Rooms are a little dated as well as the bathrooms in them. Needs a renovation. Oceanaire restaurant in the lobby saved us as we got our room later than the posted check in hour. Would look at other options when I return to Dallas.
Great location. They remember your name. I just stayed again for another two nights. With everything crazy going on in the world, it was nice to meet my business teammates at Galleria and connect about wrestling and growing forward with our plans. But I want to point out that Westin staff made me feel remembered, and at home. The receptionists remembered me, and then my man James at the upstairs bar greeted me with a smile and remembered my favorite drink Wow! I’ll be back.
I really really really wanted to like my stay. I came here for business (4 nights) and I did my research as to which hotel to stay at. I chose this one because of the good overall reviews. The place looks nice when you're walking in -- and there were lots of other business meetings/events going on so I figured this was a high-quality hotel. Another note that may be of relevance: I requested a 1 King bed, but only got a 2 bed since apparently, a large group decided to extend their stay. PROS: front desk staff is really friendly, the second floor restaurant had really good food (I was delightfully surprised). These items are why I put 2 stars instead of 1. CONS: Cleanliness of room and BED BUGS. My first night, I noticed things were as clean as I wanted them to be. It was very clear that they didn't vacuum the mattresses, they didn't wipe frequently touched surfaces (light switches, phone, TV remote), and there were two wet spots on the carpet I only found after accidentally stepping in it (it smelled like carpet/spot cleaner --- yeah, I took a huge risk smelling it lol). I placed a note on the desk to please focus on these items and let them clean/reset the room after my first night. When I came back, these items looked exactly the same (the spots did NOT dry???) please see photos. Oddly enough it wasn't until the LAST NIGHT that I got bit. I got lots of bites on my leg in a line/pattern with no bite center -- classic bed bug bites, according to Google. I searched the mattress and could not find/see anything. Then I realized that one of the comforters was down-filled, while the other was synthetic (not sure what material, but the labels were different). I switched comforters in the middle of the night (to the synthetic one) and I didn't get any more bites than I had. So likely, the down-filled comforter had bed bugs in it. Again, I'm really disappointed because I wanted to like this hotel, and the reviews looked relatively good. This was a good lesson for me: just because it is or seems like a high-quality hotel, doesn't exempt them from the chance of having bed bugs. For reference, I was in room 1815, but since it was in the comforter, that thing could be anywhere at this point. I'm currently sanitizing and HOT drying my clothes for an hour whilst putting itch cream on my bites. Such a bummer.…
Good location, clean hotel. Some of the staff is really great, some is really horrible - I've never seen such a hit/miss inconsistency. In the restaurant bar, the guy would not even come out to take my order, made me shout my order across the restaurant. That's a first and disrespectful. There used to be a woman who worked there that was absolutely amazing and a sight for sore eyes. She's probably found a better gig. Wi-Fi cuts in/out - goes from fast to dead to fast - nobody cares - I know this because I've stayed here many times - so good luck doing zoom calls here - your VPN will hiccup too. Also, if you have anything delivered they won't let it up to your room - which if you have biz meetings in your room can be a problem. Really strange as this is in a good neighborhood, not some high crime downtown area that has weirdos wandering around outside. This hotel does not represent the brand. The good news is you can get a good deal, so I guess you get what you pay for. Maybe.…
Worst hotel ever, very dangerous with no respect for the customer, criminals everywhere you look! Please stay away! No service here, I had to go back down to the lobby to get water, and the hotel staff do not care for your safety! Be safe you might as well die
I went with my mom and best friend for a quick shopping trip. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. What stood out for me was the incredible service. Every employee we encountered from the front desk, 2nd floor bar, club level attendants, was beyond amazing. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and willing to go above and beyond. Last but not least, the beds and pillows are fabulous!!!
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend trip. It was the Marriott facility closest to the locations we visited during the weekend. Service was nice and no fuss. Dinner at the restaurant OceanAire (we had reservations) was suite nice.
I liked the location. Very nice to go to the lobby and enter the mall directly. The room they gave us seemed to be handicapped accessible which had a lot of room. The bathroom was a little smaller. We were placed on a lower floor so we had a inside hotel view from our window. Housekeeping never stopped by and asked if we needed towels or anything during our three day stay. It would have been nice to have them check in on us but maybe that’s their policy now. The only thing that was concerning is that the walls are paper thin. You could hear everything that the person in the room next to you was saying, and probably vice versa. Not very great for privacy. Otherwise all else was ok.
I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference in February....It was a great meeting place for the conference, but also a very nice place to stay...My room was immaculate and updated....Bed was comfortable and nice large shower with quality toiletries provided...I loved that I could get dinner in the mall and then get my exercise by walking. There were several great restaurants in the enclosed area and was nice not to leave the hotel to find food to eat....Mall hours were restricted and businesses closed at 8pm, but that was fine...Overall a great stay and would stay there again anytime!
Really nice hotel, friendly staff, 2nd floor restaurant excellent for breakfasts, lunch, dinner and great staff too. Ideal location for shopping mall with loads of excellent shops and food places . 12 minutes drive to downtown Dallas, plus gas monkey garage within 7 miles. Room excellent, spotless and well equipped. Would recommend.
