I loved the place so much, I stayed for an extra 9 days..... Lovely natural bungalows set just off the beach. All set in a beautiful bay and a wonderful sea for swimming. Run by Lory the owner - nothing is too much and her beachside restaurant proved to be a mecca for the other few guests on the bay. If you love nature, beautiful unspoilt food and good value for money - you cannot go wrong.
The most peaceful, beautiful, and friendly place we found on our way. Expect no luxury, but lots of smiles, clean and nice bungalows, helpfulness, care and good food. Thank you Lory and staff - we will be back to this bounty island❤️
Great food, very lovely staff and an attentive owner. We dined here twice whilst staying in a neighbouring hotel. Food was excellent, busy buzzy atmosphere and delicious Mojitos, they deserve to be full which they were on both occasions!
Horizon is owned by a very friendly Italian lady. The resort is eco friendly with 8 simple, clean, bright bangalows with direct access to the beach. The restaurant offers authentic Thai food. Great place ! Second visit for our family after 2019 and 2020.
This was one of my favourite locations in Thailand, and staying at Horizon was a great choice for us. I did some research about the island and saw there were a few options for accommodation on the island, unfortunately the website (titled using the name of the island) was inaccurate about accommodation options so beware! It implied Horizon was possibly closing and was negative about the owner, Lory the owner is a wonderful, friendly, helpful person, who really contributed to a great stay. Horizon is a more basic option in the sense that there is not 24hour electricity, but the rooms have everything you need, a fan, ensuite (toilet roll needs to be disposed of in bins provided), mozzy net, chairs/hammock on the balcony. There are only a few bungalows, maybe 8 and they are set behind the restaurant amongst the trees (ideal for shade!). The food in the restaurant is delicious and the portions were large (alas we didn't loose weight whilst staying here), I also felt it was all well priced especially considering the logistics of getting food onto the island. I would definitely recommend doing a tour of the island if you get the chance as the savanna interior is a sight to see. The sea is gloriously warm and the beaches are virtually empty so it is worth losing yourself here for a few days. Big thanks to Lory and their team for making our stay so memorable. I hope the unique charm of Koh Phra Thong remains for many years to come!…
