Long story short my I checked my luggage with the front desk for a few hours before heading to the airport. When I went to get my bag I noticed that the handle had been ripped off. I stayed calm realizing that mistakes happen and hoping that the Warwick and the manager Joy would make it right. Even though it took a little extra time waiting to hear from her she definitely made up for the mishap and I left the situation with a smile on my face knowing that there are still people and places out there that care about the customers experience. Thank you!
We enjoyed a welcoming experience at this historic hotel. The location is fantastic and the staff very friendly. Public area is quite small and parking was a bit of a trick so ponied up for the $32 valet service. My first room had a non-functioning A/C which doesn’t work on a Dallas afternoon in May, so was moved to a much nicer room - wish I had it to begin with - which had A/C. Worked out fine. I’d come back - the ultimate review, right?
This just isn’t a 4 star hotel. 2 stars at best, which is very misleading. Interior is extremely outdated both in the rooms, hallways and lobby and although it’s a beautiful building, there are ways to maintain the historic charm with the update this place needs. It honestly feels a bit eerie and should not be at the price point it’s at.
A lackluster performance by the Landmark Restaurant in the historic Melrose Hotel in Dallas. 175.00 wasted on a very unimpressive Easter/Passover Brunch Buffet. Gone are the lavish Holiday Buffet’s this once grand hotel was known for.
Terrible sleep! Woken up by 6am by construction. This hotel fails at the basic. My Wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway from the kids but woken up by construction instead. The service, spa and bar are really nice. The Library Bar has great live music.
The KS room was large and lovely -- with a desk, a pair of chairs w/ottomans, and a lovely bathroom. The elevators are quick. The staff was friendly and helpful. But we have 2 complaints: the restaurant is never open for dinner! Yes there are plenty of nearby restaurants, but if you don't want to go out (due to heat, rain, tired, or don't want to wander the 'hood on your own) then your only options are room service or eat in the dark, crowded, noisy bar. NOT what I'd expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel. Second complaint: excessive charges. They tell you "we'll bill you for any mini-bar charges after housekeeping cleans your room following your departure." We were rather shocked when the bill came in the next morning -- about 50% more than expected. And when we called to discuss the charges the young woman said the price of one of the items was more than double the price list in the room. And we expected taxes, but "gratuities?" A 25% gratuity?!!?? On the mini-bar? Overall we enjoyed our stay, but this isn't a 4-star property, so we thought the place was overpriced for what we got.…
If you want charges of $350 charged to your room from their Bar "The Library" without ever stepping foot in it, then I guess this would be a good place to stay. I called to file a complaint and got absolutely nowhere. What a joke of a hotel.
When I treat myself to a staycation at the Warwick Melrose I am always impressed with the level of customer care I receive from the staff. Kudos to Samuel his attention to detail allows you to relax and enjoy your stay I am already looking forward to my next stay!
Fantastic! The hotel and staff are truly excellent. I particularly appreciated how the staff, the service person Eddie, and everyone in the front desk including Samuel went out of their way to make sure my multiple day stay was really perfect and comfortable. In addition, the hotel and room were fantastic as was the location.
