Fantastic location at the Gaia Riverlodge! The lodge has a beautiful setting overlooking the Five Sisters! The meals are wonderful and fruit and vegetables are from their organic garden on a deck overlooking the river. The front desk was amazing at arranging tours to the...More

Most of our visitors make use of our tour offers. Please contact us via the website to receive information on the tours offered, as well as on the group sizes. All tours except ATM can also be booked as private tours. Gaia Riverlodge is located about one hour's drive from San Ignacio Town, mainly in unpaved road. There is no shuttle service, but you can for example book a tour which would include a visit to the market on Saturdays when the market is lively and interesting.

Belize is a safe place to visit for tourists, and the area where Gaia is located is no exception. For additional security, trips to Caracol Maya site are usually done in a convoy and are often accompanied by local security personnel due to the remote location of the site.
Like anywhere in the world, you should use common sense, though, don't flash large amounts of cash, do not pick up hitchhikers or go with strangers. After all, you would not do that at home either.
