I was a little concerned when I read some of the reviews but my experience was generally positive. Started out a bit negative when I got to the hotel 15 min before check-in they said room should be 20 minutes and they would call me. I went back to the desk over 30 min later and still no room, so I handed off my bags and checked in later that evening. Second check-in attempt was fine and upon request they gave me an upgraded corner room (Diamond member). I didn’t make use of the breakfast with my Diamond food vouchers because 10am on a Sunday is just too early to stop serving breakfast. I used some of the credits getting a couple of lattes at the coffee shop….just would have been nice I’d the coffee shop offered some snacks - pastries or light breakfast sandwich throughout the day. Latte was really good though. The room….very nicely sized. Most comfortable bed I’ve slept in a long while (another reason I wasn’t waking up for a free breakfast before 10am). The shower also was fantastic. I took 2 very long showers. Dual rainfall showerheads and great water pressure. Clean shower that was finished in a black stone tile. Finally location. Great location easy walk to central train station (8th and 7th ave closed including sidewalks so be aware if you are walking. I had to walk up a few blocks). Able to walk to Sundance square, the water gardens, and easy bus ride up to the stockyards. Handy tip - use the GoPass app to buy bus tickets. Buy all day pass for $5, works on buses and the TexRail train between DFW and Ft Worth. I would definitely stay here if I’m in town again.

In town for Wife's Birthday and to see the Big Boy train. Hilton hotels are where we always stay and this one was very nice. Calling Valet to let them know we needed our car had it waiting for us when we got down stairs

Room needs maintenance bad. Trim missing on vanity. Glass broken on picture. Lamp shade broken and loose. No ice machine and supplied ice was out at times. Bathrooms were small. Worst thing encountered was we found blood on the mattress cover. Called and housekeeping was there and changes everything on the bed.

First time here, to this 'historic' hotel. Didn't know...till the staff advised that it was an historic hotel. Well, for me, the decor seemed dated.....guess I like more modern stuff. Elevator though was a tad rickety....doors were shuddering as it went up the floors. They had updated the doors with proximity card sensors....however, the 'historic' doors had to have their trim notched away to make way for the door handle - a little snafu (see pic attached) I think. Room was decent...and spacious, with a wide screen TV, updated bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. However, shower does have stains along the edges. Room temp was cold - even when the thermostat was set to 82, it did not warm up past 69. Had to call for a technician (couple of times) to come fix that. Mind you, a storm had just passed with black ice a day ago. There was no business center available, because (was told) it's an historic hotel. Hmmm ! One would have to go to the FedEx business center to get that done. (When did business centers disappear ??) Fitness center was spacious, with adequate equipment, machines and free weights. Water from the water dispenser though had a strong chlorine odor. Location was close to several restaurants and right next to the JFK Memorial - pretty convenient.

I travel extensively and while this hotel isn't the newest it's certainly the cleanest and friendliest. I checked in late and left very early for my meetings. The entire team was extra helpful. I even asked to print out a document that I needed unexpectedly for my meeting and they took care of it. Bottom line: they go above and beyond to help their guest have a wonderful experience. You can't buy kindness.
