My wife and I had a great time in Bryan this weekend. We spent some wonderful quality time with our daughters, their spouses and our grand baby. This was our first stay at the LaSalle. Over the past eight years we have stayed in almost every hotel, inn and motel there is in Bryan/College Station. As it stands now, the LaSalle has beat them all. Not on all fronts, but for the most part. The customer service from your staff was top notch. We have not been treated like we matter in a long while. Everyone was tentative to our needs and made sure we had a great time. We were able to upgrade our room to a suite upon arrival and made it so much better. We also utilized both bars. The one on the first floor and the speak easy. Everyone was fantastic to us. Our room (304) had great views and we loved all the windows. It was spacious enough with plenty of room to move around. The location of the hotel is great. Walking distance to anything you need, weather permitting.

I booked a room to attend a wedding. What a mistake. The room had no air conditioning whatsoever. There was no repair staff on duty and supposedly no other rooms available. It was like 80 degrees in that room. Needless to say I got no sleep. When I checked out, there was no refund offered. The front desk person said she had no authority to offer one and would have to talk to her manager. So far, I've received no communication from the manager, which speaks volumes as to the kind of customer service you can expect if you stay in this hotel. In addition, several light bulbs were burned out in the room, which is something any competent housekeeping service would notice and take care of. It was my first time staying here and my last time.

We were headed back to South Texas from the grandson's wedding in Misouri and decided to stop in Bryan, Texas for the evening. We found the LaSalle online while traveling and made our reservations for the evening. Not really knowing what to expect we literally gasped when we pulled into the parking area. BEAUTIFUL! What a wonderful restoration job they did on this fabulous old hotel. Rooms had everything you could possibly want and then some. Super comfortable beds, very plush bed and bath linens, quite and we slept great. We dined at the Hotel Restaurant which was great! My husband had a his favorite, a ribeye and I had the tenderloin and it was the best meal of the whole trip!!! WoW!!! I would go back to Bryan/College Station just to stay at this hotel again. Wonderful experience!!!

The young people that worked the front desk were LAZY! If they were out of the complimentary coffee or ice water, their comment was (from more than one employee!), “No we are out of coffee”...instead of, let me quickly make a fresh pot. Same way with basic ice water. I asked if they had any ice water, while looking a a mini fridge for the employees, her response was “no”. I walked away saying under my breath....heaven forbid you would get off your butt and go to the kitchen just steps away and get a fresh pitcher. A woman was walking in about that time and heard my comment. She immediately said she would help me. I assume she was the manager. The owner was also very helpful at check-in after ANOTHER one of her lazy employees said ABSOLUTELY NOT, we could not check in a little early. Manager came out and she took care of us. This hotel has a lot of character, but the sweet owner needs to hire young people that WANT to work. The day we checked out was the first time we had a nice young man at the desk. He was very, very helpful. NOTE: the hotel and restaurant/bar are not owned by the same people....but is an awesome place to eat and drink! We did so several times.

I think most favorable reviews are due to the two bars/restaurant onsite. However, none of these are associated with the hotel so my review does not take those into account. We chose this hotel because we were attending an event in d/t Bryan. We had booked and paid for the room with free breakfast for two. Upon check-in, I had to search through my e-mail to show them I had paid for the room with breakfast. It turns out, the "included breakfast" was not onsite, but across the street and down the block. This was not mentioned in their advertising. To top it off, when we went to breakfast, we found that the gift card we were provided only covered the cost of ONE breakfast. By this time, I'd already checked out so I didn't approach the front desk about that. The room was quaint and the bed was comfortable. We had been told at check-in that a train comes by and they offer complementary earplugs. I wish they would have stressed the noise level as I might have taken advantage of the earplugs. However, I didn't like the idea of sleeping with earplugs. At 5:30am, Sunday morning, I learned that the train not only comes by but is blowing its whistle for two miles, at least. I thought the train was running through the lobby. I think that the hotel is remiss by not fully disclosing the facts about the train and the breakfast on their website (which I visitied, though I booked elsewhere) I suppose they realize if people knew all of the facts, they'd never get anyone to book a night there.
