This is a mixed message review since some of the negatives are a bit outside the hotels control but can affect your choice. Number one is tremendous staff nothing was too much trouble. Having a functioning restaurant was also nice given the way many hotels are handling themselves at present. Room was very spacious but a little tired in places. Location is good plenty of eateries etc close by the bad news is that events at the American Airlines Center can make getting in and out a nightmare. Also noise the bars etc put out a lot of noise and the sound insulation is not great so if you want peace maybe not the best choice location Trade off is location versus noise versus peace.

To all the road warriors. I made my reservations a week ago and know that full service hotels are literally dead. Their occupancy is in the teens at best. I used the Bonvoy app to request my mobile key and requested an upgrade as well. They said they will note it in the system ( we all know that is code for not going to happen ). This was at 9am in the morning. I checked my phone as I was finishing up my meetings at 3:30pm and no mobile key etc. I drive to the hotel, give my car to valet ( who didn't have a name tag ) and walk to the desk. I give her my name and she confirms my room and I stop her and ask, I called and asked for an upgrade, do you have one? ( now, I looked on the app they have plenty of suites so I know being a Platinum I should have an upgrade complimentary. She says she can upgrade me to a high floor. I said, I know you have suites, I am a Platinum you need to upgrade me, it in my benefits. Well it doesn't matter, she says sorry, only can do the high floor. Really?? You have empty rooms and could gain a loyal guest but you are intentional denying me because what? This is the problem and why hotels will close during Covid-19 poor service. You do not have F&B open but you are still charging like all the amenities are available, The next visit choosing the residence inn down the street for $89.00. I dont need to mention the chipped furniture, AC that won't cool and the TV that is clearly 32" when the standard in hotels are 50". Like the other reviews I read and thought were wrong but they are correct, avoid the hotel go somewhere where loyalty matters. I hope I get a survey from Marriot!

We were suppose to be staying there soon and the lack of customer service is concerning. I’ve emailed, called and reached out via messenger on social media asking about current situation of hotel (What is open, what is not etc) due to Covid 19 and cannot get any responses.

Inept and poor customer service: upon arrival, the front desk was unable to find my reservation even after I provided my reservation number. I had to check myself in on my phone. I was told that I would be emailed a mobile key, which never happened. Also, there was only 1 person there to man the phones and the front desk. There was no acknowledgement of my being a Marriott gold member. As there were no bathrobes in my room (this is posted on their website as though this is standard to have in room), I requested one at 4:30pm on the day of arrival by calling the front desk. She said they would get one to me. At 7am the next day, I still hadn't received one. I messaged the desk through my Marriott app and asked again for one and said that I had requested one 14 hours ago. "Sorry about that. Will get one to you as soon as possible." By 11am, still no robe. I only received one after my third request. This was once housekeeping came around to refresh my room. Front desk was unable to provide change for a $20, which is inconvenient, as this property only offers valet parking. Upon checkout, I was not asked how my stay was.  Room condition: Marriott puts this in a category 6, which I find shockingly disappointing. The room had a dark and dreary feel to it. The towels were high quality, but other than that, this property, and especially Room 325, needs some major updates. The toilet seat had several knicks on it and looked like it had been pulled out of an old dumpster. The white curtains that separate the bathroom area from the bedroom area had several spots and stains on them, some of which looked like blood. This room lists: "shower/tub combo", which is part of why I booked it. Yet, the water only comes out of the shower head. So, having water coming from above when running a bath is annoying and a slow process. Having an outdoor terrace (the other reason I booked this type of room) was nice and had a nice view. However, the cushions on the lounge chairs looked filthy and made it hard to enjoy the space. The door to the room rattled anytime that other nearby doors were closed. The A/C unit was also noisy.  Location: if you want to stay in this area and be close to certain things, this is the only reason that I could see staying here until they get some major improvements in service and room furnishings. Amenities: nice rooftop pool, which has a lot of cozy outdoor tables. I enjoyed bringing my lunch up here on the first day. The pool is smaller in person than it appears in the pics on the website. There is a workout room, but it doesn't seem that they really want the hotel guests to use it. Next door is a W residence property that is connected to the hotel. There are separate elevators for the hotel guests and the residents that live next door. The workout area is on the 17th floor, but the hotel elevators only go up to the 16th floor, where the pool is. I took stairs on the 16th floor to the 17th. Someone asked, "Can I help you?" It appeared to be a resident. This 17th floor that is not easily accessible also had a resident's only lounge.  I would not recommend this hotel. I cannot imagine this place staying in business without the residence setup and the location. The pricing does not reflect the service received. Marriott needs to rethink this being a Category 6.

Hello world, I had the pleasure to stay at The W Dallas for two night with my wife while visiting Dallas on business. We had an overall good experience except for the kitchen being closed at night because of the pandemic, no fault of their own. Valet was speedy and polite especially a kid with the name Keith (my late fathers name) whom I only met one night, once we saw him running and dripping sweat with a smile. We went to 7-Eleven and grabbed him some water, told Keith if he ever needed work to give me a call! Thank you W Dallas for the stay also thank you Keith for staying on my mind and suggesting the blackened chicken pasta from Mama Mia’s it was delicious!
