My family and I recently stayed at Willow Point Resort, and it was far more than we expected. This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is a peaceful place to get away from the city. The cabins are just the right size for 5 to 6 people. The kids had a great time and not too many people to where it was crowded. The owners were very attentive to any concerns we had and were extremely nice. We will definitely be going back soon to enjoy the convenience of having the lake steps away from the cabin.

I cannot say enough about this place. Beautiful, peaceful and clean! My family of 12 all stayed here 4 nights and loved it! We stayed in cabins 7 & 8. Enough room for 6. Everything you needed in the cabins. Sandy beach area for the kids to play and swim.
We will definitely be back!

We were part of a large group that stayed here over the New Year. Though the weather did not cooperate, the resort itself was wonderful. The cabins, though small, were clean and warm. The beds are small - so my wife slept on the foldout futon and I on the actual bed. The one suggestion I have is to build in some shelving to put away stuff (clothes etc) since there really isn't any more space for another piece of furniture. We will be back.

Good time with 6 people in one cabin. Me my wife my inlaws and a 2 year old and a 1month old. Water in lake was low but still had a great time. So pretty and the bbq provided did better than i thought it would. Everyone raved about my bbq. Been here twice and both times have created wonderful happy memories and i cant wait to go back.

The owners of this place, in my opinion, make it what it is. It is a great location on the lake for quick get away and they are very personable and friendly people. The only downside, if you want to a call it that, is it a bit higher in cost than some of the other nearby cabins, but you can't put a price on the how welcome we were made to feel and the location is great for those who don't want to spend their entire time at the cabins. Ink Lake and Longhorn caverns are within 30 min drive and Kingsland and Burnett are about 20 min away if you want need to do any grocery shopping or you want to find a restaurant for lunch or dinner. I would not hesitate to recommend any of my friends or family to consider staying here.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Willow Point! The cabin was very clean, cozy, and comfortable. The lake was very refreshing, and scenic. There were plenty of places nearby to eat, and any number of activities to enjoy. The host and hostess went out of their way to make our stay memorable, enjoyable, and comfortable. The property is QUIET, and peaceful!!

Our large family recently held our second family reunion at the Willow Point Resort on Lake Buchanan. Gwen and staff were extremely acommodating and easy to work with. The cabins are spotless and very well appointed. They have thought of everything, and everything is very well maintained. Highly recommend! Even though the lake is low, it is so wonderful because there were almost no boats - felt like our own private lake!

We recently had a wedding weekend at Willow Point Resort in Buchanan Dam, TX. Gwen and Bryan, the owners, went out of their way to make the weekend wonderful for everyone. While it rained for my reception, we still managed to have the ceremony out under the willow trees before the downpour came. But even then, there are indoor options for eating either in the Lake House or if you rent Crockett Hall.

The rustic setting at the lake is beautiful and the facilities are so much fun for everyone to hang out, relax, and even participate in some of the outdoor activities. We rented a pontoon / jet ski from Splash Boat Rentals for 4 hours, and while the lake level is low, we were able to swim and enjoy to lake.

There's lots of room in the Lake House kitchen and the bedroom sizes are outstanding! Our guests who stayed in the cabins thought they were great too!

I highly recommend Willow Point for individuals, weddings, as well as family reunions! Thank you, Gwen and Bryan!

~Lynette

My friend and I wanted to get away for a few days and go someplace where we could relax and escape. I researched several other resorts in the Lake Buchanan area, before choosing WIllow Point Resort. The other resorts seemed nice, but none seemed to provide the beach access that Willow Point did.
The pics online don't do it justice. The cabins are all individual homes with a small fully equipped kitchen area, one small bedroom with a full size bed, a loft with two twin beds and a futon in a small living room area. The decor is simple and perfect. Not a lot of frills, but very tasteful. All linens and pots and pans are provided.
The best part of the cabin was the porch view. The cabin direclty faces the lake with no obstrucitons. We enjoyed breakfast sitting on the porch feeding ducks that came up to see what we were eating. It was amazing to watch the sunrise while drinking coffee.
The grounds were well maintained, with row boats and canoes available for use. Each cabin also has a picnic table and grill for use. Most families spent the day playing in the water and surf fishing.
If you want to get away and spend time with the family, plan a family reunion, or escape from life for a few days. Call Gwen the owner and make reservations at WIllow Point.

Is march a good time to enjoy the lake? Or is it still chilly?
Answer from Bryan-Gwen
Buchanan Dam, Texas6 contributions1 helpful vote
March is a good time to be at the lake, but, yes, the water is still a little cold even though the kids will brave the water starting Spring Break! March is a good time for kayaking, canoeing, campfires and hanging out by the water. It's also a good time for "family time" playing basketball, horseshoes, ladder golf and the other outdoor games we have here. Anytime of year is good for the nearby hiking trails, cave tour, wine tasting and zip lining. The fishing is also really good in March. There is a list of fishing guides on our website listed under "Activities". You can also fish from the bank...just bring your fishing gear and license if you're over 17. Thanks for the question! We hope to see you here!! Gwen

Cabins by the Lake rent for $190 a night on weekends for two people. Cabins sleep 6 people so add $15/night for each additional person. Children 1, 2, 3 years old are free.
