Spencer is amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He went out of his way to make our trip special. He also picked us up from the hotel and then waited for us to have dinner to pick us up again and take us to the Andrea Bocelli concert.

We arrived around 6:30 PM, Valet was good and we got to our room quickly after that. We noticed the room was warm and muggy feeling. I noticed the AC was on and set to 65 degrees already so I figured when we get back to our room after the concert it will be nice and cool. We get back a little after 11 and notice no difference on our room’s atmosphere. I picked up and called the front desk to look for a remedy. The Lady who answered was rude and short on the phone. After she told me she will send an engineer I asked “ how long will that take?” She replied again rudely “as soon as I tell him!” While we sit in our room (almost midnight) tired and just want to sleep 20 min later the engineer walks in. At this time the AC kicked back on and he stood in front of it and while the air is blowing in his hair and said “ feels nice to me”. There is obvious physical damage to the thermostat (I have pictures) but he still insisted it was all working properly. I asked for a different room, he said he will see what he can do. At this time it is now after midnight we have not heard anything for over 20 minutes, I was definitely not going to call the rude lady at the front desk again. So we got comfortable and ready for bed. Put out the Quiet sign on the door and laid down. 10 minutes after that there is a knock on the door. So I get dressed and answer the door, it’s the engineer with new room keys. Well by this point we are physically and emotionally drained and just want to sleep. So I tell him don’t worry about the room I’ll sort it out in the morning with management. The next morning we wake up and get ready to shower, we’ll upon inspection of the “all bathroom surfaces are cleaned” we discover what looks to be either. Blood and or vomit ( have pictures) so at this point we are done call the valet and continue to make our way to the front desk to checkout and let them know the issues with the room. The gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant and agreed that the room had an issue and he said he would want to shower in that either. So he asked Robin the manager what he could do. She quickly left the situation up to him and would not come back even after I asked to speak with her because the only thing he could offer me was to credit my valet and told me to take it up with Expedia.

I really hate writing negative reviews especially when the majority are doing the very best that they can while we are navigating thru so many changes. However, I would be doing other potential guests a disservice if I did not share my personal experience with you all & hopefully hotel management will really take heed to what’s being said. I enter my assigned room at 1509 and I start sanitizing the room…I’ve gotten most of the room done and move towards the closet and I was mortified to find the prior guest’s items still in the room. An array of clothes and shoes. I was livid! Also, there’s a cooler in the room that was filthy. Clearly no one did a full inspection of the room because there’s no way you could miss those items! I immediately called the front desk and was told that there was no manager on duty. There was only 1 other room available in my room category and you guessed it…it’s right in front of the elevator. Needless to say, that wasn’t going to work. I’ll also like to note that the person (blonde) who I spoke with initially couldn’t have cared less! In normal times—sure send security to get the items & no big deal. However, she did not seem to realize the severity of the situation as the entire room could have been contaminated & I unknowingly was sent straight into it. Thanks to (Hafeed) I eventually got the room cleaned again & was offered a small amount for F&B. This took hours to resolve and I never got over the uneasiness of them being so careless with cleaning especially during Covid! Not an ideal situation & stay at all! Let’s be clear—this is a Marriott category 6 hotel in name only. I kept seeing the reviews that mentioned how basic the rooms are at this property and I couldn’t imagine what they meant by that. After all, most rooms average well over $350 a night. So here’s what is missing: no refrigerator, no Keurig in the room (complimentary coffee is located downstairs in the lobby), no toiletries, a small 30+inch television. There is no value add for choosing this property. Perhaps, a suite is different. The only dining at the hotel; was not full service & the menu was extremely limited. I had to walk up to the bar in order to replenish anything. There was also no champagne or sparkling wine….unreal! <—that may not be a big deal to some people but imagine trying to celebrate without something so symbolic to do it with. The water was very temperamental—it would not stay warm. The furniture is scuffed, soap dish cracked and overall the hotel is overdue for a remodel. The most disheartening part of this situation is that I was never contacted by a manager and I requested it with the young lady that took down my initial concerns. I used a lot of my points to have a wonderful night out in my own city & I could have stayed home without having to deal with any of this!! Perhaps, this hotel can redeem themselves & that room 1509 is just the worst room on property! Future guests or management can reach out to me directly for my further feedback. As well, I have pictures of all that’s listed above.

Thanks for clicking Helpful if helpful :-). ***Front Desk checked my bag and I enjoyed exploring the plaza between the W and the AAC. I arrived before the room was ready so I had to kill a lot of time. I was surprised they didn’t have a “Text U When Itz Ready” system but because the surrounding area and lobby bar were so interesting it was only mildly inconvenient to check back repeatedly. ***Room was a nice good design robes, comfortable bed ***Bath modern & good linens, water hot & pressure typical. ***Pool is a Sky Pool and is stunningly perched overlooking the setting sun. ***Spa was disappointingly under renovation I wish I had known this as it was a primary reason for this choice. ***Area couldn’t be better, walking-friendly. For attending a Mavs or Stars game just stay here, no need to look any further, walk to the game. ***Restaurants, we’ll, I didn’t use the one on site but each place along the plaza the W faces was good, best among them Mesero, elevated Mexican. ***Other features like valet, housekeeping functional & on par with similarly priced hotels. Overall a nice stay.
