-Room cleanliness was okay. -Bedroom furniture was decently new, bed comfort okay, 4/10. -No Crowne Plaza signature sleep kit amenity -No restaurant, no bar, no valet, no concierge, no functional ice makers -Pool area was a hot mess with trash, no cushions on the furniture, no canopies stretched across the canopy frames. -Broken furniture in the lobby -Hallways were absolutely filthy with missing ceiling tiles and were used to store furniture -Not good for light sleepers, as you're located across the street from a streetcar and bus station and transit police, you'll hear noises all night long.

Below is a copy of the email I sent to the property a week ago. It has yet to be responded to. The links to email management and need help on their corporate website do not work. The agent I spoke with in Live Chat told me to email the specific property, ignoring the fact I told her that there has been no response, and logged off. To whom it may concern: On February 24th my wife, Brandy Brown, made a reservation for our family at the Crown Plaza in Dallas, Texas. We were to check in on Friday, March 12th and check out on Sunday, March 14th. Our son had a baseball tournament at Mavs Stadium that weekend. We live south of Fort Worth and decided we'd make a weekend of it in Dallas rather than make that commute. The problem is that when we arrived to check in, with our confirmed reservation in hand, we were informed by the front desk that the hotel was closed due to renovations. None of the floor above had power. Further, this had been the case since BEFORE Valentine's Day. All of this yet your systems allowed us to make the reservation. They allowed us to pay for the reservation. We received emails reminding us of our upcoming reservation. All to a hotel that was closed to the public. We spent a few, dumb founded moments desperately looking for an alternative for that night before deciding to drive home. Once there we made a reservation for the following night at another hotel, paying more for one night than we did for the entire weekend at the Crown Plaza. Needless to say this ranks as the most ridiculous situation I have ever run into after purchasing a service. You managed to take a weekend we all were looking forward to and severely diminish our experience. We lost hours of our time as we drove a literal, handful of additional hours. I lost money, as my alternatives were last minute and limited. I'd love to hear how you hope to make this right though ,given our current experience with your caring, I am not optimistic. Please contact me as soon as is convenient. You may use this email or call the number listed below. Sincerely, Justin Brown

Hi justindouglasb, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We're committed to providing an exceptional experience and we're saddened that we've missed the mark. It's with regret to hear that you weren't made aware of the ongoing renovation of the facility. I am truly sorry that we failed to create a relaxing and memorable experience for you and your family. I shared your feedback with our hotel management. Trust that the necessary actions will be taken, so situations as this will not happen again. I also sent you a private message discussing this further. We appreciate you choosing us for your accommodation needs. I hope you'll give us another chance to host your stay and we'll do our best to make your next visit remarkable! Stay safe, Jomar M. Case Manager IHGService

Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Rooms smell of smoke. 3 different rooms and no type of heat or proper ventilation. Stairway are filled with human feces. No proper lighting. Front desk staff have no proper customer service, experienced an issue and the front desk manager walked out to smoke a cigarette.

My teenaged son and I decided to take a road trip so he could take photographs away from our local area. This was such an amazing place. The staff was so helpful and friendly (Anna at the front desk in particular). The view was AMAZING. The room was clean and had basic amenities. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spotless. We were able to walk to several points of interest. (did I mention the view was amazing and the staff was wonderful?) I do not fault them for specific things being closed because of COVID. The parking garage was a bit scary and expensive but I don't live in a city so have nothing to judge it by, Thank you for a wonderful visit for city views.

I booked this hotel due to location and advertised upgrades. I was disappointed for multiple reasons. The room appeared to have cheap upgrades( Looked nothing like the rooms advertised). The room smelled old and smoky, the floors in the hallway were dirty with scattered pieces of paper throughout the floor on a daily basis during my four day stay. There was a large blue laundry bucket that remained in the hallway the entire time, the snack machine was consistently " Out of Order". The a/c made a booming noise everytime it turned on, the shower consistently dripped and the parking deck wreaked of urine and marijuana smoke. Lastly, the Front desk, during the daytime, was difficult to contact. I was put on hold multiple times during my stay, twice for over ten minutes. I will not stay here again for business. I did not feel safe at all as it relates to COVID-19.

We do our best to make sure everything is perfect for our guests' stays, so I'm very sorry to hear we left you with a different impression, my friend. We would never intend to make anyone feel as though they weren't staying in a clean, safe place, as it relates to COVID-19 especially. We're glad to be a place people can stay in the heart of downtown for a great price, but you should always have an enjoyable stay with us. I hope you'll give us another chance in the future. Thank you, Brian Angerer
