I'm currently here for a conference. I usually wait until I return home to write a review, but I have to give a review for the outstanding service demonstrated by Chelsea the bartender in Asador! Even on Valentine's Day evening, she was efficient, friendly, funny, and professional. Her cocktails were made with care and she gave each customer personal attention, all the while moving up and down the bar, leaving no one waiting TO order or FOR their order. This lady deserves whatever recognition your organization offers to employees whose performance goes above and beyond. :)

Greetings Rebecca, We are always thrilled to learn when our Renaissance Ambassadors have left a lasting impression and we thank you for calling attention to Chelsea, who takes joy in welcoming guests to our Asador bar every night she works. We have already celebrated your kind words with her and she asked that we pass along her appreciation and an invitation to return one day soon. On behalf of all of us, we thank you for calling our hotel “home” and we echo Chelsea’s request that you join us again one day soon. Cheers, Chris Pilavakis General Manager

This was my first time here on business, because my expo was located at the adjacent Dallas Market Hall, which was a short walk adjacent to the hotel. This is the closest hotel to the Dallas Market Hall. Location, location is the key to this nice hotel. For that reason, I was happy to stay here. Also, I love my Marriott Bonvoy Renaissance hotels, which I have stayed in many other major cities. They always offer above average services to their Bonvoy guests.

When I arrived, I was recognized as Lifetime Titanium Elite member. The front desk staff were always nice. Because the lounge was closed over the weekend, I was given a coupon good for the complimentary continental breakfasts valued at $16 during my entire 5-day stay here. The lounge closed Friday at noon and reopened again on Sunday at 5:30pm. Using my coupon, I was able to upgrade to the full buffet breakfast or any full breakfast with a value of $22 for only an additional $5 plus taxes. My breakfasts at the Asador Latin American restaurant were very nice, therefore, I will separately review.

My room 1922 ranged in price from $137 to $197 inclusive of all taxes and fees, was very nice although it seemed like the HAVC system was not properly functioning in my room, which was usually too warm. It was not too bad; therefore, I did not report or complain about my HAVC problems to the hotel staff until after I checked out and completed their online survey.

I had access to the Bonvoy lounge on the 27th floor where I enjoyed my breakfast, evening snacks and dessert. The lounge was open when I arrived Thursday night from 5:30-10pm and Friday morning 6:30-9am. The service up here from Debra and the rest of the lounge team was very accommodating and pleasant.

I would return here again.

Dear tonytigerjaz, We take great joy in welcoming each and every guest, from our first-time Marriott travelers to our Lifetime Titanium Elite members. We thank you for your Renaissance loyalty and value the details shared within your thorough and thoughtful review. As you discovered, our Club Lounge provides an ample selection of afternoon lite bites and a delicious morning breakfast and Asador fills in with the same level of service and cuisine for those joining us for a weekend stay. We have shared your kind words with Debra and the rest of our culinary team and they all asked that we pass along their gratitude and well wishes. We apologize for any troubles had with your thermostat and we trust you know that no issue is too small and our team is always happy to jump to the rescue. We appreciate that having a technician in your room may pose an inconvenience but we can certainly arrange for this to happen at a time most convenient for you. Once more, we thank you for the fabulous review and we look forward to you enjoying another Dallas Renaissance experience one day soon. Cheers, Chris Pilavakis General Manager

I stayed at the hotel for two nights attending my companies annual leadership summit. I was very impressed with everything! This hotel was built in the late 70's or early 80's, but you would never know it. All remnants of these decades have been removed and it felt very modern and current.

The food was incredible. Not a single rubber chicken in the 7 meals that were served by the hotel. Every meal was original and nothing like I had ever experienced from a hotel catering department. The hotel even created craft cocktails tied to our company for the receptions.

The room was very nice, only complaint is I was put in a far corner room. The hotel has an oval shape so the further from the center of the building you get the smaller the room. My room barely had room for the bed. However, since I was in meetings, receptions and dinners all day it didn't really matter. The bed was comfortable and everything was very modern and clean.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. I hope we come back again.

Dear Bellew_Dallas, Discovering your review left our Renaissance Ambassadors smiling from ear to ear, especially our banquet, catering, and service colleagues who helped curate the details of your summit. As you discovered, we embrace the flavors of Texas, and we are thrilled to know that the menus created each day left you fully impressed. Our mixologists extend a warm hello, and they are just as pleased to find that the craft cocktails were fully enjoyed. We appreciate the added feedback provided within your review and we too hope your group has the chance to join us again. It would be a pleasure to welcome you annually or be a part of your regular destination rotation. At the very least, we trust your list of “must-visit” Dallas attractions continues to expand and we invite you to be in touch if we can assist in planning a city weekend retreat. All the best, Darren Parker Director of Operations

We stayed at the Renaissance back in March 2021 and had a great visit. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was great. Restaurant downstairs was better than most hotel eateries and the parking was convenient (albeit a tad pricey). We are back for the weekend and this visit is... different. Firstly, we got a room with a different bathroom than our last double. It had a tub/shower combo that is dangerous for my mom with severe diabetic neuropathy in her feet. We immediately called down and asked if a double with a walk-in shower was available. We were promptly moved, which was nice. The new room did not have a working toilet, though. So we called back down and the front desk worker offered to send the engineer up to fix it. We waited for about 20 minutes and saw water around the toilet and under the trash can in the bathroom, indicating a recent overflow and clean up. Suspecting the toilet was having trouble before we were given the room and not wanting to deal with a recurring problem for 3 nights, we asked if we could just switch. We apologized for the inconvenience but didn't want to chance having to wait for engineering to flush a toilet. The clerk argued and said they don't know if they will reach capacity later that night and already could not sell the first room we entered that had a tub. Housekeeping was still actively working on both floors (1st and 2nd room) and, tbh, that is not our problem. It was odd that a room with a non-working toilet was even offered and we had no idea their rooms even had step in tub/showers. They aren't pictured on the website and we did not get one before. As we are talking to the clerk the engineer shows up with a plunger and immediately got the toilet going, resulting in a little spillage that he did try to clean up. He didn't test flush or ask any questions. He knew EXACTLY what was wrong. Further indicating that it was a problem they knew about. When we stayed firm in our request to move, the clerk audibly scoffed and agreed to move us. At $170/night + $15/day for internet + high self parking and valet fees, I did not expect this reaction. I worked in hotels for many years and really think she gave us a room that was on the maintenance list because we dared ask for a shower. Nasty. Anyway, it is 2:30 am and I am enjoying the sounds of the neighboring room's loud TV. Won't be back.

Dear Ocky88, We thank you for joining us again and we were thrilled to welcome both you and your mother during your most recent Dallas retreat. While we are pleased to read that your March visit was such a great success, we are sorry to learn of the recent inconsistencies and we hope you can accept our apologies. As your comments note, a handful of or rooms do maintain the bathtub concept and while this does not define a room category and is not listed as an amenity, we understand it may not be ideal for all travelers. As you found, we are happy to accommodate a change in rooms, though we are sorry to learn of the concerns with your second room and we hope you can accept our apologies for the unfortunate circumstances. What concerns me most are your comments detailing the way in which your requests were handled, and should your time allow, I would welcome the chance to plan for a call so that I may extend a more personal apology and learn more about your interactions. With that goal in mind, my email address is provided below which I invite you to use in forwarding your own information and a suitable time that I might be in touch. We want nothing more than to restore your confidence in experiences like those you enjoyed in March of this year and we look forward to doing so the next time we see you. Until then, we thank you again and I look forward to speaking with you in the days ahead. All the best, Darren Parker Director of Operations darren.parker@marriott.com

A week of business mtgs and long days made our visit to the lounge a relaxing and still productive phase of each day. Debra was meticulous in her attention and Olivia was attentive to each detail. The Renaissance team would do well to make these ladies part of the on-boarding experience, they represent the best of the global R brand.

The first floor bar was open for our wedding party and it was wonderfully kept. Chelsea was our bartender and went out of her way to make sure that each of our needs were met and exceeded our expectations. I was impressed with the cleanliness and steps that were taken to ensure our health and safety during a time of uncertainty. After the party was over, Chelsea was so diligent in cleaning the bar and closed the bar so responsibly that I felt it was a necessity to communicate this evaluation.

Dear bradcook28, Congratulations again to you and yours. We were thrilled to play a small part in your special day and we thank you for taking the time to share your marvelous review. As your comments suggest, our Marriott Global Cleanliness Council has partnered with health and safety experts to redefine our cleaning and wellness protocols. Each of our Renaissance Ambassadors have attended extensive training on this topic, daily temperature checks for all of us is the new norm and personal hygiene protocols have been elevated. We are delighted to read that the attention to detail provided by Chelsea provided reassurances that the safety of our guests and Ambassadors is a top priority. As your fellow travelers start to plan their own weekend escapes, we know your review will be of great value and we thank you for investing the time to share your impressions. Once more, we thank you for your rave review and we wish you and yours a lifetime of love, happiness and health. All the best, Chris Pilavakis General Manager

We came to Dallas for a show at the Kessler in Oak Cliff and chose the Renaissance for two reasons, 1) it was a straight shot to the theater via Sylvan Avenue ad 2) I'm a Gold Level Rewards member and always chose a Marriott when available. The parking is convenient and close to the entrance, valet is available if you want.

The check in was easy and after one misstep the new style elevators are quick and more efficient in getting you to your floor. Our room was a medium sized room (because of the design, room range from smallish to huge due to the elliptical shape of the building. Closer to the elevator, larger the room) The room was comfortable and the bed was also. Although the A/C never got down to really cool and the bathroom sink drained slowly. Noise was not a factor even though we faced the highway and were on a lower floor, although a higher floor creates a better view (23th floor last stay was great).
Only let down was the early checkout time. We were out late and normal checkout is an early 11:00 AM, we called as requested late checkout (usually 2:00 PM for Rewards Gold Members) and the latest we could get was Noon.
Bottom line, will we return? Yes, when we want to stay first class.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Renaissance Hotel twice in the past two weeks and I can't compliment it enough. First let me say what a beautiful hotel it is and the staff, everyone we came in contact with were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure that we were happy with our stay. The rooms were so clean and did not have any odors, which I am sensitive to. And the beds and pillows were so comfortable. We are on special diets and the waiter made sure our dietary needs were taken care of at breakfast which was delicious. We accidentally left our tablet in the room when we checked out after the first stay and it was there waiting for us when we returned this past week. The hotel is conveniently located as well. Since we will be going back to Dallas frequently for medical appointments we checked the nearby hotels, but it was like comparing a fine wine to a cheap wine, just no comparison! When I'm in Dallas this is my preferred hotel to stay at.

We have stayed here quite a few times and we have no complaints. Excellent staff, great facilities, and an excellent resturant (Asador). It is actually a resturant I would visit as a non hotel guest. Sunday brunch is the best. If we have ever encountered a problem which has happened - their staff promptly attends to it quickly, effectively, and professionally. The exercise room is an actual gym, they really clean/sanitize everything and did so even before covid. Love the pool/hottub. There are free washer and dryers at the gym for guests to use. This Renaissance sets the standard for their chain. If it was possible Marriott should use this location as a training facility for all Renaissance front desk staff and managers nationally.

The drive to the hotel was hectic, of course, because of the traffic but checking in was easy and seamless. While the day was quite busy because of the convention I was attending, the atmosphere throughout my stay was serene at night while the environment was clean throughout my stay. I also loved the view from my room.

Shout out to the housekeepers, they did an excellent job of cleaning the room and placing water/ chocolates while I was away. The food was also great.
I would challenge management to figure out how to make the elevators more effective. This is because, during rush hours like breaks from my convention, the elevators had huge traffic and people were not necessarily following the weight restrictions which is dangerous as you can hear some weird sounds because it was crowded.

Other than that, it was awesome!
