We stayed there for one night in August. We had booked the small house as that was all they had left at the time we made the reservation. The hostess was planning to put a roll-away bed in there for us so we wouldn't have to share a bed. When we got there she said she could move us to... More

We were overjoyed to see 21 different bird species in the July Texas heat. We specifically chose to return to the Hummer House with their great air conditioned viewing room as it is a wonderful local for an elderly relative. The viewing room will accommodate a motorized cart. The lodge is lovely with a full kitchen, breakfast items provided and... More

this place is great! for birders, not only hummingbirds, but many varieties including painted buntings everywhere! The area is set up for maximum birdwatching. The guest houses are beautiful, new, clean, well appointed. The hosts and wonderful. I can't say enough about how wonderful our long weekend was at the hummer house. Highly recommended!

I booked one of the cottages, for my son's family at Christmas, and it was just wonderful. They are very well equipped, & up to date. There were breakfast items stocked, which was a nice plus. My sons' family slept at the Hummer House, and visited us in the day time. We live in the area. We would rent it... More

The Hummer House is a wonderful place to visit. There are 3 cabins, the Lodge (largest, sleeps at least 8 people), the Hummer House (sleeps 4) and the Hideaway(a cozy place for 2). We have been fortunate enough to stay in each cabin and they are all wonderfully comfortable. This last trip we stayed in the Hideaway for the first... More

Dan & Cathy Brown have a haven for hummingbirds in a quiet forest setting near the small Texas town of Christoval. Hundreds of the little creatures can be seen from the living room windows, along with deer, wild turkeys, and perhaps other animals. Dan popped over to our cottage a couple of times during the two days we spent there... More

This is a great place to enjoy nature. The big attraction is humming birds. Literally hundreds of them gather at the feeders. The cottages are in like new condition and fully furnished. The hosts, Dan and Cathy, are very friendly and gracious. We also walked the property, around 1200 acres and saw a wild turkey and large snake! One evening... More
