I found Azalea B&B through a hotel site and decided to stay there based on the high ratings. We drove over from Dallas, and the Azalea was easy to find, with plenty of parking in the back. It's not the greatest neighborhood, but very accessible to downtown. Martha and her husband are wonderful hosts. She was very solicitous of our needs and easy to talk to. Breakfast had a homemade feel, and there was a lot of it. The meat-free egg dish was appreciated (there are multiple dishes on rotation). The room was well laid out, with lots of antiques. The large bed was comfortable, with an overhead fan, and the neighborhood was quiet at night. The bathroom had a full jacuzzi tub with a shower, and my wife mentioned the full size makeup mirror. Comfortable! I would certainly come back.…
A lovely quaint and very clean B&B with really friendly and helpful owners. They were able to assist with everything from local recommendations to local history. The true cowboy experience from artifacts to the man himself. I hadn’t slept well in months and the bed was so comfortable and cottage very welcoming that I was able to fully relax and get the best night’s sleep. Such a yummy and filling breakfast, enough to keep us going for a full day of driving and exploring. Thanks so much to Martha and Richard for being so welcoming and for the great stories - can’t wait to visit again to hear more.
Can’t hardly put into words how this was such a “once in a lifetime “experience having my outdoor wedding at the Azalea Plantation!! Loved our suite, Evening in Paris !!! Walking the grounds were sensational & Martha was great! Breakfast was excellent!! Will definitely be back!
Richard and Martha were the best! Lovely room and awesome breakfast. We came as guests for our 5th wedding anniversary and left as family. Gave us excellent advice on where to eat and local places we needed to visit. House is very inviting and we didn’t want to leave. Would definitely come here again.
Thanks to Covid, our wedding plans were canceled. I found Azalea Plantation B&B and both my husband and I were so glad the original plans had to change. Martha and Richard are amazing hosts and the sweetest couple. They made our stay at Azalea Plantation a happy and memorable one. Not only was our stay exceptional, but they made our small wedding more special than we imagined it could be. The B&B is beautiful, private, clean, and cozy. Martha is an amazing cook so all our meals (we stayed 2 nights) were better than restaurant style. She and Richard went over and beyond to make our little wedding, and stay, a very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I stayed at the Azalea during Labor Day weekend which was also our 25th anniversary. It was a perfect stay! Martha helped us book a couple’s massage for the afternoon we arrived. Warm cookies were available when we arrived. We stayed in the Rose of Sharon room. There was lots of space, the tub fit two, and there were plenty of towels, toiletries, etc. In fact, if you forget toothpaste, etc. there’s a basket in the hallway with a selection of complimentary items. There’s also a small fridge filled with waters and soft drinks complimentary for guests. The grounds are shaded. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Although breakfast is available from 9-10, there is coffee in the dining room beginning at 7:30. Martha and Richard are gracious and interesting hosts.
The Magnolia Suite was such a cute and welcoming place to spend our wedding night. It is secluded and tucked away making it feel like its all yours. All of the little details and decor throughout the suite was a perfect touch. The walk in shower and spacious jacuzzi tub was wonderful. The bed was big and comfy. Our breakfast was delivered to our room and it was delicious. We will definitely be back to check out the other suites. Thank you for offering such a great place to stay!
We stayed in the magnolia cottage. It is newly remodeled, and the decorations were as if we were in the tropics. Very calming, and reminiscing of Galveston or the Florida keys. We ordered chocolate covered strawberries which were plentiful and plump. We also ordered the couples massage. The ladies were knowledgable and respectful. They concentrated on areas we requested. The Fathers Day brunch was delicious. Covid 19 precautions were taken by the owners, so we felt safe. Ample space to social distance. The grounds are shady and beautiful. Attention to details were appreciated. We will definately stay here again when we can.
I surprised my wife with a small get away from the world. With everything going on right now, Azalea B&B was the perfect place to relax from bill, college, work, drama, etc. Martha and Richard had everything I ordered in place perfectly to surprise my wife. We stayed in the Magnolia room which was perfect for social distancing. The breakfast was personally delivered to our door and it was amazing! The vibe and energy from Martha and Richard was nothing short of INCREDIBLE!! If no one else visits, we definitely will again! The perfect getaway for when you just want to get AWAY!! Thank you so much Martha and Charles! Blessings to you both!!
We had a fabulous time at Azalea Plantation. We were celebrating our anniversary and took advantage of their packages that included chocolate-covered strawberries, champagne, flowers, and a commemorative plate. The Magnolia Room was awesome with lots of room - a living room/dining room area, a large shower and separate huge spa tube (room for 2!). We plan on coming back once a quarter for a quick, quiet get-away.
