Detailed Reviews
My husband and I stayed in this historic building that is now a bed and breakfast. It is a beautiful stroll into the past when things were well made and everyone wasn't in such a hurry to get to their next appointment.
The hotel has something to offer everyone. For historical buffs, there is a marker outside describing the history of the building. The interior is well preserved, with beautiful hardwood floors, tasteful art, and a very attentive staff. There is even a piano in the sitting room downstairs, and a claw foot tub in the bathroom across the hall from the kitchen. For those who adore comfort, there are large, cozy chairs and couch in the sitting room. Upstairs the bedroom has a huge leather chair and a big bed with a comforter so fluffy I didn't want to get out of bed. The flat screen TV mounted on the wall is the perfect height to view from bed, and there were a ton of dish channels to choose from. There is also a veranda which has several rocking chairs and a bench swing. There are a million pleasant details to discover, from a special cloth in the bathroom to remove makeup to a roomy wardrobe with interior full length mirror.
The owner, who makes the breakfast, greets you when you come downstairs in the morning. The breakfast is homemade and delicious. The plates and cups have a lovely blue pattern and the maps on the wall are very interesting.
Everything about this hotel speaks to the comforts of home as it was in years gone by. It is not just an overnight stay, but an experience. I highly recommend staying at this property.

Stayed here for a party in Flatonia and the overnight stay at Olle made our amazing weekend complete. The owner has thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay so wonderful. From the moment you walk in the door you just feel all your stress vanish because it is such a welcoming and comforting environment. We were welcomed right away and showed to our adorable room. Fresh cookies and banana bread were available for a sweet treat. The bed was very comfortable and all the little things you find at a hotel was available in our room- shower cap, laundry bag, shampoo and conditioner, softest towels and even a magnified make up mirror, etc. Rocking chairs on front porch and cute sitting parlors available to just sit and be still. Coffee and tea served as well. Oh- the breakfast at Darlins was icing on this weekend. Charming workers that love to greet you and take care of you with the yummiest of food. Didn’t want to leave but our tummies were full and happy and we headed back to Richmond. We will be back to stay at the Olle again and try burgers at Darlins!

The Olle Hotel impresses on every level. It's an old railroad hotel, which is impeccably maintained, spotlessly clean, fresh and cheery. True to its history, the hotel is traditional in its décor, but neither tired nor stuffy. Rather, it could be described as comfortably romantic. On a cold day, it would be so cozy to sit in the parlor in front of a blazing fire and, for the musically inclined, perhaps to play the baby grand piano. But since it was a breezy spring day, we were drawn to the porch and spent considerable time swinging on the porch swing while sipping sodas and nibbling fresh baked pecan cookies, both provided by our hostess Katherine. The dining room contains a fridge with some complementary sodas and juices and our stay included complementary tickets for breakfast at Darlin's Diner. Delish. The owners, Katherine and her husband, clearly put a lot of love, labor and care into the Olle and pay attention to the small details that really make for a wonderful guest experience. We stayed in a corner room. Between the comfortable bed and the cross breezes, we slept even better than at home. My husband was particularly impressed by the two functional chairs in the room, which also contained a nice writing desk, chocolates, and direct TV. And, even though the Olle was a railroad hotel, the room was quiet and we were not disturbed by trains during the night. Our stay at the Olle was delightful, and all too brief. We'd love to return to the Olle and spend a few more days!

Step back in time when you enter the Olle Hotel. You are free to slow down, relax and breathe deeply! The inn has a community kitchen with home-baked treats, drinks and other snacks that the guests can help themselves to. The sitting rooms are comfortable and the front porch has welcoming rockers. The beds are comfortable with soft white linens and the AC blows cold. Breakfast was at the diner around the corner and the food was scrumptious. You will get exceptional personal service at the Olle Hotel. It's very conveniently located just a few miles from Schulenberg if you want to tour the Painted Churches. Highly recommended!

This is an awesome historic hotel. So quaint, it was like stepping back in time but they made sure you had all the modern conveniences you could want. It was immaculately clean and the staff was really friendly making sure I knew what was going on in the community that I might like. Fresh coffee and home made banana bread plus drinks in the fridge that were free to take. The front porch had rockers to rest on and even mosquito spray was supplied.I would definitely recommend this over a large chain hotel/motel any time and would stay there again.

This was an average nights stay at a B&B. At arrival found out that there was an extra fee for credit card payments, I was never told over the phone or we would have brought a check. We were never told the stairs were so steep but I guess I should have expected it. The air conditioning unit was not working as well as it should. Room was nice, unlike the shower that had a shower head but not attached to the wall properly. There was a rusty nail where the shower head was hanging on. If you wanted to shower you would have to hold the shower head in one hand and use other hand to get soap and lather.
We found out during our check in that the Hotel was in the final steps of being sold. I chose the B&B based on location and small business with personal customer service. With no owner on location there was NO personal customer service only staff cleaning. Disappointed and regret staying.

On a cross country adventure we found the Olle Hotel in Flatonia, TX and it was amazing. I wish we had more than one night. The beds and bedding are incredible. My goal is to recreate the bed at my own house. I loved the decor I had to peek in the empty rooms. The breakfast was awesome also. My favorite was the fruit and coffee. Blackberries as big as my thumb, raspberries and kiwi all fresh and delicious. Didn’t expect that in January. If you find yourself anywhere close to Flatonia, Texas you won’t regret staying at the Olle Hotel Bed and Breakfast.

This was a lovely historical B & B. It was extremely well maintained and spotless and a pleasure to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee on a big beautiful porch❣️ Our beds were comfortable, bathrooms were modern ,so great water pressure, yet still retained the character of the hotel. The management and staff were very considerate and accommodating. An absolutely pleasure!

When is the last time you slept on ironed sheets? Everything was perfectly done, but in a friendly, welcoming way. From the wide front porch to the beautiful "front room," and the charming bedrooms, it is all a joy to behold. Delicious breakfast is a short, comfortable stroll around the corner. Coffee, tea, water and sodas plus homemade cookies and banana bread were available at all times. There is also a refrigerator where you can store your personal food, etc.
My sister and I found this a perfect jumping off point for a visit to the Painted Churches around Schulenberg and the Texas Clay Festival in Gruene. It was such a pleasure to return to the Olle Hotel after a long day. These are the most comfortable beds! We would stay at the Olle Hotel again.

We stayed in the Olle Cottage; we loved the charm of it. Kathy, the owner, is a first rate host and we were very happy with the service. Breakfast (included) at the Darlin Diner was tasty and filling. Recommend both breakfast tacos and blueberry pancakes.
