Really cool little Art Deco hotel in the heart of Fort Worth. Rooms are a bit small but the hotel is newly renovated while preserving the historic Art Deco style. We stayed while on business and I will definitely return with family to this hotel.
I arrived to find that they did not save the room I booked. The room had no elevator access, the only way to get to it was by a dirty staircase. Internet didn't work. There was no hot water on arrival until the following day. The bathroom was dirty with no towels. While the staff seem friendly and assured that I would receive a refund after deciding to cancel my booking, they deceitfully decided to change their minds a few days later. Many other decent options in the area. Don't be swayed by the 4-stars. Its maybe 2 at best.
Place has changed. Room wasn't cleaned, had to request service. No towels in bathroom. WIFI was brutal, machines in gym didn't work, on and on. Times have changed this place from when we stayed 4 years ago. Not for the better. Front desk staff was indifferent at best. Room felt used, not updated at all. Positive? Great location, coffee shop next door is amazing. Bed comfy. That's it. So many choices in Dallas downtown, this won't be my first next time.
We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. I should’ve paid closer attention to the check in time because 4p is super late, and they didn’t allow for early check in. We ended up having to get ready for an event in the lobby bathroom that had no soap or toilet paper. We told the front desk on 3 separate occasions throughout the day and it never ended up getting fixed which really confused me as I saw hotel employees use the same bathrooms constantly. When we finally got into our room, we had 1 towel, no wash cloths or hand towels. The next morning my wife noticed our bed sheets had blood all over them, so awful. We immediately addressed this and the towels with the front desk and they said they would get them changed out and put more towels in our room, this was at 9a. We leave for the entire day and come back around 11:30pm and the sheets had not been changed nor did we have towels. When I called the front desk again they said they would personally bring them up….20 minutes later they provided sheets, but did not offer to make the bed for us, nor did they take the blood infused sheets from our room. I asked for some sort of reimbursement for all of these inconveniences and was told they couldn’t because we booked through Expedia. Needless to say we will never return and we will not recommend. I will say though….they have a wonderful coffee shop off the lobby and it is super close to stores, the aquarium, and amazing restaurants.…
Lucia at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Lucia got me checked in quickly and provided directions to the nearest eateries nearby. The location of this hotel by the way is the best! Close to everything downtown Dallas. Thank you, Lucia!
Stayed here Feb 2023 for 5 nights. 1st night woke up and bed was crawling with bed bugs. Had 50-100 bites on my upper torso. Hotel credited me 1 night and then offered to dry clean my clothes and took them and never did. Credited me a second night. Had worst sleep and felt very uncomfortable and have asked them to credit my entire stay and the GM of that location is not responding. Don’t stay here. Had to dry clean at home at my own expense and buy bed bug spray for luggage. Bites are still visible 3 weeks later and itch like hell.
We stayed on the 23rd floor for 3 nights. Great view of the city and above the Adolphus hotel next door that costs twice as much. I felt the double queen room was spacious and the beds were clean and comfortable and TV was great. You might want to ask for extra towels when you check in. We had no maid service during our stay. Some older reviews mention free happy hour, cookies and milk and breakfast but that is no more. But The Flying Horse Cafe, located just off the lobby was a real highlight with fresh squeezed orange juice and excellent coffee and baked goods. It was far superior to paying more for a room that comes with a crappy breakfast buffet. We took reasonably priced ride shares and didn’t have parking expenses. Historic hotel has thick plaster walls, excellent HVAC, plenty of hot water with excellent pressure. Highly recommend!…
The hotel is a historic building. Therefore the ceilings and facade are beautiful The lobby is modern. I requested an early checkin and was accommodated for 50 ectra dollars. I felt it was well worth it. Rooms are a good size Furniture dated but serviceable Beds are new, clean and comfortable If you need to be in downtown this is s good place for the money. We walked to Kennedy memorial and AA center. Many close restaurants and walking distance to American Airlines Center The staff was friendly Excellence coffee shop on premises
Unprofessional, Dirty and outdated. I recently stayed in one of the suites and I brought along 3 team members of mine . Every one of them had a issue with this hotel. I have tried to give them a chance to rectify the problems but each time you ask to speak to a manager the employees state “we don’t know where he is” .. The front desk employees are decently nice and the coffee shop attached is good. The problem is the rooms were nasty, stained carpets , drywall cracks and paint chipping , bathroom not cleaned and stocked and the “free coffee and water” never was filled . On top of all this my toilet wouldn’t flush and needed plunged (not from #2) . They plunged and left the dirty toilet water all over . The only perk was staying downtown but know the walls are thin and you will hear music and cars from outside all night long . …
AVOID THIS HOTEL. Zealots on loudspeakers outside, street racing, dirty rooms, and staff that can't hold up their end of the bargain. I booked 3 nights through Expedia for a weekend at Magnolia only to have one of the worst, most frustrating hotel experiences I've ever had. Right from the get-go - our room was double booked. We were given a second room as an "upgrade" which we went to and was SO dirty and grimy, the shower was trashed, and the toilet was broken. We were then moved to our third room - still gross, but okay, it's late and we wanted to sleep. That's when the streetside preacher on the bullhorn started screaming outside of the hotel...for several hours. Well after "quiet hours" when I called the desk to ask about this - the entire staff knew of this individual. WARNING TO ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE GETTING SCREAMED AT ABOUT REPENTING WHILE TRYING TO SLEEP: DO NOT STAY HERE. Once the individual left the property around midnight - that's when the street racing starts, so we got about 4 hours of sleep. I found a lovely (and honest) AirBNB for half the price in a quiet spot with bomb tacos around the corner that same morning, turned in my keycard, and left. The staff did tell me they would fully comp my stay but are now no longer honoring that by saying it's against policy and that there was a miscommunication. I was comped one night out of three, but I only stayed the first night out of absolute necessity. I find it a heinous move to consider yourself hospitality, but to deliberately hide behind policy that's built to protect the hotel from a bad experience at the expense of the customer. I can't say this strongly enough - if you want a good hotel experience in Dallas, this is 100% absolutely not the place to stay.…
