Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
A very comfortable hotel, quiet (only exception is when planes take off from the Love Field airport but it’s not so frequent and only during daytime), with large cozy rooms and fantastic beds.
A/C totally under user’s control, which is a big plus for us European people. Professional staff, good breakfast (although a bit too expensive for what it is).

We go to Dallas a couple of times a year to visit our son, who is a student at SMU. We usually stay at the Ritz. We have also stayed at Crescent Court. I wanted to try the Mansion because of its overall positive reviews and longstanding reputation. We stayed in a one bedroom suite for 2 nights. The suite itself was very nice. The decor felt like you would find in someone's home - lots of books on the shelf, interesting decor throughout the room. But there were just too many small things that did not impress us. Our room had two phones and two tv remotes, but only one of each worked. When we went to the gym, one of the elliptical machines and one of the recumbent bikes did not work. Plus the space just felt dated. Same for the pool - it just felt tired. The toiletries in the rooms were scented Cowboy Grass. While I can appreciate the Texas connection, I dug into the samples in my own bag instead of using these items. I don't know a lot of women who want to smell like 'Cowboy Grass'!
My husband accidentally left his laptop at the pool and did not realize it until the next morning, as we were gone all day after the pool. It was turned in to the front desk and labeled as ours, but I was surprised that they did not make a proactive approach to get it back to us.
Our room service experiences were good and we had positive encounters with staff throughout the hotel. Hence the four stars. This is a really nice hotel, but it could be a better experience.

A Pandemic sized wedding reception at the Rosewood Mansion felt like the most royal, over the top event imaginable. The lobby provided a back drop for breathtaking photographs. The intimate dining room was elegant. Most importantly, the food and the servers were in a class all their own. The bride and groom's room was fitting for the occasion and the room service throughout the day was prompt and congenial. When a mix up related to a bottle of champagne purchased by the groom took place, Rosewood management addressed it in a manner that showed understanding for how important even the smallest detail on your special day can be. We would highly recommend both the restaurant and the hotel at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek.

If you have any pet allergy, DO NOT STAY HERE. My wife, daughter, and I stayed for the last two nights in room 718, booked through American Express Fine Hotel & Resorts. There was a terrible pet odor in our room upon arrival, and we asked to change rooms to a pet free room. We were told that was impossible because all rooms are pet friendly. We asked to change to a room that had not had pets in it for a longer period of time. We were told that was not possible because the hotel was fully committed. At the front desk, we were offered a "deep clean" including shampooing, which in our experience can't be done during a stay without making matters worse. We were twice promised phone calls from the MOD (I made the assumption that meant Manager on Duty). Not such call was ever made. My feeling is that it was an insult to the hotel's staff to complain about animal dander in any way shape or form. There is a pet bed at the hotel front entrance. I am a pet lover and have both dogs and cats at home; however they sleep outside. Otherwise the staff was A+ and greeting me by name at breakfast at 7am. I was unable to sleep in the room the night before due to the allergies. So go there for food and ambience, but if you cannot sleep in the hotel bed for which you paid, is that really the hotel for you? It feels like a complete scam and ripoff.

I live in Dallas and stayed with my visiting mother at the Mansion this weekend. The Mansion has always had the best reputation, and I was thrilled at the prospect of a staycation there with my mom. It was fine, but honestly I’m not sure how/why the Mansion is rated any higher than Zaza, the Ritz, the Joule, the Adolphus or any other nice hotel in town. The bar was surprisingly loud and service was slow Friday night. Dinner in the restaurant afterward was great. I will say the recent renovations are lovely.
Saturday morning we had massage appointments, and that whole experience was a bit of a debacle. Do not bother. The massages were good, but the “spa” is just a couple of massage rooms off the fitness room, and no one even bothered to tell me the sauna and steam room were closed when I booked the appointments (the website gives no indication). No reception area or lounge area or even entry available prior to 5 minutes before your treatment. We had to call the front desk from a phone outside the fitness room for entry, and the masseuses seemed scattered and surprised we were there 8 mins before the appointment time. We sat awkwardly in two straw chairs while they prepped the rooms. I was very disappointed and would have been outright angry had we driven there from anywhere else.
There were some hiccups I didn’t expect from such a primo property. They asked us exactly when we wanted housekeeping to come (11:00 while we had massages) but none had come by 2pm when we left for the afternoon. I’d booked two massages but had to follow up repeatedly to get confirmation and in the end they still messed up the request and had us down for 2 Swedish massages instead of a hot stone massage. When I got back to my room my key didn’t work. I waited on hold for 6 mins and had to call back to order coffee to the room one morning. Nothing was a big deal at ALL but it was just a bit short of expectations given the status of the hotel I’ve heard about for years.

We got home from an overnight flight from Hawaii at 6am on Christmas day to come home & find that our hot water had died. In an effort to have a hot shower & a decent Christmas we checked into the Mansion on 12/25. I used the AMEX package with free breakfast, early check in, late checkout, $100 resort credit & upgrade when available. We got an upgrade but it was just comfortable- not spectacular. That being said, the room we’d just left in Hawaii was 6 times the cost of this room and this room was very nice. Our room was ready early at 1pm which was nice as we had been flying all night. The entire hotel is really cozy and it was cold outside. Nice fire in a living type room just off the lobby. The bar is amazing- dark and quaint and warm with a fireplace. The bar tables close to the front door were not warm so do not sit there in the winter. The service at the hotel was great, the gym is really nice but the service at the bar was poor- the waiters will walk right by your table when you need something and not acknowledge you (our food was free due to the AMEX $100 resort credit so that made it better). On the plus side they have ½ price options starting at 4pm. We slept well because it was quiet which we really appreciate. Room service was fast. Food was amazing room service and at the bar. Valet parking staff very friendly. My guaranteed 4pm late checkout was honored but I had to remind the front desk & they had to “reactivate” my key to use the elevator after the normal check out time on 12/26 and the front desk clerk said I must have forgotten to confirm my late checkout... We will come back for happy hour at the bar & hope for better service as the food & atmosphere are great. We have visited two other Rosewood hotels: Las Ventanas and Rosewood Mayakoba several times and they are both superior but we had a great time at the Mansion and were happy to have a good holiday and a hot shower.

Great room, excellent service from the staff and wonderful amenities. This hotel is where I would stay in when I travel to Dallas next!
The restaurant has a pricey set menu course for dinner, so you would need to order in, in case you want to eat something light, but other than that, you can't find any fault with this place.

My last stay at the Mansion was lovely, as always and I got exactly what I needed.
Michelle did an excellent job of helping me secure my room and restaurant reservations.
The new lobby looks fantastic and I can say that it was absolutely worth the wait!
Everyone from the valet, the lady that checked my temperature at the entrance (didn’t get her name) Front Desk, the restaurant (George), Room Service (It’s always lovely to see Martin), and Bellman during my checkout process, all took wonderful care of me.
Also, I loved all the small details in the room that had been added – the kit with the masks and sanitizers, the change in quality of the packaging for the shower cap, nail kits and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner (they smelled amazing) and new bath products. The addition of bath salts in the room for me to enjoy in the tub was the cherry on top for me.
They also have a reservation system for use of the fitness center to ensure proper social distancing, which I think was a wonderful way of having the health of their guests as a priority.
Great job in all the ways that you have come back and continue to take care of us. I look forward to returning soon!

I just left from a four day stay, I met my daughter for a few days. The people, location and furnishings are great, a real treat. The food, at the pool, room service and dining room are shameful if you like good food. The place also doesn’t offer much service Sunday- Friday, so keep that in mind if you think this is a full service hotel. To be honest I have stayed at FOUR other rosewood properties and this was the worst. The pool and deck are run down, again worst cold frozen food, it’s odd for this being an original. Maybe due to covid they can’t clean or offer better service, no idea. It wasn’t just the room service food that was bad, we booked via Amex fine hotels so our breakfast each day and every day it was cold!!! And if you asked for eggs over easy they came out rock hard….and cold.
So if you stay eat out for all meals, don’t expect solid bar cocktails, weak, the place is nothing like the rosewood Carlyle in NYC, that’s a real rosewood. This is a imposter and sort of cheap to boot.
Think cruse ship food and just odd. My daughter and I both had a message and it was wonderful, so thanks for that. I prefer rosewood or banyan to four seasons these days but not in Dallas. Not sure if Dallas has a four seasons but I would try something similar than staying here again. But I love all other rosewoods so take it for what it’s worth

It’s a lovely old hotel located in a nice part of Dallas for first time visitors. The rooms are large and very well appointed. It is quite pretentious though, without good reason. Dress codes for lunch in the only restaurant on site is a bit extreme, and the level of service from the front desk is hit and miss. If you are “someone” from Dallas or Texas everyone jumps to attention, otherwise true service is “meh”.
The main reason for our 2 star rating was the disappearance of an expensive wallet containing my wife’s Drivers Licence and Credit Card. We only noticed it was missing when we arrived at our nest destination in Austin. We called security and the front more than a dozen times asking for some information, leaving our mobiles and email address, asking them to check the room for us. To this day we still have not received a reply from anyone at the hotel.
This shows the level of contempt they displayed to anyone that wasn’t “someone” in their estimation.
My wife and I are on a 5 month around the world trip which started in Dallas. The best that can be said is that it can only get better from here.
