.

The rate for the room was adequate for what was received.

I have never stayed anywhere, that I was treated as well as here. From two different service people, I was treated as a new friend, from a phone call I received, to make sure I knew how to find the location, to checking out. I will definitely stay here in the future. No frills, everything you need, clean, comfortable and safe for a senior citizen

We have stayed here at least three times before and we will return for future visits. We like it! This is a good location for us and love that it is pet friendly with a reasonable pet fee. The parking is always close to your room which makes it easy to unload or load your luggage.

My husband and I stayed in the honeymoon suite and it was absolutely perfect! Isolated from the town but close enough to get downtown in ten minutes. The room was rustic and tastefully decorated making one want to move to the country and live in a cottage forever. Staff was helpful, we had a bottle of champagne waiting in the room when we arrived and bought a firelog to have a fire in our own private fireplace. We also bought deer corn and got to feed the deer right next to our cottage! Amazing experience, will definitely be coming back!

the toilet was was loose in bathroom . plus could not use jacuzzi tub due to the fact that ran out of hot water before it could cover jets. we had to cancel our first trip February 19th due to winter storm. would not give a refund but issued a credit. so the next available day was march16th. we were told we had to pay an additional $135.00 because march is Spring rates. it was not our fault there was a winter sorm. should have worked with us on on rates. I will not be making an other reservation with them.

Stayed in the motel portion for a one night visit to the area. The room was modest, but clean and more than met my expectations. The rate was low, especially compared to other nearby places. The staff was friendly and considerate. Our room was near the highway but there was not noticeable highway noise in the room. The air conditioner was running all night because it was a warm muggy time, and that may have drowned out the road noise. We used the pool - it was small, but clean, and more than adequate for a short dip. We were more interested in seeing the town so motel amenities were not important to us. Overall, a place I would go back to

According to their website, the policy only makes a distinction between under 15 lbs and over 15 lbs. Since it also says that your pet has to be created when you’re not in the room, it sounds like if you’ve got a crate that can fit in the room, you’re good to go.

Does anyone know how far the motel is from the cottages as I have seen conflicting info on locations?!
Answer from David J M

The website says the cottages are 5 miles from downtown Fredericksburg. That seems right to me. It is short drive to town from the cottages. It was easy to go into town to eat and sightsee and then return to the cottages to relax.
